From Enemy to Mate: My Alpha Bully
Chapter 1: The Letter
Elodie
I never wanted to be seen. I couldn't care less if I was some shadow, hidden away from the world.
Most days, I kept my head down, finished school and came straight home. No friends, no drama.
Just me and my little room against the world.
My aunt always said omega like me aren't meant to be seen, omega like me are needed to stay quiet, stay low and stay out of trouble.
So when the letter came, I thought it was a joke.
It looks expensive, black paper, silver edges and a wax seal with a strange mark I had never seen. And surprisingly, it had my full name on it.
“To Elodie Quinn of the silver dust pack.” Nobody ever used that name. Not even my aunt.
I held it for a long time before opening it. I exhaled deeply, my heart beating faster than it should as I stared at it.
Inside was just one line. Written in gold ink;
“You've been selected to attend Alpha academy. Report by the next full moon.”
That's it. No explanation, no return address, just those words which sounded so strange and weird to me.
I sat on my bed, staring at it and waiting for it to disappear like some kind of dream.
Alpha academy?
Trying to make sense of this has my head banging. My thoughts are lost in perplexing.
First of first, why am I being invited? A low omega? The school wasn't for people like me, it was for Alphas. Future leaders, strong wolves, warriors, not omega who hadn't even shifted and isn't close to getting her first shift.
I swallowed hard and folded the paper. I'm sure they've been some mistakes. Maybe someone sent it to the wrong address, maybe there was another Elodie out there, one with the real wolf who isn't an omega.
Standing up from my bed, I head to my aunt's room and show her the letter. Maybe she will have answers to this.
She grabbed the letter ,read it silently and looked at me like she was seeing a ghost.
“This.. is impossible,” she whispered. “They don't invite omegas. “
Exhaling deeply, I nodded. “That's why I thought_”
“You're going,” she said sharply, cutting me off before I could utter a word. Her hands were shaking. “They wouldn't invite you unless they had a reason. We can't just do it.”
Her words left me stunned and speechless for a while. What reason would they have to invite a low omega like me? Someone who had been a laughing stock in every day of her life. Maybe the person enjoyed me being the center of attention and tends to make my life worse by giving me this invitation.
The person might think they're giving me a chance to be seen but no, they will only make things worse for me. I have already had enough being mocked in the pack, not to talk of somewhere filled with the rich kids, who will be irritated by the sight of a poor kid, a low omega like me.
“But aunt mel,”
“No,” she snapped, cutting me off as if she had read my mind and knew what I wanted to say.
“This could be our only chance to fix everything.” she assured, her tone a little bit fret.
Like she wasn't sure but afraid of the outcome.
“Give this a chance,” she was holding my hands, her face beaming with a smile. “Who knows, you could up with the most popular boy in school.” She teased at me.
I have always heard stories like that. Especially in novels when the strange destitute girl who happens to enter the school through scholarship always finds herself in a triangle stuck between the male protagonist and antagonist.
I'm sure my story would be different. I will stay out of trouble like I always have been doing. Who knows maybe, after the academy, I can become somebody in this pack and have a better position other than being an omega.

A week later, I was packed and sitting in the backseat of a black SUV, headed towards the mountain. Towards the academy.
Tension and apprehension runs through my body in each passing minute. I will miss my aunt so much. And most especially, my room. My quiet place.
The academy appeared after sunset, it looked like something from a movie. Huge stone walls, towers with glowing lights and a silver gate opened without a sound.
The air smelled like pine, cold wind, and something wild underneath it all. Wolves. Real wolves.
A few students stood by the entrance. They were all taller, dressed in a black, and had the kind of I would never understand. Their aura was strong. Merely looking at them, one could tell they were those born with a silver spoon. Golden spoon, unlike me, was born with a rubber spoon.
One girl stared straight at me as I stepped out of the car, she was beautiful. With long dark hair and a cold, sharp face.
She smiled but not in a friendly way. It was a smile of disgust. Her lips curled in distaste as she drifted away from me.
“Omega,” she said under her breath. I heard it clearly. It was like a slap to my face but I wiped it away and followed the driver throughout the gate.
Inside, everything was bigger than I expected. Marble floors. A glowing blue crest on the ceiling. People were walking in groups, laughing, talking like they owned the place. I shot different glances at them, but no one looked at me.
And not quite long, the driver stopped at a desk. “ Elodie Quinn,” he said, referring to a woman seated at the desk.
The woman looked at me and narrowed her gaze back to where it was. She typed something on a glowing screen, then gave me a small wristband.
“Dorm B3,” she said. “ Omega wing. Curfew is 9pm. Your wolf status is unconfirmed,so you'll be tested at sunrise.”
I wanted to ask what she meant by the “ unconfirmed,” but my throat felt too dry.
I walked down the long hallway, passing pictures of powerful wolves and past champions. Every single one of them looked strong. Confident and fearless.
Do I really belong here?
When I got to my dorm, the hallway was quiet. The door creaked when I opened it, the room was small and dark. No fancy light, no view, just a bed, a desk, and a window facing a brick wall.
Taking a deep breath, I sat down and pulled the letter from my bag again.
Why me? Would I be able to survive in the red moon High? A school meant for the powerful bloodlines.
