The Tail of The Accursed Moon.
Epilogue.
Beep beep.
“Sir, sir I need you to stand back now, we need to take a look at the patient!” The nurse tried to push the alpha back.
…
…
..
Beep, Beep, beep,
Silence.
I could feel it, the last five minutes of my life, they say your life flashes before your eyes when you are about to die, but why do I feel only relief?
“JASMINE! JASMINE!” My mom was screeching, I could almost imagine her tear-stained face, the pain in her eyes, but I swear I feel like laughing, “why are they here now? When am I about to die?
“Clear!” The nurse charged the machine again, and the electric shock felt like a tingle. “Don’t die on me now Jasmine! Clear!!”
“I am sorry.” I wanted to say but I felt like led, I just was happy that it was finally over, the peace of death.
The peace of silence that lasts forget.
Goodbye wicked world, goodbye humans, and remember, I was innocent of all charges.
CHAPTER ONE: REBEL CHILD.
Jasmine’s pov.
It was a sunny afternoon, I had been stalking my dad around the pack house all day and finally it was my cue, my cue to go on my most anticipated adventure.
“Jasmine, where are you going?”
Sighing, I pushed my baby sister in the face. “Go away Pipper, I don’t need a snitch around me.” Looking left and right, I noticed that the guards were heading to the meeting room, something serious must be going on.
“JASMINE!” Pipper yelled intentionally.
Annoyed I placed my hand over her mouth, yanking her back roughly. “What is wrong with you little sis? Trying to get us caught?!”
“Us?” She jumped at me. “I am coming with you or I am telling dad and mom!” Stomping her feet on the ground like the ten-year-old that she was.
“No!”
…
…
…
“No!” I repeated when she started to glare at me like her eyes held the key to make me change my mind.
“Jasmine!”
“Pipper, I am going into the forbidden forests where the rogues are, it is too dangerous I can’t take you with me! Stay here okay.”
“Lair.”
Taking in a deep, frustrated breath, I bent low to my ten-year-old sister’s eye level, ruffling her white hair I smiled at her.
She had brown eyes but white hair, apparently, she was one of the last full-born healers we had, she was very valuable to the pack and I don’t want anything bad to happen to her, I was disposable but not Piper, she might one day become the leader of this pack, even though I am older.
Pulling her chubby cheeks, I smiled at her. “Do you want to play dress up?”
“Yes.” She shook her head vigorously, and for a minute it seemed like it was going to fall off her neck.
“Good, then why don’t you head to your room, and I will go out for a minute and when I come back we will play dress up?”
“Promise?”
“Pinky promise.” I held out my pinky to her, smiling we crossed pinkies and she walked away.
..
…
..
“Finally.” I looked left and right, the hall was empty, it was finally my cue to leave.
If I had known, I would have stayed home that day, little did I know Piper had a plan of her own, only if I had looked back over my shoulder to see her grinning from ear to ear, maybe just maybe….
…
THE MEETING ROOM.
Alpha Garret stood in front of his generals, they just had to deal with the issues now
“Alpha, at this point, we don’t know how long the forest will hold them down.” Beta Sun explained to him.
“Just yesterday we killed two rogues breaking into the town, there have been a lot of reports of sightings of them at night in town, we need to act fast and now.” General Huzo urged him.
Alpha Garret signed in thoughts, he walked to the large window that overlooked his compound.
“We know this is a tough one Alpha but we just have to do something, no one is safe in here anymore.” Another said behind him.
There was only one way out, the way he had been avoiding ever since his daughters were born, and that was giving one of them as a bride to the red harbour pack.
They controlled the rogues, they can call them off.
“Alpha Garrett, I think now might be the best time to call the Red Harbour pack.”
“Red harbour! Are you out of your mind Zeta Kim, there is no way they will do that for free and we have no idea what their alpha wants! How can we give our princess to him?” Beta sun glared at the zeta who made the suggestion.
“And what about the people? What is one princess in exchange for immunity and protection? Would you rather we all die!”
“Die! No one is dying and isn’t that why we are here Kim! We are here to make strategies!”
“Strategies? Don’t kid yourself sun? What plans could we possibly make? Build more trees? Or wait evacuate the city and move where? To your home town? Oh, wait.” He paused again. “You married a red harbour woman so you are protected!” Zeta Kim fumed at him.
Everyone knew that as long as red harbour blood is in you, the rogues can’t attack you or your family.
“ENOUGH!” Alpha Garret yelled in his alpha voice and they all went silent.
…
…
…
“Huzo?
“Yes, my lord.”
“Have the maids prepare Jasmine, and call the red harbour pack, tell them I agree.” He added in a defeated voice.
“My lord! No!” Beta Sun tried to reason with him.
“Kim is right sun, we can’t hold off the rogues forever, sooner or later, we would give in, why shed innocent blood?” Giving sun a fake smile, he made for the door.
“My lord!” The guards salute him as he passes by.
Kim and Sun had a glare off.
“Are you happy now?”
“Happy? Sun you act like you don’t know this is what’s best for the kingdom, we all know the pack was never going down to her anyway, good riddance.”
“You sly old thing!”
“Oh please, get off your high horses! Now we will all be safe from Rogues and the princess and her rebel ways won’t give us all much of a headache anymore!” He clicked his tongue and sun burst into laughter.
“You sick old man, what’s funny?”
He ignored him while looking out the window at Jasmine who was trying to scale the fence.
“I think Jasmine heard your nonsense and has decided to take matters into her hands.” Sun laughed more and Kim turned around to find her successfully scaling the fence.
“What! No! Guards!” Beta Kim dashed for the door hoping to stop her, and Sun followed behind laughing harder.
Both were so engrossed in stopping her that they did not see Piper scaling the fence too.
