Ecstasy of Love
It was late autumn with cold dew and frost in Capital.
Especially at night.
Su Liyang dragged two huge suitcases and stood downstairs, gasping for breath. She put her hands on her hips and looked up at the apartment building in front of her, breathing in short pants.
After resting for a while, the cold wind mercilessly poured into the clothes of Su Liyang, causing her to shiver and sneeze a few times.
She put her hands, which were almost frozen at her waist, to her mouth and exhaled a breath of hot air. Then she rubbed her hands together and stomped her feet. Finally, she exerted all her strength to move two suitcases into the elevator.
After pressing the floor button, Su Liyang was able to relax her entire body against the luggage.
Just five hours ago, she was ruthlessly kicked out by the landlord's wife.
As for the reason, the landlord and his wife's divorce caused the house to belong to his wife. Su Liyang had never heard of all this until the landlord's wife, with a fierce expression, stood at the door of her house and ordered Su Liyang to move out immediately.
With no other choice, she had to pack up and move out. Su Liyang sat in the convenience store, searching on various rental apps for a house to rent. However, after almost an hour of searching, she still couldn't find a house that satisfied her.
The rent was either too exorbitant or, despite being affordable, the house was dilapidated and posed safety concerns. Alternatively, there were options that aligned with her budget and met her criteria, yet they were situated far away from the place where she practiced dancing.
She couldn't find a house on any of the three rental apps that met both her requirement of being close to her dance studio and also being cost-effective.
As the sun slowly sank below the horizon, Su Liyang sat anxiously in the convenience store.
Fortunately, in her state of anxiety, she received a phone call from her mother, Mrs. Yang Yue.
Mrs. Yang Yue said on the phone, "Hello, Liyang, have you found a rental?"
Su Liyang let out a weary sigh and massaged her temples, plagued by a pounding headache. "Not yet."
"What's the matter with your landlord? Why didn't he inform you earlier? It's really unfair to abruptly cancel the rental agreement." Yang Yue berated the landlord over the phone before suggesting, "Anyway, your Auntie Tang's son happens to possess a property that is conveniently situated near your dance studio. You must remember how close you were with him during your childhood. If you're unable to find another rental, you can consider staying at his place temporarily."
After pondering for a while, Su Liyang found it rather odd to reside in a man's house without any valid reason. "Mother, it somehow seems unsuitable. After all, he is of the male gender..."
Not to mention the issue of gender, she couldn't believe at first that her mother would actually allow her to live with a man she wasn't very familiar with!
It was simply outrageous!
"There's nothing bad about it, Red Dragon." On the phone, Yang Yue said while playing mahjong, "Auntie Tang has told her son and he agreed."
"It's Shen, whom you met once when you were a child. Do you remember? Besides, I heard from Auntie Tang that he basically lives in the hospital office and rarely comes home. You can stay for the time being and take it as a joint rental. Don't put too much pressure on yourself. You can move out when you find a house. Well, I'll send you the address now."
"Mom..."
Just as Su Liyang began to speak, she was abruptly cut off before she could complete her sentence.
Yang Yue's phone was taken by Tang Shanyan: "Hello, Liyang, it's your Auntie Tang. You can go and stay with Yanfeng for now. I have already called Yanfeng and he agreed. Don't worry."
"Okay, thank you, Auntie Tang."
Su Liyang terminated the call and let out a weary sigh, overwhelmed by a pounding headache.
She considered that since she was unable to secure a suitable rental promptly, it would be wise to heed her mother's suggestions.
Although the owner happened to be a boy, Auntie Tang's recommendation of this property was justified as the owner practically resided in the hospital and the house conveniently lay in proximity to her dance studio. This made it a suitable option.
If her memory served her right, Auntie Tang's son went by the name of Shen Yanfeng. If she recalled correctly, he was one or two years older than her.
As the elevator door slowly opened, Su Liyang retracted her thoughts and dragged the two suitcases to the door with both hands. She turned on her mobile phone, where there was the password that Yang Yue had just sent her, and keyed the digits one by one.
“0129”
With a bang, the door was unlocked.
Su Liyang gently opened the door and then dragged two huge suitcases into the house.
She placed her suitcase at the entrance and searched through the nearby cabinet, but couldn't find a pair of women's slippers. Su Liyang sighed and put on a pair of men's slippers before stepping into the house for a tour.
The overall decoration of the house was based on black, white and gray, which gave the impression that the whole house lacked a bit of liveliness.
A glass door separated the kitchen from the dining table, and across from the table was a black wine cabinet filled with various types of neatly arranged wine bottles.
On the bookshelf next to the living room were medical books and some literary classics.
Su Liyang tiptoed to the balcony of the living room and pulled open the gray curtains that were tightly closed. There was a huge French window.
She gently pulled the curtains to the side and leaned over to gaze out. Through the pristine French window, she peered into the enveloping darkness of the night. The street lamps illuminated the roadside, while cars streaked by swiftly, resembling a swarm of bustling ants.
In front of the French window was an oval-shaped hanging chair. Su Liyang sat there carefully, looking at the scenery not far away. With the slight swinging of the hammock, Su Liyang, who had been tired for most of the day, yawned and closed her eyes tiredly.

When Shen Yanfeng opened the door and saw the two huge pink suitcases in the hallway, he couldn't help but sigh in resignation, remembering what his mother had said on the phone earlier.
He pushed the suitcase forward. After changing into slippers, he raised his head slightly and glanced at Su Liyang, who was sleeping soundly on the hammock. He lightened his footsteps.
Su Liyang was a light sleeper. She had already been partially awake when Shen Yanfeng opened the door moments ago, but her fatigue hindered her from opening her eyes. Hearing the light footsteps getting closer and closer to her, Su Liyang slowly opened her heavy eyelids.
When Shen Yanfeng saw Su Liyang open her eyes, he walked up to her. "You're awake?"
Su Liyang yawned, tears welling up in her eyes.
She closed her eyes, massaged her aching neck, and gave a weary nod.
Shen Yanfeng looked at the confused and lovely girl in front of him and pursed his lips. "Have you seen the room?"
Su Liyang yawned again and shook her head. "No."
As soon as she came in, she casually looked around and fell asleep on this hammock. She had long forgotten that she had not looked at the room yet.
"Let's go and have a look." Shen Yanfeng chuckled and unconsciously lowered his voice. "The one on the left."
Su Liyang replied with an "oh" and then stood up obediently. She wore a pair of slippers much bigger than her feet and walked to the door of the room on the left. She held the door handle and gently turned it to open the door.
She stood at the door and looked at the open balcony in the room with her eyes wide open. She rubbed her eyes in disbelief. For a moment, she wondered if she had entered the wrong room.
"Are you satisfied with it?"
With his hands in his pockets, Shen Yanfeng walked behind Su Liyang, asking.
Su Liyang was still in a state of bewilderment. She turned around, casting her eyes upon his exquisitely handsome visage. Unaccountably, her cheeks felt a slight warmth.
His visage appeared immaculate, as if it had been chiseled with utmost precision. The stray hair on his forehead naturally hung down, partially covering his peach blossom eyes that could instantly tug at one's heartstrings, the high and straight bridge of his nose, and his slender yet rosy lips.
There was a faint smile lingering at the corner of his mouth.
The light in the living room enveloped him from above, and at that moment, Su Liyang felt as if he had walked out of a comic strip, looking dazzlingly handsome.
"You..." Su Liyang pursed her lips and asked cautiously, "Are you sure this is a guest room?"
She never thought that the guest room could have such a large outdoor balcony. From now on, she would enjoy the lazy afternoons on the balcony, soaking up the sun while sipping a cup of tea. It's just so comfortable and cozy.
Shen Yanfeng looked at Su Liyang's slightly reddened cheeks and the pair of confused and surprised eyes, nodding his head: "Hmm, are you not satisfied?"
"Satisfied. I'm really satisfied."
Su Liyang covered her wildly beating heart and quickly bent down slightly to leave from the side of Shen Yanfeng. In order to prevent Shen Yanfeng from discovering her burning face, she quickly put on shoes that didn't fit her feet and dragged her suitcase into the room with difficulty. Then she slammed the door mercilessly.
Shen Yanfeng who was locked outside the door shook his head with a helpless smile. She was still as careless as when she was a child. Especially the scene just now, it was like a child caught red-handed wearing adult shoes.
Shen Yanfeng stepped into the study and turned around to close the door. He dialed the phone number of Tang Shanyan.
Clang. Tang Shanyan picked up the phone. "Hello, Yanfeng, are you home?"
Shen Yanfeng stood in front of the window of the study and said, "Yes."
Originally, Shen Yanfeng had intended to remain at the hospital, but his mother insisted that he return home tonight, emphasizing that he absolutely needed to meet the girl. Faced with this predicament, Shen Yanfeng hurriedly completed his tasks and hastily departed from the hospital.
However, as soon as he got home, he saw someone sleeping soundly on a hammock.
On the phone, Tang Shanyan touched the mahjong tiles in her hand and asked worriedly, "Is Liyang all right? You didn't yell at her or give her a hard time, did you?"
Shen Yanfeng felt at a loss for words and pursed his lips. Did his mother perceive him as someone who would intimidate others for no reason...
Thinking of the way Su Liyang slept on the hammock earlier, Shen Yanfeng couldn't help but lift the corners of his mouth and say, "No."
"That's good, that's good." Tang Shanyan was relieved. "Liyang will stay at your house for a while. Treat her kindly. She's been exhausted from her daily dance practice. You'd better take good care of her. And..."
Shen Yanfeng listened to his mother's endless chatter on the phone, feeling a slight headache. He rubbed his temples and reluctantly responded, "I understand."
"Oh, by the way, I think Liyang is good in all aspects. You have to seize the opportunity and see if you can..."
