A WEEK EARLIER

The day was gradually fading and the night was creeping in, the lights to the surgery room was still on. They have been in there for almost three hours, she paced to and from, drenched in sweat.

She sat on the chair, her face in her palms as tears streamed down her face, pleading, "Please, don't die, I don't have anyone else".

She was scared, death will mock her once he claims his life, he was already a part of her life and she wasn't willing to loose him.

The lights finally went out and she spranged to her feet as a lifeless body was wheeled out.

For a moment, she felt dumb and numb, she didn't understand what was going on.

She rushed to meet the doctor, shivering in fear, "Doctor, how is he?".

He took a pause, turned to her with his hands on her shoulder. He heaved a long sigh, "I'm sorry, he couldn't make it".

Time froze!

Her head spined in circles!

She was numb!

Her world crumbled right in front of her!

All the struggles and he still chose to leave her.

"Nooooooooooooooo!"

"We are so sorry".

He left her there because he couldn't do anything to help.

She hurried to the room they had wheeled him to, demanding to see him.

She screamed, crying hard, "Why did you choose to leave me? I loaned the money for your surgery!!!!".

She cried, shaking him vigorously like he would wake up.

The nurses had enough already and pulled her out of the room.

"No, my father is not dead!! He is not dead! Wake him up, he can't just die!!!!!!".

She yelled as she was dragged out of the room.

"This is an hospital and we will advice you keep your voice down, we sympathize with you for your loss".

He was truly gone!

Isolda ran out of the hospital in tears, heading home as she muttered some words. "Inola you caused this and I will never forgive you for what you have done. You ruined me!!".

She ran as fast as her legs could carry her.

She was ruined and doomed!

Mr Philly was Isolda's adoptive father, she was taken in at 10, he was an average man who wanted to know the feeling of having a child, she grew to love him as a father.

He was diagnosed of heart disease, she struggled to pay the bills and he didn't make it.

Her heart ached so much that she felt like dying as she ran all the way to the house.

In a large room perfect for a lady at 25 with photos around the room. The room screamed luxury but sorrow lurks in the shadows.

The light were dimmed and warm, a figure sat by the window, watching the stars and doing what she loves doing, Photography.

Her long blonde hair castrated down, almost touching her waistline.

The clinking sound of the camera was the only sound one could hear in the room, she looked into the sky and the moon felt off in it's position.

She dropped her camera as the cool breeze kept hitting her soft skin and she sighed, her mind drifting off to Isolda.

The fiddling sound of keys was heard and she didn't bulge from where she sat.

It was her father!

Her adoptive father she never wished to see.

He strode into the room, his shoulder high and his face turning sour as he found her in that position, "I'm I too small to be acknowledged?"

She said nothing but gazed into the sky, holding back her tears.

His chest rose and fell in anger but he decided to put his anger aside for later. He started off, "That's a marriage contract, you are getting married in a week time".

She turned to look at him like he just made a worthless statement.

"What did you just say?".

He chuckled at her sharp retort and replied, "Whether you accept or it none of my business, you are getting married to him".

She rose to her feet not willing to accept anything as she yelled, "You can't control my life just because I was adopted, I have been living off your rules since I was 15, you forced me into studying a course I never liked, you didn't let me chase my dream and now you want me to get married to a man I have never even met!"

To him, she was making a noise and he spoke up angrily, "You are my heir, you can't be taking that useless camera everywhere. I bought you, spent a lot to make you who you are, you have no choice but to abide by my rules"

The tears she had been fighting rolled down freely, her fist clenched tightly, she is stuck with him forever.

She didn't want to drag the matter further and proceeding in asking, "I'm I free now?"

He softened his voice before responding, "Of course, don't think of running away, I will surely find you".

Having said all he wanted to say, he walked out of her room leaving the door opened.

She rushed out of the room, running to the gate but was stopped.

The gatekeeper passed the order politely, "Ma'am, please you are not allowed to leave the house once it's 8pm".

She scoffed in shock asking, "Who made that rule?"

"The boss did!".

That's the life of Inola Tornese, she was adopted at 15 and restricted from so many things.

Her life was being directed by the man she calls a father, always claiming he spent a lot on her and can make whatever rule he likes.

She has been locked indoors for weeks that she lost count of the weeks she has been locked up due to an issue she needed his help for but refused to help.

She decided to take the money and was caught, leading to her living like a prisoner in the house.

Also know that Mr Tornese is a wealthy and parsimonious man that will never invest his money in unprofitable business.

She ran back into the house, locked her room, slumped on her bed with tears on her face, crying hard.

Her life was a mess!
