Warning: Very Mature Content Ahead "Say you're not leaving," he growled against my lips, his voice hoarse as he was thrusting deep inside me. "Say it." “I…I…” My breath broke, tangled in the storm of his touch, his scent, his hunger. “You don’t get to leave me,” he hissed as he bred me with his pup. “You are mine. Mine to keep. Mine to ruin. Mine forever.” —— Amelia was Silas’s fated mate, his wife, and the Luna of his pack. But to him, she was nothing more than a burden. For four years, she carried the weight of her vows, fulfilling her duties as Luna while silently yearning for the love of the man who despised her. Silas never touched her, never softened toward her, and never saw her as more than the woman who “trapped” him in marriage. When his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth returns, pregnant with Silas’s pup, Amelia’s fragile hope shatters. With her heart in pieces, she asks for a divorce. But the moment the word “divorce” leaves her lips, Silas’s wolf snaps. For the first time, he claims her body and soul. Amelia offers him one last chance: choose between his past and his wife. His answer comes in the cruellest way possible—signed divorce papers. Broken, betrayed, and secretly carrying his child, Amelia vanished. Three years later, fate brings them face-to-face again. This time, Amelia is stronger, more radiant, and no longer the woman who begged for his love. She is the lost daughter of the strongest Alpha in the land, a self-made billionaire, and the woman every Alpha desires. When one Alpha kneels before her and whispers: “For you, I will burn the stars and steal the moon. Be mine, My Lady.” A furious growl shakes the earth. From the shadows, Silas steps forward, his eyes burning with possessive rage. “Back off. She is my Luna.”

Chapter 1

Amelia’s

“Luna, are the preparations done for the banquet tonight?” Betty, a maid, asked in a clipped tone, her eyes avoiding mine as if speaking to me was beneath her.

My name is Amelia. I’ve been married to Silas Thorne, the Alpha of the Nightgale Pack, for the last four years. You’d think being the Luna, the Alpha’s mate, would mean privilege, power, and respect. But I didn’t even have the basic decency afforded to a regular pack member.

Everyone hated me. No one respected me. Most days, I bow my head and endure in silence. On other nights, I cry myself to sleep.

“Be quick about it,” Betty snapped. “The Alpha will be here any moment with Miss Elizabeth. He won’t be pleased if you can’t handle the one thing you’re good at.”

Elizabeth was Silas’s ex-girlfriend. His one true love.

Even after Silas discovered I was his fated mate and marked me as his Luna, he kept his heart locked away for Elizabeth. It kills me to know that the man destined to love and cherish me only ever loved her. He has never hidden it, either. He has always reminded me: he feels nothing for me except hatred.

In these four years, I have been nothing more than an unwanted presence in his life. Just a weak Omega with no power, no beauty, no background. A useless Luna who couldn’t even defend herself. I learned to manage the pack with the little knowledge I picked up in foster care.

And I don’t blame Silas for hating me. How could he not? Compared to Elizabeth, who has a powerful wolf, striking beauty, golden curls, honey-colored eyes, and a magnetic presence, I’m nothing. I am just a short, plain girl with copper hair and ghostly blue eyes that people find unsettling.

Suppressing the ache in my chest, I buried myself in work. But the pain of a decaying mate bond was ruthless, far too much for me to bear. Silas, being a strong Alpha, didn’t feel it the way I did. My body, my spirit, and my heart were too weak to withstand it.

Sometimes, I even laughed at the irony, like how pathetic it was that I would be the first in the pack to die from a decaying mate bond. And somehow, I didn’t even blame him.

This pain?

Maybe I brought it on myself.

Later that afternoon, I had to report to Silas about the banquet for his mother’s birthday, which was only three days away. I dreaded it. Since Elizabeth returned, Silas refused to even look at me.

My palms grew clammy as I approached his office. My heart pounded with every step while insecurities clouded my thoughts. Then I heard a soft and melodic laughter.

I froze.

I could recognise this voice anywhere. Elizabeth.

Another laugh followed. It was masculine. Silas.

In all these years, I’d never heard him laugh like that, not even once. But with her, it came so easily.

Jealousy stabbed at my chest. She could make him laugh. I couldn’t even make him smile.

I crept closer, my heart in my throat. Why was she in his office? He never let anyone into his personal space. But the rules never applied to Elizabeth, did they?

Another laugh rang out. I clenched my fists, swallowing the pain.

Just as I raised my hand to knock, a voice made me jump. “Luna, what are you doing here?”

It was Beta Jade, Silas’s right-hand man. His contempt for me matched his Alpha’s.

At the sound of his voice, the door swung open. Silas stood there. His jacket was off, his shirt slightly unbuttoned. Elizabeth appeared behind him, adjusting her dress, but she smiled at me sweetly.

She walked over to Beta Jade, greeting him with a radiant smile. He smiled back, warm and admiring.

I swallowed hard, holding back tears.

“Amelia,” Silas sneered, “how low can you get? Were you eavesdropping?”

“I…”

Elizabeth stepped beside him and took his hand. Even in heels, I barely reached her shoulder.

I hated how perfect she looked; golden, radiant, untouchable.

And me? A shadow with copper hair and ghostly eyes.

“I—”

“Speak!” Silas barked.

Elizabeth’s voice was soft and angelic. “Maybe… she is just feeling insecure. We have been spending a lot of time together. I can understand her concern. She is your wife, after all.”

That one word—wife—made Silas’s eyes blaze with hatred.

“I should go,” Elizabeth said quickly, “I shouldn't have come here.”

“Miss Elizabeth—” Jade began.

“You’re not going anywhere, El,” Silas said, grabbing her wrist. He turned to me. “Get out.”

“I—I came to report on the banquet—”

“Get. Out.”

He took a step forward. “Don’t ever come near me or Elizabeth again with your pitiful face. How many times do I have to tell you? I hate you. I loathe your existence!”

“Silas, please don’t be angry with her,” Elizabeth said, placing a calming hand on his arm.

“You’re too kind, Miss Elizabeth,” Jade added. “Some people just aren’t worth your kindness. Don’t be fooled by her pitiful act; she tricked the former Alpha into giving her this title. She is nothing but a parasite and a disgrace to the pack.”

Tears burned my eyes. I wanted to deny it, but before I could speak—

“Get out, you vile woman!” Silas shouted.

My legs gave out as I turned. Something caught my foot. I tripped, just as Elizabeth stumbled beside me and fell to the ground.

“Silas! Save me!” Elizabeth cried. “I’ll hurt the baby!”

The room went still.

Silas's eyes widened. He looked at me with pure venom. “If anything happens to our child, I’ll never forgive you,” he hissed.

My heart stopped.

“S-she’s pregnant?” I whispered.

He didn’t deny it. He didn’t apologise. He didn’t even look ashamed.

The man who refused to touch me for four years had gotten another woman pregnant.

Suddenly, the agonising pain of the decaying mate bond made sense.

I’d been suffering for his betrayal… alone.

I stood frozen as Silas helped Elizabeth to the sofa. He wrapped her in his arms, murmuring comforts.

“Our baby is okay. You’re safe. I’ll always protect you.”

I was the Luna. His wife. But I felt like the other woman.

Silas turned to me when Elizabeth had calmed, rage still in his eyes.

“Apologise to her,” he ordered.

My mouth parted in disbelief.

Apologise?

He got his mistress pregnant… and he wanted me to apologise?

My blood boiled. I looked at Elizabeth, my mate’s mistress, carrying his child. She knew we were fated mates. She knew he was married. And yet she had no shame. She slept with a married man? The same man she discarded when he proposed marriage? When he finally married someone else, she returned, slept with him and broke the marriage.

And now I, the Luna, was being forced to apologise to these shameless people?

They should be the ones begging for forgiveness.

Not me.
