“Mr. Yan, Ms. Lin hasn’t come to school for days. I couldn’t get her to do it!”

Wang Shen expressed his concerns. He wasn’t making it up at all, and he really had no other way. Although this was a good suggestion, Lin Wan would definitely reject him if he were to ask for her help personally.

Mr. Yan said confidently, “That’s not an issue at all. I’ll speak to her personally. I’m sure she’ll do it for the sake of me.”

“Great, I look forward to hearing good news from you. In the meantime, I’ll contact the clothing factory first to schedule a meetup session with them!”

“Go ahead. I’ll let you know when I’ve talked to Lin Wan!”

With that, Wang Shen left happily. Mr. Yan, who did not have any suspicions proceeded to dial Lin Wan’s mobile phone and asked, “Hello, Ms. Lin, are you convenient to talk?”

“Hello, Mr. Yan, is there anything I could help you with?”

“Yeah. Well, the school choir has obtained the panel’s recognition, and the consensus is that we are considered as a very strong competitor for the championship title.”

“Is that so?” Lin Wan’s tone was filled with excitement. These were the results of her hard work. Hence, she was more than pleased to have heard such good news.

“Yes, it’s true! Ms. Lin, I know you’ve put a lot of effort into the choir, and I’d like to congratulate you in advance!”

Lin Wan said excitedly, “Thank you, Mr. Yan. I am really happy for the kids. Their efforts did not go to waste.”

“Right, this is the result of everyone’s joint efforts. Ms. Lin, you, the children, and everyone else involved have worked hard. I should thank all of you!"

Taking advantage of Lin Wan’s joyous mood, Mr. Yan changed the topic and told her about his intention to order custom-made costumes for the choir.

The latter immediately voiced her support. She had always thought that the uniforms looked old-fashioned and awful. Now that there was a chance to make them look more presentable, she certainly would say yes.

Mr. Yan also invited her to be a part of the costume-making process, making it clear that she would oversee all final decisions according to her likings.

Lin Wan was more than happy to accept the invitation. She had a good impression of Mr. Yan. Despite being a little sloppy with his duties, he still acted like an elder and was quite easy-going and upright. She definitely was not wary of him.

What was left was easy. Mr. Yan was straightforward about his concerns, which Lin Wan understood. This was very much in line with how strict and cautious he usually was. On top of that, he did have a point, and it might cause a bad impact.

Finally, Mr. Yan concluded, “Ms. Lin, Wang Shen will be fully in charge of this. He will inform you to schedule a meetup, so you can have a look at the costume samples together after he has contacted the factory. All you need to do now is to wait for his updates.”

Lin Wan hesitated. Why was it Wang Shen again? This arrangement was like a fly in the ointment.

She didn’t want to meet Wang Shen alone anymore. She was afraid to get herself into unnecessary trouble if her husband found out. He had already made it clear that he didn’t like such surprises, and she didn’t like them either.

Noticing her hesitation, Mr. Yan asked, “Ms. Lin, is there anything troubling you? Feel free to let me know if you have any requests, I’ll try my very best to meet them.”

Lin Wan was silent for a while before she said to Mr. Yan, “Mr. Yan, I do have a request. Hopefully, you’ll agree to it.”

“Go ahead. What do you need?”

“Ms. Zhou Li from the music department works well with me and has a unique taste when it comes to fashion. I would like to ask her to participate in this matter together, is that alright?”

“No big deal, of course, you could. Let’s go with that arrangement then, I’ll let Wang Shen know later. You and Zhou Li can work on this together.”

After ending the call, Lin Wan heaved a huge sigh of relief. With Zhou Li beside her, there shouldn’t be any problem.

The next morning, Wang Shen called and asked her to go to the Renaissance Hotel for choosing costumes. Lin Wan felt a little surprised and couldn’t help but ask, “Why the hotel out of all places?”

Wang Shen explained with a smile, “Well, this manufacturer is actually holding a fashion commodity fair at the Renaissance Hotel. It’s all for the sake of convenience.”

“Is Zhou Li aware of this?”

“She’s right beside me now. We’re almost there. Ms. Lin, you can depart from home now and call me when you arrive. I’ll come down to meet you!”

Zhou Li’s giggle could be heard from the other side, “Lin Wan, come over quickly! We’ll let Wang Shen treat us to lunch, we can’t help him for free just like that.”

Zhou Zijian and the others were nearly falling asleep downstairs. It had been days since Lin Wan stepped out of her house. They felt like they were working part-time as a security guard but without getting paid.

“Mr. Zhou, Mr. Zhou, look! That woman is finally out of her house!”

Han nudged Zhou Zijian who was still dozing off. After rubbing his eyes, the latter glanced in the direction Han was pointing at and saw that Lin Wan was walking towards her car.

Su leaned over and suggested impatiently, “Maybe she’s just going for her grocery shopping again. Mr. Zhou, let’s not tail her this time and just wait for her to come back.”

Zhou Zijian ignored him, started the engine, and tailed her car.

“We’ve persisted for so long now. How can we do things by halves? In our field of work, one of the most important qualities is to have patience and perseverance. We should never slack off, especially when we’re near the end. The two of you better keep that in mind!”

The two men grinned broadly while responding, yet it was obvious that they didn’t take his words into account.

Zhou Zijian sighed to himself. Young people these days are having a weaker sense of responsibility in comparison to the older generation. In fact, the difference is pretty major.

After they were on the road for some time, Han suddenly said, “Something’s wrong, this is definitely not the route to the market. Mr. Zhou, where is she heading to?”

“I don’t know. Don’t worry, we’ll find out in a minute!”

After some time, Han muttered again, “Renaissance Hotel is straight up this road. She’s not going on a date, isn’t she?”

Right after that, he shouted aloud, “She turned into the hotel. She turned into the hotel! She is really going to Renaissance Hotel. Mr. Zhou, here’s our chance!”

Zhou Zijian parked his car at the hotel entrance and nudged the two of them, “My friends, get ready. Let’s stick with our old ways. You two will keep an eye on the inside, while I’ll stay outside. I have a hunch that there will be something big going on today!”

Lin Wan arrived at the hotel lobby and did not find Wang Shen and Zhou Li, so she called the former.

“Hello, Mr. Wang, I’m here!”

“Ms. Lin, please wait a moment. I’ll be right there!”

A few minutes later, Wang Shen who got out of the lift came quickly to Lin Wan, “Sorry for letting you wait and troubling you to come this far.”

“No worries. Where’s Zhou Li?”

“She’s looking at the costumes inside the hotel room. Let’s head up together!”

The two of them stepped out when the lift stopped at the 8th floor. Wang Shen accompanied Lin Wan straight to Room 826 and opened the door with his room card.

Before entering the room, Lin Wan deliberately looked inside and found three other people in the room, among whom were a man and a woman she did not recognize, presumably someone from the factory.

The other woman was Zhou Li, who was looking at the costumes. She waved at Lin Wan excitedly upon seeing her.

Lin Wan was completely relieved and stepped into the room. Wang Shen then followed suit and closed the door behind him.

About an hour later, Lin Wan walked out of the room with Wang Shen behind her. Regret was written all over his face.

“Ms. Lin, let’s have lunch together before you leave. I feel really bad to have you go home hungry!”

“There’s no need to do so!” Lin Wan refused politely. “I have other errands to run, so I won’t be joining you for lunch. Don’t worry about that either.”

“Well then, I’ll see you off!”

Wang Shen sent Lin Wan out and left unwillingly after watching her leave in her car.

After getting back to the room, the two manufacturer representatives also said bid their goodbyes and left. Wang Shen went back to the room and closed the door after he sent them off.

In the room, Zhou Li was snuggled up at the table and looked at him with a wry smile.

“It seems like someone wasted his time. She didn’t even batch an eye at you!”

Without a word, Wang Shen picked her up by the waist and threw her onto the bed.

Zhou Zijian did not continue to tail Lin Wan. The photos he had were more than enough.

The pictures today were pretty convincing. They didn’t even need to link the pictures together. This set of photos that resembled a one-night stand would ruin her marriage for sure.

Han and Su came back one after another with a look of excitement on their faces. Their efforts did not go to waste. They finally got the evidence of Lin Wan cheating.

Although it was still fake, who cared? They would get paid as long as they completed their task. What was left wasn’t their concern.

It seemed like luck wasn’t on Lin Wan’s side. Well, blame it on your husband! If it wasn’t for him being eyed by a rich family’s daughter, you wouldn’t have such issues. She should step aside before things get nasty.

“Have you checked? “Zhou Zijian asked.

“Yeah, that woman is really unlucky. They were all there to look at the performance costume, and there was a bunch of people inside with them. Nothing happened between her and Wang Shen.”

Han replied and grinned without an ounce of guilt.

“So what? The only people in this photo are Lin Wan and Wang Shen. Only they were seen to enter and leave the room. Who would’ve known that there’s someone else inside the room? Even if she tries to explain, do you think her husband will believe what she says?” Su said disdainfully.

Right after that, he chuckled aloud with a lewd expression, “Mr. Zhou, Wang Shen is indeed up to no good. He was making love with another female teacher in the room. That woman moaned so loud, you could even hear it clearly in the corridor.”

“Are you sure she’s a teacher from the school?” Zhou Zijian asked skeptically.

“I’m sure of that. Her name is Zhou Li. I’ve seen her in the KTV room last time!” Han replied confidently.

Su smiled and chimed in, “Mr. Zhou, I found out she had an affair with Wu Heping the last time I tailed him. I still have the photos and videos with me.”

Zhou Zijian did not say anything while he silently calculated the stakes.

“Mr. Zhou, is there something wrong?” Su couldn’t help but ask upon noticing his concerns.

“There are some loopholes here and there. I need the two of you to fix these flaws before we submit this evidence to our hirer.”

“Tell us what loopholes you’ve noticed, Mr. Zhou. And what should we do?”

Zhou Zijian thought of it long before he said to them, “I will talk about them one by one. The two of you can help me analyze how we could perfect this.”

The two boys perked up immediately and were ready to listen to his analysis.

“Let’s start with the cross-drinking. There were many more attendees in the room than just the two of them. Many teachers can attest to the fact that they didn’t cross-drink, which could be a deal-breaker.”

“That’s no big deal!” Han responded with a smile, “Mr. Zhou, apart from Lin Wan, all the others were drunk and weren’t in a clear state of mind. Their words may not be convincing at all. It will work fine as long as one of them claims they saw that incident happen.”
