Prophesy of the moon
Ava's POV
I shifted in the bed, but I couldn't feel my husband's warm body close to mine.
Perhaps he went down to drink something to help him sleep well. He often had
Insomnia.
I walked down the stairs to get some milk. I felt a bit uneasy and my wolf had been restless for some time now. I had gone for a run and tried so many things to calm her down, but they didn’t work. Sage was sitting on the stool in the kitchen, drinking some milk.
The room was dimly lit, he didn't turn on the bright lights.
"Can't sleep babe?" I asked.
He hummed in affirmation, I kissed his cheek and opened the fridge to get some milk. I stretched up to get the container from the top part of the fridge, but I couldn't reach it.
I felt Sage's presence behind me. I turned to him with a small smile on my face. He always teased me about my height and ended up doing what I wanted to do.
"I'm sorry," he looked at me.
My smile fell, "Sorry for what..."
A silver knife was plunged into my chest before I could even understand what was happening.
I fell on the floor, trying to pull it out and get myself together so that my wolf, Lia, would heal me, but my strength was already drained, and the silver had started poisoning my blood. I tried crawling away from him. He didn't move, he just kept staring at me, hoping to see me take my last breath.
"I don’t think I can save both of you, Ava."
"The little one is conserving my energy," Lia whispered.
Little one? Was I pregnant?
And I was about to die with my unborn baby inside of me.
I was struggling to breathe properly.
Suddenly, the door opened and my twin brother, Alvin, walked in.
I stopped struggling. Finally, someone to save me.
"Alvin, help!" I cried silently. I could already feel life slowly slip out of my body.
Alvin looked at me with no emotion on his face, "Finally, Babe, I was wondering if you started liking my sister or something else."
"I'm glad you didn't forget where you belong to." My brother walked towards Sage and kissed his cheek, forehead and then his lips. They made up on the kitchen island.
Eww! That’s so disgusting!
I couldn't comprehend what was happening at that point.
I was the Luna of Crowfowd pack. My parents were the former rulers, and they stepped down after I got married to my betrothed, Alpha, when I was 23 years old.
They always said they had special children because my twin brother was a failure. He couldn't fight, he wasn't good at academics, there was nothing he was good at, he always failed at everything he did. At some point in our lives, our parents stopped talking to him for some time, and I became their shining gold, but that didn't make me stop loving my brother, although he didn't feel the same. He always thought I was the worst person in the world. He often told me that he hated me even when I tried to convince him that I loved him.
I would stand up to my parents and tell them to stop making him feel unwanted.
They had no choice but to listen to their 'Shining Gold'. I knew that my brother was disappointed in himself, but hell broke loose when they decided to transfer the crown and leadership to me, since I was betrothed to a powerful Alpha from a neighboring pack. My brother started drinking throughout the night, and even sleeping with the omegas in the pack.
One day, a year ago, he changed. He stopped drinking and started behaving lovingly towards me. I was a bit dumbfounded, but that's what I wanted my whole life. For once in my life, I felt like my family was perfect. My marriage was just six months by then. My brother joined the administrative professionals and was doing quite well. My parents were proud, and the pack was peaceful.
All I had ever wanted.
Even if someone had told me that my loving husband would pierce a knife through my chest, and my brother would be his accomplice, I would never have believed.
What would happen to my parents? My pack? This can't be the end.
I looked at them again, they were making fun of me as I gasped for air. Help wasn’t coming from anywhere.
So this was it? This was how I would die?
I didn't say a word, my eyes fluttered shut and that was when I took my last breath.
The last thing I heard was my husband and brother laughing.
They had turned their backs on me, with joined hands.
My eyes fluttered open, I sat up quickly, and I saw a lady in a glistening gold gown. She had a tight smile on her face.
She gestured to me to come close to her. She looked like she was in her late 30s, still very young with brown skin and jet-black hair.
Everywhere was cloudy, as though we were in the sky, walking in clouds.
I walked towards her, trying to see if I would fall.
Oh… I forgot I’m already dead.
Maybe this is the afterlife. Even if I came here too early, you'd never know what would happen next. I could be given an award as the most doting wife and caring sibling.
After all, anything can happen.
"Luna Ava Morales, I have been watching you since you were born."
"You have continued to make me proud every single time," she held my hand and smiled at me. I smiled back at her.
At least someone is proud of the woman I became.
"Who are you?"
"Moon Goddess?" I scrunch my eyebrows.
"My name is Elie."
"And you are not supposed to be here right now."
"Your generation needs you."
"You are the solution to the generational curse that will arise in the future if not everyone is wiped out."
"The prophecy still needs fulfillment."
"If not, they’ll come for it," she looked me straight in the eyes.
"You have to go back."
"What do you mean by the generational curse? We aren't under any curse, and the pack is peaceful. I can't go back now."
"I'm already dead and there are still some questions that need answers," I pleaded with her.
"You'll get to know them in due time."
"You have to be strong, he's coming." She touched my eyes and everything became dark.
