Chapter One

I slowly opened my eyes, blinking against the dim light that came through a small window. My head throbbed, and I felt confused. Where was I? The last thing I remembered was darkness, just a blank space in my mind. The only thing I knew for sure was my name:

Emily.

As I looked around the small room, unease settled in my stomach. The walls were bare, and the air felt cold and damp. A strange smell lingered, making me feel even more anxious. Why did I feel so scared? Something deep inside told me that I was in danger.I took a deep breath and swung my legs over the side of the bed, trying to steady myself. My legs felt weak, but I pushed through it. I needed to escape and find out what was happening.

The urge to remember anything about myself was overwhelming.

With my heart racing, I walked over to the door. I pressed my ear against the cool wood, listening for any sounds outside. The house was eerily silent, but a strange tension hung in the air. I turned the handle slowly, my pulse pounding in my ears.

The door creaked open, revealing a dark hallway. I hesitated for a moment, fear creeping back in but I knew I had to move. I stepped out, my bare feet making soft sounds on the cold floor.

The hallway was empty, but I could feel something was off. I needed to find answers, and I needed to do it quickly.

As I walked cautiously, I noticed strange symbols carved into the walls. They seemed familiar, like pieces of a puzzle, I couldn’t quite put them together. I shook my head, trying to clear my mind. I needed to focus.

Suddenly, I heard a low growl echoing from deeper in the house. My heart stopped. I turned to run back to my room, but before I could move, a figure stepped out of the shadows. I gasped as a man appeared before me, towering and powerful.

He was in his werewolf form, with thick fur that shimmered in the dim light. His eyes were a bright red, glowing like embers in the dark. Despite the fierce look, there was something

Undeniably handsome about him, almost angelic.

“Who are you?” I whispered, my voice trembling.

“I am Vincenzo, Alpha of the Night Fang Clan,” he said, his voice deep and commanding. And you, Emily, are in great danger.”

His words sent a chill down my spine. “What do you mean? What danger?”

“You don’t remember.” His gaze softened a bit, but there was urgency in his voice. “You have lost your memory, but it is vital that you regain it. Your life depends on it.”

Frustration bubbled up inside me. “I don’t understand! I need to know what’s happening!”

Vincenzo took a step closer, and I felt both scared and drawn to him. “You were taken from your home. There are forces at play, and they want you dead. Tomorrow at dawn, they will come for

you.”

My heart raced even faster. “Why? "What do they want with me?”“Your past is tied to a secret that many would kill to possess. "You are not just anyone; you are important,” he explained, his eyes never leaving mine. “You have the power to change everything.”

Just then, a loud crash echoed from outside, making me jump. “What was that?” I asked, my fear spiking again.

“They are here,” Vincenzo said urgently, grabbing my arm and pulling me close. We have to move. Now!”

Without thinking, I followed him as he led me to a back door that opened into the night. The air outside was cool and filled with the sounds of distant howls and shouting. The realization that danger was closing in made my heart race.

“Where do we go?” I asked, panic rising in my chest.

“Follow me,” he replied, his tone leaving no room for argument. He took off into the woods.

Behind the house, and I hurried after him. The trees loomed overhead, their branches reaching out like dark fingers in the night. The moonlight barely broke through the leaves, making it hard to see.

As we ran, my mind raced with questions. Who was I really? Why was I important? Despite my fear, I felt a strange connection to Vincenzo. There was something about him that made me feel safe, even in the midst of danger.

Suddenly, I heard a rustling sound behind us. I turned to look, and my stomach dropped.

A group of shadowy figures was following us through the trees, moving fast. I could feel panic rise in my throat.

“Faster!” Vincenzo shouted, and I pushed myself to run harder. My heart was pounding, and I could barely keep up with him as we raced deeper into the woods, I could hear the shouts of our pursuers growing louder. I didn’t know who they were or what they wanted, but I knew one thing for sure: I had to survive.

Just when I thought I couldn’t run anymore, Vincenzo led me to a clearing. He stopped, turning to face me. “We need to hide. They can’t find you.”

I nodded, my breath coming in quick gasps. “What do we do now?”

Vincenzo looked serious, his red eyes searching for mine. “You need to trust me, Emily. "I’ll protect you, but you have to remember. "Your past holds the key to our future.” As I stood there, staring into his intense eyes, I felt a flicker of hope. Maybe I could find the answers I was looking for. Maybe I could remember who I was. And with Vincenzo by my side, I felt like I could face whatever was coming next. The danger was real, but so was the connection.

I felt with him. At that moment, I knew I had to fight for my life and for the truth.
