Chapter 1

New Mexico, USA

Scarlet's POV

“ I don't like this idea” I told them with a scornful look, flipping my hair behind my back. My mum let out a soft sigh and gently shook her head.

“ You have no choice, Scar, the school's great. You'll love it”. She assured me, but I shook my head vigorously.

“ No mum, I like Bretshe High better” I told her looking away from her prying eyes. “ I didn't tell you to get yourself expelled ” She snapped and my eyes burned in fury.

“ I didn't do it on purpose Mum, it was an accident. I defended taking my seat at the dining table”

“ That got you expelled, Scar, what were you thinking?” Her voice was getting louder and I was getting pissed off.

“ That was a month ago Mum, you don't have to bring it back” I flared and instantly kept mute when I realised I was too harsh.

“ You're going there and it's final” She finalized and I blew out an angry breath. “Whatever “ I said and stood up, storming out of the dining room, giving deaf ears to her calls.

“Scar dear, where're you going?” My nanny, Juliet asked. She was the only one I really loved here and my dad. My mum was just a pain in the ass.

“ My new school. I really don't want to go” I whined and plopped down next to her on the sofa resting my head on her shoulder. She let out a laugh that filled the air with warmth and I found my frown creasing to a smile.

“ Don't mind your mother, just go have them what they want. Give it to them hard” She said and I squeaked in happiness earning a light laugh from her.

“ That's why I prefer you and dad” I told her, leaving her cheeks in kisses and she laughed again.

“I know,” She said in a whisper.

“ Mistress, your ride is here”. We turned to see Jones, my driver stood at the doorway with a polite bow. I heaved a sigh and bade my nanny one last goodbye before getting up and advancing out of my parents luxurious first class mansion.

I got into my Rolls Royce and he drove out of the gates with two SUVs trailing behind us. Sometimes, I wished I was just like every other normal girl.

********* ********

Scarlet's POV

The SUVs parked at the parking lot before my Rolls Royce also parked at the lot. I could see people staring, gawking and glaring. Maybe I had taken their parking space, too bad. The door was held open for me by Jones and I hopped down with my bag slid over my shoulder. I adjusted my leather jacket and flipped my hair behind my back, then raised my chin up and strolled to the school's entrance.

Jones walked beside, tapping lightly on his tablet while I scanned the environment. I could spot jocks circling a car. Some cheerleaders gawking at me and the rest of some random kids just staring.

“ Your schedule has already been fixed and you have your locker kept clean. No 218”. Jones told me and I nodded as we got in the hallways.

More stares, this was so weird and annoying. “ Your father has a video call for you” He informed me and a small smile crept to my lips.

“ Give it”, I told him and he handed me the tablet. I swiped it to answer and my father's handsome face popped on the screen.

“ Hey Tigress, how are you doing?” He asked with a wide beam I had to return.

“They're all staring weirdly at me. It's giving me the creeps” I told him honestly and he laughed lightly, his eyes showing genuine humour. I just loved him.

“ That's because they're scared of you tigress, okay, I gotta go now, bye” He hung up before I could utter a word. That's the hard part. He hardly had time for me

I handed the tablet back to Jones and looked up to see people gradually leaving the hallway.

I forgot to introduce myself, I am Scarlet Hanks, daughter and heiress to the Hanks Industries. My parents are Billionaire's and I didn't care. I am 5.7 feet, o have light brown eyes, nice lips, and got my mother's curves. I have jet black hair but I dyed the front lock red, which made me look really cool. I hated most people. I was somewhat badass from my former school's records. I hated proud bitched and I would never let anyone intimidate me. I knew I was very beautiful but I didn't really care. I didn't do boys and I had no time for them. I hated the luxury I lived in but I still appreciated it. But I swore I'd punch anyone who'd call me a proud snob. Real bad. I was very fond of my nanny and father because I was the only child. My dad often called me Tigress because he thought I was fierce and cool, and I loved it when he called me that.

“ Ma'am, you have calculus now”. Jones told me and I nodded and trailed behind him while he led the way. Jones was a great guy. He'd been my driver and somewhat P.A since I was a kid and I respected him very much for that. I was quite fond of him.

He held the door open for me and I got un, murmurs immediately filled the air. I strolled to the back seat and sat while Jones stood next to me tapping his tablet. He was just getting everything in order for me, and after today, I'd be alone.

“Your mother wants to speak with you”. Jones told me and I rolled my eyes crossing my arms over my chest.

“Hang it”. I replied and he did just that. That's what I loved about him. He was straight to the point, no argument or discussion.

I scanned my classroom for a minute . People just seemed to whisper and stare. Weirdos. The door opened and a slightly bald man stepped in hurriedly.

“ Okay, Let's get to work, sorry I'm late.” The man said apologetically that it made me snort. Pathetic.

“ I guess we could just revise what we did earlier last week.” He said and I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

“ Or you could just start afresh.” I spoke up, earning everyone's attention.
