A Hybrid Mate For The Lycan Prince: Welcome To Greenville Academy
Imogen just killed someone.
Was this how Brie died? In the tournament where it’s kill or be killed?
“ Who’s next? Who wants to dare fight with me?”
A show of power. Daughter of the Alpha of the Silver Crest pack. A Luna in the making as she had already found her mate- one of the revered alphas in our midst.
“ C’mon, “ she waves her claws in our faces, smirking at our cowardice. She knows none of these weak omegas would try to step in, and the higher ups just sit relaxed in a corner. The hierarchy in this place is sickening. What makes she any different from the lowly wolves?
So I shot up in a hurry, a hurry to end this little game of hers.
“ I accept your challenge. Let’s see what you’ve got.”
I hear the murmurs rising. Who exactly did I think I was to challenge a werewolf? Everyone in here had special abilities, everyone but me. The lowly omegas even considered themselves my superior in the hierarchy. I was no different from humans.
“ Don’t do this, Briseis. Just apologize to Imogen and we’ll hug and forget this ever happened. We’re all friends right? Right Ivy?” My best friend Irene who was a dragon rider, smiled nervously as she glanced around the room. Obviously no one was willing to end this. Not even the ‘Prince’ amongst us.
She nudged Ivy a few times before the girl spoke up. Her voice wavering. “ Irene is right, Briseis. I apologize on her behalf, Imogen. Briseis is still new here, she’s a little… naive,” she shoots me a sympathetic look and signals me to sit my ass down.
“ I accept your offer. First one to draw blood.”
I say again, with gritted teeth. Someone needs to put this bitch in her place.
“ Fine. Don’t come at me for fighting with a mere human girl, she begged for this.”
She lurched at me, shifting into her wolf form ready to devour my flesh as they probably did my sister. The only thing I had on me is a dagger.
She’s almost here. Almost. I’m going to die before I even have a chance to find out what it is I really am.
“ Stop!” I yell and she just froze. Right in the air. She’s just hanging there unable to move.
Did I just, freeze her?
Everyone stood up, panic arising and questions flying up and down. A few students scurry away to go find a teacher and probably Ms. Orlando.
“ Oh my God, Briseis!! I think your signet just manifested!” Irene stated excitedly, hurrying over to my side. My gaze is still fixated on the wolf hanging right in the air, frozen.
What am I?
“ I think you mean her ability? She’s not a dragon rider, Irene. They don’t call it signets,” Ivy corrected her.
What exactly am I?
“ Miss Lockhart, to my office now!”
Oh no.
Irene kept on talking elatedly, she seemed pretty excited than me. Isn’t this what I’ve always wanted? To finally know that I’m not a mere human? To accept this curse and use my abilities to find my sister’s killers?
“ Uhm, before you go,” Amy glanced at Imogen’s wolf still hanging pretty in the air. “ Won’t you do something about that?”
Right. I should do something. But what exactly? I don’t even know I did that in the first place.
“ It won’t take long. I’ll take care of it when I get back,” I hope that was convincing enough? Cause I have no idea how to bring her back to normal. Maybe Ms. Orlando can help.
“ Briseis, now!” Speak of the devil. I sped past my friends, barely catching up with the stern lady who had been in charge of lecturing me from the very moment I stepped foot in this place.
We got to her office and she took her jacket off, slumping into the huge arm chair and gesturing at the free seat in front of her. Am I in trouble? No one’s ever being in trouble for getting their gifts or abilities or whatever it is Irene called it back at the hall.
“ We have a problem, Miss Lockhart. Don’t panic, it’s nothing too… big. Hopefully..”
