Chapter 48 Scheming Against Lin Wan

At first, Wu Heping never thought of approaching Mr. Nan. He wanted Lin Wan only for himself, but he kept failing.

Now that he was left with no choice, he could only ask his friend for help. At the same time, he did not care about whether Mr. Nan would ask him to share Lin Wan with him.

After the call got through, Mr. Nan’s voice came from the other side of the phone, “Brother Wu, it’s been quite some time since I last saw you. Have you forgotten about me?”

Wu Heping answered with a smile, “Of course not. I’ve been busy with work recently, so I didn’t have time to visit you. Well, I’m calling you now, so I hope you don’t take it to heart.”

Hearing Wu Heping’s words, Mr. Nan laughed out loud. After a few moments, he lowered his voice and said, “Are you planning to visit me anytime soon? I have two new girls here, and they’re quite good. I’m sure you’ll be satisfied. How do you think about it? Shall I make an appointment for you?”

“We can talk about that next time. Actually, I’m calling to ask for your help. You have to help me figure out a way!”

“Of course, I’ll help you out! Tell me. What’s the matter?”

“The thing is...”

Wu Heping told Mr. Nan his plan. After hearing his words, Mr. Nan kept silent. A few moments later, he spoke, “Brother Wu, I can help you out with this. But I don’t know whether I ought to tell you this or not.”

“Go ahead. Just speak your mind.”

“Alright then. Brother Wu, although I’m running a brothel, I never force a woman to become a prostitute. It’s not because I’m kind, but it’s very dangerous.”

“I’m going to be honest to you. My girls are here to work voluntarily. After they earn enough, they’ll leave. It’s easier for us to avoid trouble like that.

Speaking of which, Mr. Nan paused for a moment before continuing, “Brother Wu, don’t blame me for being too straightforward. But I don’t think you should risk doing this for a woman. If anything happens to you, your future will be ruined. I’m sure you don’t need me to help you get your priorities straight.”

“That is why I need your help. I need you to deal with this perfectly so that she won’t have any evidence to sue me afterward.”

“It seems like you’ve already made up your mind, huh?”

“Yes! I must get her laid!”

“What’s her background though? I won’t help you if she comes from a high-status family.”

“Don’t worry, she’s a non-local, and she doesn’t have any relatives here. I think her husband is working in some IT company, but she’s not from a high-status family.”

“Well, things would be easier for me then. Otherwise, I won’t be able to help you.”

In fact, Mr. Nan did not want to get involved in such issues. Although he worked in the illicit industry, he always tried to keep things peaceful. He never liked to get himself into trouble.

He was not afraid to reject Wu Heping, but he did not want to spoil his relationship with him.

“Does that mean you’re willing to help me out?” Excitedly, Wu Heping asked.

“You’ve already made up your mind. How can I reject you? I’ll help you out, and I’ll make sure you’ll be satisfied.” Laughing, Mr. Nan answered.

After talking on the phone for a while, they hung up.

All the music teachers, including Lin Wan, were called to the vice headmaster’s office after their lunch break.

Seeing that everybody was present, Wu Heping grinned and said, “I called all of you here to inform you that the headmaster decided to plan a trip for you guys to Nanyun Resort next weekend after work.”

Instantly, cheers echoed around the room. A few teachers were giggling with each other when one teacher asked, “Mr. Wu, why do you suddenly bring us on a trip? What exactly are you up to, huh?”

The person who spoke was a full-time teacher. Teachers like them were managed by the education ministry. Hence, they were not that afraid to speak their minds to their superiors.

Upon hearing that, a few teachers started laughing.

Wu Heping’s blood was boiling, but he did not show his anger. He explained, "Don’t be ridiculous. It’s actually because of Ms. Lin Wan.”

Confusedly, the teachers stared at Lin Wan.

From the moment they entered the office, she kept quiet the whole time. Seeing everybody staring at her, she shook her head, expressing that she had no idea what was going on as well.

“Well!” Wu Heping continued to explain, “Ms. Lin had already handed in her resignation letter, and our headmaster decided to hold a farewell party for her.”

It was only then that they understood the situation. However, they could not ask too much since Wu Heping was there. All of them were looking at Lin Wan pitifully.

From their point of view, Lin Wan was forced to leave by the superiors. They thought the superiors were taking advantage of the contract workers and were chasing her away now that they were done using her.

Of course, the person who took advantage was Wu Heping.

Everybody kept quiet, but Lin Wan spoke, “Mr. Wu, thank you for your kindness. But I don’t think it’s necessary to hold a farewell party. The school is in a tight situation right now. I don’t want the school to waste money because of me.”

“Ms. Lin, you don’t have to worry about that. Our headmaster will bear all the expenses for this trip, so we won’t be using the school’s fund.”

Who would believe what he said?

A few teachers rolled their eyes as they heard Wu Heping’s words. Everybody knew that only smart people could take over that position. Hence, he needed to know how to sweet talk to others.

Frowning, Lin Wan continued, “Thank you for your kindness, but I don’t want to take up other people’s weekend. I think you should cancel the party. I won’t be attending the party anyways.”

Quickly, Wu Heping gave a few teachers a look, hoping that they could help persuade Lin Wan. Little did they know that Wu Heping was scheming against Lin Wan. So some teachers really persuaded Lin Wan that she should come to the party.

The teachers started to persuade Lin Wan, wanting her to attend the party for the sake of them. They wanted to bid farewell to their beloved colleague.

If Wu Heping were the one persuading her, she would ignore him. However, she did not want to let her colleagues down.

After all, she met quite a lot of good friends here throughout the past three years. Although she wouldn’t say she made some best friends here, they were all nice people at least. It was only normal for them to get together before she left.

Left with no choice, Lin Wan could only agree to attend the party.

Instantly, Wu Heping heaved a sigh of relief. He was secretly rejoicing at the thought of getting Lin Wan laid on that day.

...

In the President’s office. He Yang slammed his fist on the table, “Nonsense! It’s not like there’s no other space for her to work. Why would she want to work in the same office with Li Mu?”

Terrified, Tang Quan did not dare to utter a word. He thought that He Xiaoyu went overboard as well. It was as though she was announcing to everybody that she and Li Mu were together.

Then, he thought of how she kept forcing Zhou Zijian to bring her evidence. It showed that her patience was wearing thin, and she was about to shine a light on her relationship with Li Mu.

“What is she thinking about? Is she planning to p*ss me off?” He Yang bellowed.

“Mr. He, don’t be angry. She’s still young...”

“Young? Is 25 years old young? And what is wrong with that Li Mu? Isn’t he already married? Why is he pestering He Xiaoyu then?”

Tang Quan knew that Li Mu wasn’t the one pestering He Xiaoyu, yet he could not simply correct He Yang. Hence, he kept silent.

He Yang had no idea how to deal with He Xiaoyu. He tried everything from scolding to beating her up, yet nothing worked.

“Mr. He, I have a suggestion.”

“Tell me. What do you have in mind?”

“Yan Tao from the mobile internet department wanted to remove Ms. He from the consultation line using the name of consultative selling. Although he failed, I think it’s a good idea to actually reform the mobile internet department.”

“Consultative selling? This is a very good idea. I plan to try this out too. So you mean you want to incorporate all the consultation lines from the mobile internet department into the sales system?”

Nodding his head, Tang Quan answered, “Yes. Put it under Chen Feng’s name, and dispatch Li Mu to out of town. In that case, our problem would be solved.

He Yang hesitated. Although it was a good idea, it was a drastic reformation for the department.

He Yang would not be that worried if they were going to apply the reformation plan in other departments. But the mobile internet department was the largest revenue generator of the company. He was afraid that the reformation would affect the company’s overall income.

Reading He Yang’s mind, Tang Quan smiled and explained, “Mr. He, you don’t have to worry. We’ll take step by step, and everybody can take up new roles slowly. We’ll let everybody adjust to their new positions without affecting the company’s business.”

“Except for Li Mu. We can transfer him to the sales team immediately and assign him to work out of town. In that case, we can separate Ms. He and him.”

After pondering for quite some time, He Yang said to Tang Quan, “Let’s go with your plan then. Ask Yan Tao to pass this message on to his staff. Get all the paperwork done before this Wednesday. Also, remember to inform Chen Feng about this. Ask him to hold a sales meeting on Friday and hand in all the necessary documents by then.”

...

Mr. Yan felt sorry for Li Mu. After all, Li Mu was his best friend. Never did he expect things would end up this way. Not only did he lose his position, but he also had to start all over again.

After smoking a few cigarettes, Mr. Yan decided to give Li Mu a heads up before the company release the official announcement.

He picked up his phone, hesitated for a moment, put it back down, and picked it back up again. After a few moments, he gritted his teeth and dialed Li Mu’s number.

“Li Mu, come to my office. I have something to tell you!”

Soon after, Li Mu arrived. Instantly, he shouted, “D*mn it, Yan. It reeks of cigarette smoke here! Let’s talk in another place.”

However, Mr. Yan opened the window, pointed at the chair in front of him and said, “Just bear with it. I wouldn’t have smoked so much if it weren’t for you.”
