The Cold Alpha Has Claimed Me
RUBY
“A year ago, you moaned my name 68 times, that wild sex in bed, right?” his baritone voice, followed by his strong arms locking me to the wall.
My breath felt stuck in my throat; out of all the possibilities, I never expected to meet Luther Storm again.
Luther has gray eyes that sparkle when his wolf is in charge. He is the Alpha of the SageMoon pack, the best Alpha in Philadelphia because his pack is the largest.
He closed the distance between us until my eyes shifted to see his broad chest. The muscles on his body showed how active he was in maintaining his heavy exercise.
“Did I get the wrong person?” he said again, sniffing my slender neck this time.
My eyes were closed as if he was undressing me in the middle of the crowd now. The sinful night I had a year ago, a human-like me shouldn’t have gotten involved with the Alpha of the werewolves, and worst of all, I had a one-night stand with Luther.
“Pardon, I-I don’t understand what you’re talking about,” I replied with a slightly trembling voice; I thought Luther wouldn’t remember me anymore.
Historically, humans and werewolf clans have long made peace after the great war hundreds of years ago, but the hierarchy between us still exists today.
Even though humans and werewolves have lived side by side, the werewolves rule all over Pennsylvania with their power, and Luther is the best Alpha in Philadelphia.
Werewolves are prohibited from falling in love with humans, and vice versa. In their eyes, humans are just a disgusting race, weak and not worthy of being their destined mates. That’s what my grandmother always taught me.
“Well, My bad! It seems I got the wrong person.” Luther stepped back.
Even though Toby brought me here, I was still confused about this situation. I didn’t expect him to take me to the house pack area.
Luther’s name is quite famous among human business people because of his way of ruling. Luther robbed immoral businessmen and prospered his pack. He hijacked the mining business and expanded his territory.
Toby came and hugged me tightly. “Let me introduce you, Alpha Luther. She is my girlfriend,” he said.
Luther entered the house. “Which girlfriend are you, this time?” he replied.
Toby rolled his eyes lazily and led me to sit opposite Luther. I knew Toby was from the Gamma clan, and our meeting was unexpected. Toby pursued me as a woman, but I didn’t have a heart for him.
“I’ve told you before, right? My friend has a medicine that can save your sister.” Toby said again
“What?” I mumbled. How could that be? Why Alpha Luther?
I was so desperate about my sister’s illness, and as a human, I made my last choice to ask for help from the werewolves.
“Alpha Luther will definitely help us with this, and I am sure your sister will be saved,” Toby was so sure of his words.
“What medicine do you want?” Luther spoke again.
“Her sister is human, and they are desperate for her heart disease, so you have a medicine for that,” Toby said.
“I have never tried that medicine on humans, I can't give it to you.”
Toby was stunned. “Bro? I brought my woman to you, don’t embarrass me.”
Luther pursed his lips; it was apparent he looked down on me. I was sure it was because of my human scent. An Alpha couldn’t possibly touch a human, but he made love to me so well a year ago.
“I have no relationship with this woman, and she doesn’t know me either, why should I help her?” Luther replied coldly.
“Just think of it as you helping me, Bro! Ruby will agree to be my girlfriend if I get this medicine today.” Toby smiled proudly.
However, my pride could not accept Luther’s rejection. The hospital had given up on my sister; they would let her die slowly. “A-alpha Luther,” I stuttered, not knowing how to pronounce his name. “I mean, Sir, how much does this medicine cost? I will buy it from you.”
“Are you deaf? I said, I will not sell that medicine!” he replied.
“Whatever the price, I will pay,” I whined.
“Is that so? How about 500,000 dollars for one pill?” he replied
That’s an unreasonable price; he wants to look down on me because I’m human.
“Well, let me pay for that, it's just a small amount,” said Toby.
I shook my head sadly. “No! You don’t need to do this,” I replied
“Why not? You will be my lover,” Toby replied firmly.
“I will finish this myself,” I said. I took a few steps back and knelt in front of Alpha Luther. “Can I owe you a few grains first?” my hoarse voice said.
Toby seemed to be unable to accept hearing that I was going into debt for this medicine. His self-esteem was like being questioned in front of me.
“Bro, isn’t this just medicine? It’s not something valuable, why won’t you help at all?” Toby protested.
“That’s the rule! Don’t interfere in human affairs, let them mind theirs,” said Luther, making that the final decision
Toby dragged me; he couldn’t stand seeing me kneeling. Getting into his car, Toby hit the steering wheel repeatedly. “Fuck, he’s such a cold-blooded bastard, just because he’s an Alpha and…”
Toby turned to look at me. “Don’t think too much about it; I’ll take care of this.” He was responsible for me.
Not long after, my phone rang. Someone had sent me a message: “Come here if you need it.” I scrolled through my phone screen.
I glanced at Toby. He was handsome, Gamma, and falling in love with me should be very risky for him. But would he still accept me if he knew I slept with Luther?
“Please drop me off here, I want to walk around for a while,” I said.
“What? No! It’s already night, it’s not good if you wander around alone.”
“I will only be sadder to see my sister if I go home early, so please let me find peace for a moment.”
“Alright, call me if you need anything,” he said.
I rushed to find a taxi and went back to the house. With his cold face, Luther stood at the door; a little awkward, I approached him and asked him, “How did you find my contact?” I asked
“I forgot, what was your name just now?” Luther asked me.
“Ruby!”
“little human, your full name!” his tone was firm.
“Ruby Miller,” I answered stiffly.
“Ms. Miller? Sleeping with me again?” he showed his smirk. Wait, does he really still remember me?
