Lin Wan opened the cake box, and Li Mu helped her put on the candles, “Honey, make a wish!”

“It’s not even my birthday today. Why do I have to make a wish?” Lin Wan blushed. Although she said that, she still looked very happy.

Li Mu lit up the lighter.

“Why can’t you make a wish today? All of our friends are gathered here today. It’s such a good day. I’m sure your wish will come true!”

The Fang couple, who were standing aside, chimed in. They kept egging her to make a wish.

“Alright then,” Lin Wan closed her eyes, put her hands together, and made a wish.

After blowing out the candles, Lin Wan said happily, “Thank you, honey. Let’s have some cake.”

“Let me cut the cake. The first piece is for Lin Wan. Thank you for always caring for Li Mu.”

Fang Qiang cut a piece of cake and placed it onto Lin Wan’s plate.

“The second piece goes to my wife. Please have mercy on me tonight.”

Fang Qiang cut another piece of cake and put it on his wife’s plate. Smiling, Du Xinzhu pretended to let out a hum.

“Li Mu, let’s just dig in!”

Laughing, everybody raised their cups and downed their drinks. Lin Wan’s face started to flush red, and she looked extremely attractive.

The two men could not help but drop their gaze on her.

Drunk, Du Xinzhu was knocked out on the table.

“Fang Qiang, bring your wife into the guest room, and let her sober up before you guys leave,” Li Mu said while grinning.

“This girl... She always acts like she can drink when she can’t. This is so embarrassing. I’m sorry.”

Fang Qiang helped Du Xinzhu up and brought her into the guest room.

Leaning against Li Mu’s body, Lin Wan uttered, “Honey, I can’t take it anymore. I feel so dizzy.”

“You should stop drinking then.”

“Alright. I’ll go to heat up some food for you guys. You guys can continue drinking. I’ll accompany Xinzhu later.”

Picking up two plates of food, Lin Wan walked towards the kitchen.

Li Mu drank a lot. Feeling a little uncomfortable, he stood up and headed towards the toilet.

After putting Du Xinzhu in bed, Fang Qiang went back to the dining table and noticed that both Li Mu and Lin Wan were not there. Lin Wan was busy heating the food at the stove.

After entering the kitchen, he leaned on the countertop and stared blankly at Lin Wan’s curvaceous body.

Lin Wan looked back and flashed him a grin, “Is Xinzhu okay?”

“She’ll be fine. She just needs some rest. Her alcohol tolerance is pretty low, so she gets drunk very easily.”

Lin Wan turned around and got back to work. Letting out a light cough, Fang Qiang continued to ask, “Lin Wan, how are you and Li Mu doing these days? Will you guys still fight over that issue?”

Upon hearing his question, Lin Wan was stunned for a moment. However, she didn’t turn back to look at him.

“It’s all in the past. We’re fine now.”

“Lin Wan, I hope you don’t blame Li Mu. He’s a petty-minded person, and he gets suspicious very easily. He’s been like that since young.”

“It’s fine. Li Mu is a very nice guy. We’ve already cleared up the misunderstanding.”

Turning off the fire, Lin Wan turned around and looked at Fang Qiang calmly.

“Lin Wan, I know you feel sad because Li Mu can’t understand you. Everybody can have secrets. Having secrets doesn’t mean that you’re not loyal to your partner. If he really loves you, he should trust you instead of suspecting you.”

“You’re drunk!”

Although Lin Wan sounded calm, she was not pleased with all. She did not like other people talking bad about her marriage, even if the person was her husband’s best friend.

“People under the influence of alcohol are more likely to speak their hidden thoughts and desires. I honestly think that Li Mu is at fault. He keeps flirting with He Xiaoyu, but he puts all the blame on you. Although I’m his best friend, I don’t agree with what he’s doing.”

“Since you’re his best friend, you should criticize him face to face instead of talking bad behind him to drive a wedge between me and him. Fang Qiang, do you think you’re doing the right thing?”

Li Mu spent quite a while in the toilet as he had a stomach ache.

By the time he came out, he noticed the dining room was empty. He could not help but mumble, “That b*st*rd. Is he flirting with his wife? How dare he?”

Subconsciously, he glanced at the guest room and walked towards the kitchen with a vague smile on his lips.

The alcohol in his body was kicking in. His body turned warm, and he felt an urge to become intimate with Lin Wan.

However, as soon as he arrived at the kitchen, he stopped in surprise.

Fang Qiang was leaning against the cupboard, while Lin Wan was leaning against the countertop. It was as though they just had a conversation.

Besides, he noticed that Lin Wan looked a bit unhappy. She seemed pale and cold.

“What are you guys talking about?”

Casting Lin Wan a glance, Fang Qiang pulled Li Mu to the corner and said in a low voice, “It’s nothing. I was asking Lin Wan whether you guys cleared up your misunderstanding.”

Li Mu did not mind at all. After he and Lin Wan broke up last time, he and Fang Qiang did not contact each other. Hence, he thought they were simply catching up.

“What did she say?” Li Mu asked, smiling.

“She said you guys have already cleared up the misunderstanding and patched things up. Haha, it seems like I have worried too much. Let’s go and drink.”

Both of them went back to the dining table and continued to drink.

“Li Mu, it has been quite a while since we had a double date together. What do you think? Shall we hang out together some time?” Fang Qiang asked.

“Sure. Where do you want to go?”

“There’s a new spa resort near North Town. You’ll get to enjoy horseback riding, fishing, mountain climbing, and spas. It’s on me. Go and spend some time with Lin Wan there.”

“Really? I guess that place is big.”

“It’s nearly a dozen square miles big. It just opened, and it’s really popular right now!”

“Have you been there before?”

Fang Qiang smiled mysteriously before saying in a triumphant tone, “Actually, I opened the resort with a partner. I’m the second-largest shareholder of that place.”

Upon hearing that, Li Mu was surprised. He was happy for his friend. It seemed like Fang Qiang was about to step foot in the tourism industry now.

“Hey, why didn’t you tell me earlier? If I had known it earlier, I would have visited your place to support you!”

Wearing a hurt expression, Fang Qiang uttered, “Well, both of you were out of reach. You don’t reply to any of my calls or texts. I even nearly filed a police report.”

Instantly, Li Mu’s face flushed red. Hurriedly, he lifted his cup to make things less awkward.

“Come on, drink up. It’s all set then. Lin Wan and I will definitely visit your place. You’d better make sure to keep your promise and treat us then!”

“When did I ever break my promise before?”

As both of them were talking, Lin Wan brought them their food. After placing the food on the table, she said coldly, “Honey, you guys go ahead and take your time. I’ll go get some rest.”

“Alright then. I’ll spend more time with Fang Qiang.”

Casting Lin Wan a glance, Li Mu noticed that she seemed to be troubled by something. She was not smiling, and she looked cold and annoyed.

What was wrong with her? She was feeling all excited earlier. Why did her mood change all of a sudden? Did Fang Qiang offend her?

Li Mu knew that Lin Wan did not like mentioning that issue. However, Fang Qiang was simply caring for them. He meant no bad intention, so Li Mu was unsure why Lin Wan looked so unhappy.

“Hey, Li Mu,” Fang Qiang beamed, “I think we’ve had enough for today. It’s getting late. Lin Wan must be tired. Let’s drink when you come to my resort.”

Li Mu tried to ask Fang Qiang to stay back, but he insisted on leaving.

“Don’t worry. I have to bring that drunk woman back now. She always vomits after she drinks. I don’t want to dirty your bed. Come to my place. You can visit free of charge.”

Fang Qiang stood up and started at Lin Wan.

Emotionlessly, she looked at him and nodded her head.

“Alright then, I’ll go pay you a visit in a few days,” Li Mu stood up as well.

“Deal. Lin Wan, make sure you come too!”

Smiling, Fang Qiang went to the guest room to wake Du Xinzhu up. Li Mu followed after him as well.

Du Xinzhu got dragged out of the room by Fang Liang.

Suddenly, Du Xinzhu walked up to Li Mu and pointed her finger at him. Smiling, she uttered drunkenly, “Li Mu, it’s very dangerous for Lin Wan to look so pretty. You’d better be careful.”

Upon hearing Du Xinzhu’s words, Fang Qiang lashed out at her, “What the h*ck are you talking about? How dare you say something like that? Li Mu, don’t listen to her nonsense. She’s drunk now. I hope you don’t take it to heart.”

Du Xinzhu struggled in Fang Qiang’s arm, “I’m not drunk. I’m telling you the truth!”

“Cut it out! Let’s go. I’ll deal with you when we get back home!”

Pissed off, Fang Qiang pushed Du Xinzhu out of the door.

Du Xinzhu turned back and flashed Li Mu a silly grin, “I’m not drunk at all. It’s not good for a woman to be too beautiful. You must be careful. She might attract a lot of men!”

“Are you crazy? Cut your nonsense. I’m not going to bring you out next time!”

Carrying Du Xinzhu, Fang Qiang stumbled out the door.

“Slam!” The next moment, Lin Wan rushed up to the door and slammed it shut right away.

Then, she turned to face Li Mu and scolded, “You’d better not invite such people to our house ever again. I didn’t marry you to entertain your friends. Stop hanging out with people like them.”

Li Mu thought it was pretty embarrassing as well. Why would someone say such things in front of other person’s wife? She was literally saying that Lin Wan was being unfaithful to him.

Hurriedly, Li Mu walked up to her and brought her to the sofa.

“Lower your voice, and save me some pride, okay?”

“Did you ever think about my pride then? Look what kind of people you invited to our house. What the h*ck was she trying to say earlier?”

“Just ignore her. She’s already drunk!”

“Drunk?” Lin Wan glared at Li Mu.

“I don’t think she’s drunk though. It seemed like she knew very well what she was talking about. She’s just trying to use alcohol as an excuse. I didn’t prepare them all this food to get treated like that.”

“Forget it, honey. She’s just drunk. Just ignore her. I believe she won’t even remember what she said today after she wakes up tomorrow.”

“I will never forget what happened today. Stop hanging out with them in the future. I don’t want to hear her talking to me like that again!”
