Chapter 81 The Problem Lies with You

After so many accidents had happened, everyone was in no mood to continue playing. Therefore, they quickly changed their clothes and returned to the wooden house inn together.

After entering the room, Lin Wan said to Li Mu, “Honey, can you go out for a while. I have something to say to Xiaoyu.”

Li Mu looked at He Xiaoyu subconsciously. The latter nodded at him indifferently and said, “It’s okay, Li Mu. I won’t fight with her. It just so happens that I have something to say to her, too.”

“Alright, I will leave you two to talk. Don’t quarrel or fight. I will be at the door. Call me if there is anything.” After saying this, Li Mu opened the door and went out.

“Lin Wan, I’ll let you speak first!” He Xiaoyu said with a smile.

Lin Wan looked at her seriously for three minutes before she finally opened her mouth to speak, “When we had a good relationship in the past, I always called you Xiaoyu, and you always called me Mrs. Li. Why don’t you call me now?”

He Xiaoyu didn’t utter a word.

Lin Wan sighed, looked out of the window, and continued, “He Xiaoyu, I know what you are thinking, but you have already crossed the line. Many of your actions have exceeded the limits of friendship. I don’t want to talk to you like this, but I must warn you that you are destroying my family and challenging my bottom line.”

“Okay, is there anything else?” He Xiaoyu asked.

Lin Wan frowned and was displeased with He Xiaoyu’s attitude, but she continued, “I hope that you don’t try to come in between our relationship. You come from quite a prominent family. If you continue to make trouble like this, you will not only embarrass yourself but also put your whole family to shame.”

“Are you done?”

“That’s all I want to say!”

He Xiaoyu sat down on the edge of her bed and said slowly, “Lin Wan, do you know what your biggest problem is?”

Lin Wan leaned against the door and asked unhappily, “What do you want to say?”

“I would like to talk about your problem. You may not know what your problem is, so let me tell you about it. Your biggest problem is that you like to lie. When we had a good relationship in the past, I have found that you really like to tell lies. You always like to lie to make your life look perfect, but do you know that that kind of perfection is actually hypocritical?”

After taking a glance at the dazed Lin Wan, He Xiaoyu continued softly, “Your other problem is that you don’t know how to refuse. It seems you have a bottom line, but in many cases, you behave very ambiguously. You are very evasive and unclear when you reject others. This will make others think that you enjoy the men’s pursuits and that you are just playing hard to get.”

“You are b*llsh*tting. I have never been ambiguous with other men, and I am also not trying to play hard to get. I warn you. Don’t spread false rumors about me!” Lin Wan snarled angrily.

“Yes, you didn’t recently, but I still remember all the things that happened in the past. You may not think that those behaviors are ambiguous and that you are not trying to play hard to get them, but the others don’t think so. You think that is a manifestation of your kindness and gentleness, but for Li Mu, that is the evidence of a fickle wife.”

Lin Wan’s face flushed with anger at a moment and then turned pale with shock the next moment. Before she got married, there were many suitors around her, and the problem she said did exist. At that time, she had a good relationship with He Xiaoyu and was willing to share many things with her. Therefore, the latter knew a lot of her secrets.

“It’s not that I want to intervene in your relationship with Li Mu, but your lies and endless ambiguity are constantly pushing him to my side. The root of tension in your relationship doesn’t lie in me but in you. It’s you who have diminished his trust and patience in you. Even without me, Li Mu will also leave you sooner or later.”

Lin Wan felt completely silent. She frowned, lost in thought.

“Lin Wan, you may think that I’m immoral, but I think I am doing the right thing. We have known each other for so many years. Have I done anything that has crossed the line before this?” He Xiaoyu continued to ask.

“You did a good job in the past, but why did you change recently?” Lin Wan asked puzzledly. “The reason why I want to have a talk with you today is that I hope that we can return to our normal way of communication. From now on, I hope that you won’t cross the limits of friendship again.”

“Lin Wan, you are wrong. I did all these not to cross the boundaries of friendship but to correct the mistakes made by the three of us.”

Lin Wan looked at her in a perplexed manner. After a moment of silence, He Xiaoyu then continued to say to her, “To tell you the truth, although I understand your problem, I always choose to endure it and not to say it out!”

“Because I feel that as long as they don’t affect your relationship with Li Mu, those so-called flaws are between the two of you and have nothing to do with me being a friend. It was also because of this reason that I foolishly gave up Li Mu. But now, I must correct this mistake.”

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

“You should be clear in your heart that I’m not talking nonsense. Let’s not talk about those ambiguous relationships that you have. We will talk about the problem that you like to lie about. So far, how many lies have you not explained clearly? Let’s just talk about Fang Qiang’s incident. You are deliberately hiding something. Do you dare to say that there is nothing between you two?”

“There is nothing between us. Nothing of the sort that you are thinking about happened!” Lin Wan said in a slightly raised voice.

“Then why are you lying? What do you want to hide? Have you thought that all the things you want to hide are worthless in Li Mu’s eyes? But you still spare no effort to do it. Even if you will be misunderstood by Li Mu, you still keep on doing it! You may feel aggrieved and sad, but did you know that what you did will only hurt Li Mu and make him feel more painful and sadder?”

“I didn’t hide anything or lie, and I have never thought of hurting my husband. I was going to explain it clearly to him, but the time is not yet ripe.”

Lin Wan argued loudly, and she suddenly felt very passive. She was obviously the victim, and He Xiaoyu was the shameless b*tch who was trying to snatch her husband from her. Why could she be so arrogant in front of her?

She had forgotten He Xiaoyu’s profession was a senior pre-sales consultant. It was easy for He Xiaoyu to spot her weakness. Even if she had no weakness, He Xiaoyu would still be able to find a bunch of weaknesses in her.

“Lin Wan, this is your problem. You like to deal with things with lies. You like to deal with interpersonal relationships in your own way and often neglect your husband’s feelings.”

“Okay, let me talk about Li Mu’s and my mistakes now. Li Mu’s greatest mistake is marrying you, and my greatest mistake is giving him up.”

Lin Wan stood up abruptly and pointed her finger angrily, unable to say a word.

“Don’t be agitated. I am just telling you the truth. You two don’t belong to the same world. Li Mu and I are the most compatible. Lin Wan, do you believe that even if I give up now, your marriage will be destroyed by you sooner or later? If you don’t believe it, let’s wait and see.”

Their conversation ended without any compromise.

The few of them were not in the mood to eat at night, and Li Mu and Fang Qiang were not in the mood to drink either. After dinner, they each went back to their rooms to rest.

After getting back to their rooms, Li Mu immediately began packing to go home. This was an absolutely terrible trip. Not only was he unable to relax, but he felt even more annoyed. He didn’t want to stay here any longer and was preparing to go home.

Of course, He Xiaoyu didn’t care at all. Whether to stay or leave, she would just follow whatever Li Mu said.

After hesitating for a moment, Lin Wan persuaded her husband in a persuasive tone, “Honey, Mrs. Hong will be here soon. Let’s wait for her for a while. After we meet up with her, we’ll decide whether to go back or not, okay?”

“Are you worried about that lunatic?” Li Mu asked.

Lin Wan nodded and replied, “Yes. Even though he was injured, we don’t know how serious his injury is and whether he can pose a threat to us. The enemy is hiding in the dark, and it’s very difficult for us to prevent his attacks. If we drive home at night, it is even more dangerous, so I suggest that we go back tomorrow morning.”

What his wife said was right, so Li Mu didn’t insist on his plan anymore. He decided to spend the night here and leave for home early tomorrow morning.

There were only two small single beds in the wooden house. Lin Wan and He Xiaoyu each occupied a bed while Lu Mu sat on the luggage rack near the door. He leaned his back against the wooden wall, thinking blankly.

“Honey, come and sit here. It’s more comfortable to sit on the bed.”

Li Mu gave her a blank look but didn’t say anything.

Lin Wan called him again several times, but Li Mu replied indifferently, “Don’t worry about me. I’ll just sit here. You just need to take care of yourself.”

Li Mu’s answer made Lin Wan feel very sad. She knew that her husband had a very deep misunderstanding of her and that if she continued to hide the truth, it would make him more suspicious of her. But now was not the right time to come clean with her husband. She was very clear of her husband’s temper, and she was afraid that Li Mu would act irrationally out of anger if she came clean at this time.

Lin Wan got out of the bed, sat down beside Li Mu, and leaned her head on his shoulder. Li Mu hesitated for a long, then sighed, and hugged his wife.

He Xiaoyu didn’t say anything. She just took a glance at them, then lowered her head, and continued to fiddle with her mobile phone.

The three of them just sat quietly without speaking or turning on the lights.

Mrs. Hong finally arrived at around 8’clock at night. After entering the room, she couldn’t help but exclaim, “What kind of shabby place is this? Can you live in such a small wooden house? It’s amazing that you guys can squeeze into such a small room. Don’t you find it hard to breathe?”

“It’s safer to stay in a room!” Lin Wan explained.

“B*llsh*t. How safe can this shabby room be? Aren’t you guys scared that he would come and kill you all at once? Quickly spread out, and stay in a room by yourself. Don’t stay in the same room.”

Lin Wan tugged at Mrs. Hong’s sleeve and shook her head at Mrs. Hong. Mrs. Hong took a glance at her, then looked at Li Mu, and asked perplexedly, “Did you guys quarrel again?”

“No, we didn’t. Mrs. Hong, please sit down. Let’s just leave it like this tonight. Don’t move around anymore.”

Mrs. Hong looked at the married couple seriously and finally snorted without saying a word. Then, she sat down on Lin Wan’s bed and began to look at He Xiaoyu up and down.

The latter had been ignoring Mrs. Hong since she stepped into the room. She didn’t even bother to say hello to her. At this moment, she was playing with her mobile intently. Upon noticing that someone was looking at her out of the corner of her eye, she couldn’t help but look up.

“It’s you!”

“Oh, you have quite a good memory. You can still remember me!” Mrs. Hong said with a smile.

He Xiaoyu smiled but didn’t say anything. She lowered her head and continued to fiddle with her mobile phone.

“Hey, lass, it’s natural for the married couple to stay in the same room. Why are you here? I believe you are not young anymore. Don’t you know what is wrong and what is right?”

Mrs. Hong’s voice was sweet and soft, but her words were as sharp as blades.
