CHAPTER ONE: Betrayal

Reedah’s POV

I walked out of the pack’s hospital, my face bright full with smiles, one can easily tell how happy I was.

For two years, I was a Luna, one without a heir, to the pack’s elder, I seemed more like a failure but my alpha says otherwise.

I am Reedah, the only daughter of the Coral pack, to other wolves, they tend to awaken their wolf at 18 and find their mate anytime soon but not for me.

I couldn’t find my wolf till I turned 20 then comes the disappointment of no mate until my crush decided to ask me out.

Dad passed down the alpha position to him as I was his only daughter and all he wanted was my happiness.

Now I am pregnant, pregnant with his child after hoping for two years. I called my driver to pick me up and he arrived within a minute.

“What took you so long?” I asked immediately I entered the car, I didn’t want anything spoiling my mood as I rubbed my stomach gently.

“You are going to have the best parent and treatment ever child.” I thought.

He answered, “There was hold up along the way, I had no idea you would be fast today.” I nodded in agreement, I was always late before because of the sad news but today was different.

My heart pounded on the thought what if? But I took it off my mind, as the drive slowly started towards the pack.

Getting to the pack, I got out, taking my small purse, my heels gently tapping the floor before walking in.

The house was eerily silent which was unusual as different maids and guards should be around by now, “Where could they be?”

I mind less as I walked upstairs, at first there were slow voices which confirmed my thoughts of people being around but it slowly turned into moans.

My heart started racing, hoping it was something else and not what I was thinking, I walked up fully, slowing down my pace to avoid attractions.

“God knows I hate her guts.” The voice came in, slow at first but then sounded familiar, Tina?

“You just have to endure it for one more year baby. Then it’ll all be over when she dies.” The only voice I couldn’t mistake anywhere came in, Felix.

I gasped, Tina and Felix but why, I slowly opened the door trying not to alert them as they continued.

“I can’t believe she trust you enough to fully hand over the whole pack to you, I mean who would propose to a wolf who couldn’t even tame her own wolf.”

“Why else? She couldn’t find a mate and was so desperate, I happened to be her armor in disguise, don’t you think?” Felix laughed.

This were the two people I trusted the most, the two people I thought were left for me after my parent’s death, whom I thought would always support me.

“The poison should have been working by now, it’s been two years already.” That was Tina.

I staggered backwards, “Yes! Once she’s dead, it’ll just be me and you, then we can rule over the pack together without having to hide from anyone.”

My tears slowly build up, my heart aching, burning slowly from the betrayal I just found out, I barged into the room in anger.

“How dare you!” I screamed, my voice pitch high, the two quickly disengaged staring at me in horror.

“I trusted you guys, I thought you both were the remaining ones left for me but turns out it was all a lie.”

My tears fell rapidly, no one needed to tell me what was happening, I had been betrayed by the one person I entrusted my life to.

At first, I thought I saw remorse on Felix face but it disappeared quickly as it came. “I dont think I have to lie to you anymore, you are disgusting, Reedah.” He said.

“What?” My eyes widened in shock.

“Yes, you are too proud and you think you are all that all because you are the pack’s Luna, just because your father were the rightful owner of this pack.”

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, this wasn’t true, not when my parents loved him like theirs, “You know that wasn’t true.” I said.

“You know what, I’m done with this, you either keep your mouth shot or have yourself banished from the pack.”

I scoffed at his words, “Funny how you think you still have all access to the authority of this pack, have you forgotten who I am? If you don’t want to go further with the lies then so be it.” I said.

Leaving before they could utter more words, my tears finally fell down my cheeks, I ran towards the rooftop in pain.

This can’t be happening to me, not when I am already pregnant, I cried slowly crouching down beside the floor of the rooftop.

Who could have thought this would happened, as I cried, I noticed footsteps coming up which made me look up to see Felix and Tina again.

“What do you guys want?” I glared at them cleaning my tears as I stood up.

Tina had this smirk on her face which made me feel uneasy, “You know I’m sorry Reedah, it was all a joke, a prank, I wanted to see if you still love me as before or you don’t anymore.”

I raised my brow in confusion, “Do you think I’m stupid?”

“No you are not. You really don’t have to sugarcoat her anymore Felix, I’m tired of having to be a mistress while she enjoys you openly.” I rolled my eyes.

“You have always been a bitch aren’t you?”

Then I noticed it, a paper on Felix’s hand, he moved closer. “You wanted a divorce, fine, here you go!” He pointed it at me.

I collected it reading the content to realize it was all favorable to him which made me laugh, “You sure know how to do what favors only you, don’t you?”

He nodded negatively, “No I don’t, but I do know how to make something all mine.” I started getting more nervous.

It was as though something was wrong, he launched towards me pulling me to the edge of the rooftop, I knew immediately what he wanted to do.

“Felix, you can’t do this, I am pregnant.” I shouted but he wasn’t listening, I trembled under him, I was scared.

He said something shocking which made me stared at him in shock, “The accident that killed your parent, I was the one that set them up, guess they were too nosy and wanted to spoil my plans.”

I stopped struggling, my tears flow, I failed them, I failed my parents, I failed my pack, I let in a wild dog who doesn’t know how to be grateful and now my loved ones paid for it.

Before I could respond, he pushed me down from the rooftop, my body landed with a thud, the pain surging through my body, “Moon goddess, please if you can hear me, please grant me a second chance to make amends for my mistakes.”

My eyes slowly went shut then all I saw was darkness!
