Right when He Xiaoyu was busy using her actions to prove herself as the new lady owner of Li Mu’s house, Lin Wan was sitting in the living room of her courtyard. Beside her was Mrs. Hong who kept going on and on, just to persuade her to return to the South Seas.

“Lin Wan, at least give me some responses after all I've said. Are you going back or not?”

“Why should I leave?” Lin Wan finally responded.

“Didn't I tell you? Two steps forwards, one step back. This is what you should do now. As the saying goes, distance is the soul of beauty. You have to leave him first in order for him to calm down. Then the feelings of regret will kick in.” Mrs. Hong explained patiently.

“What if he doesn’t regret it?” Lin Wan asked uneasily.

“How would he not regret it? You have been taking care of him all this time and have been so considerate and attentive! He has long depended on you for a lot of stuff. He will regret it for sure if you let him suffer just a little!”

“Then what if He Xiaoyu takes advantage of the situation? Doesn't that mean I’m helping her to get married with Li Mu?” Lin Wan still felt uneasy. She knew her opponent too well and was confident that He Xiaoyu would not let go of this opportunity for sure.

“What are you worried about? We are keeping an eye on her all day long. And we’ll be the first to know if she has any ideas up her sleeves! By then we’ll come up with a way. It won’t be too late!”

Confused, Lin Wan asked, “Mrs. Hong, why do you always want me to return to the South Seas?”

Mrs. Hong’s expression turned slightly embarrassed as she coughed lightly to hide her unnaturalness and said with a smile, “I persuaded you to go back because it's time for you to do so. There are many things that require you to do personally. Plus, as the head of the Lin Family, you can’t be hiding forever.”

“They’ve been doing just fine without me anyway!” Lin Wan couldn't care less.

Her reply made Mrs. Hong furious, who said with a frown, “Lin Wan, don't forget that you are more than just his wife. You are also the elder daughter and head of the Lin family. This is your duty and obligation. You can’t run away from it just like that!”

Lin Wan lowered her head and defended herself in a feeble tone, “I didn't think of running away. I was prepared to take him back with me if these things hadn't happened. Who’d knew these would happen.”

After easing her emotions, Mrs. Hong patted her shoulder and agreed, “Yes. No one expected these changes to happen. But since they have already happened, we must find a way to solve them. The best solution now is to go back to the South Seas first, and then find a way to make up with your husband.”

Lin Wan's mind wandered a little. She felt that what Mrs. Hong said was reasonable. Should she really heed her advice and go back to the South Seas first? Then she could find an opportunity to remarry her husband after that. She started to feel a little indecisive and sat there comparing the gains and losses over and over again.

Before she could make up her mind, Lin Kun's phone rang. After answering it, Lin Kun looked at Lin Wan with a complicated expression.

Lin Wan looked up at him and asked in confusion, “What is it?”

“Well!” Lin Kun contemplated whether to tell the truth.

Unhappy, Lin Wan said in an icy tone, “I’ve told you before that all you needed to do was to be my most trusted family member, and that you didn't need to make decisions for me. I'm telling this to you again today. And it’ll be the last time I’m repeating myself. Do you hear me clearly?”

“Yes. Understood. Ms. Lin, I have news that He Xiaoyu has moved into Li Mu's house!”

Clash! The stone carved coffee table that weighed over hundreds of kilograms was overturned by Lin Wan, who then walked out without looking back.

Anxious, Mrs. Hong stomped her feet and followed her immediately.

After storing all the food, He Xiaoyu started to cook. Li Mu wanted to give her a hand. But she pushed him out and told him to just wait for dinner and there was no need for him to help.

Li Mu felt embarrassed. After all, the two of them were not married yet. And it seemed a bit inappropriate for him to act like a boss and not help with anything.

Since Xiaoyu didn't need his help, he decided to chat with her.

Li Mu leaned against the kitchen door frame and chatted with He Xiaoyu. They worked in perfect harmony as one of them cooked while the other joked around.

As they were happily chatting away, someone said coldly behind them all of a sudden, “Smells good. Pretty good huh. Honey, is she your new nanny?"

Li Mu was almost scared to death and turned around with a jerk. The first thing he saw was Lin Wan with her eyebrows raised and her eyes wide open, carrying a baseball bat in her hand! Strange, where did the bat come from?

This look scared the crap out of Li Mu. My goodness! He could’ve been beaten to death by her easily even without a weapon. Now that she had one, Xiaoyu and him would easily be smashed into a pulp!

Panicking out of emergency, he hugged Lin Wan completely subconsciously and pleaded repeatedly, “Honey. Honey. You have to calm down. It's not what you think. Xiaoyu is just here to cook for me. Wait. No. She's here to visit me.”

“Let go of me!” Lin Wan said coldly.

“I won't let go! Honey, don't be impulsive. Didn't you always advise me not to act impulsively? You have to set an example. Xiaoyu is really here as a guest. Don't misunderstand her.”

Li Mu was on the verge of tears. He would just admit it was his unlucky day if he was beaten up. But he would feel bad if he caused Xiaoyu to be beaten up along with him.

“I told you to let go. Did you hear me?” Lin Wan shouted loudly. Yet she didn't struggle at all and allowed Li Mu to hug her.

“Li Mu, what are you doing? The two of you are already divorced. Hurry up and let go of her!” He Xiaoyu shouted in anger.

Oh. Right. We're divorced!

Li Mu snapped out of it and hurriedly let go of his hand, in which he heard Lin Wan whisper, “I'll kill you if you dare to let go of me!”

Knowing what was best for him now, Li Mu immediately hugged his ex-wife again and refused to let go of her.

“Li Mu, what's wrong with you? Why are you still hugging her?” He Xiaoyu rushed over to pull them away from each other but saw Lin Wan looking at her scornfully. Just with a twist, she got out of her ex-husband's hug, and made Xiaoyu lie down on the floor in merely a second.

Alarmed, Li Mu immediately rushed up and hugged Lin Wan tightly from behind. He pinned her against the wall and shouted to He Xiaoyu, “Xiaoyu, run! You’ll never defeat her!”

Ashamed and angry, He Xiaoyu got up from the ground. Lin Wan had obviously shown mercy and did not hurt her. But she made it clear that Xiaoyu was no match for Lin Wan in terms of agility.

“How dare you trespass and even beat people up?” He Xiaoyu asked angrily but did not dare to act rashly anymore.

“My name is on the land deed for this house. Open your stupid eyes and have a good look at it. Why do you care if I came back to my house? Am I the one trespassing or are you the one trespassing instead?” Lin Wan refuted back firmly.

“Didn’t you leave without asking for anything? This house now belongs to Li Mu. It’s not your house anymore!”

"So what? This is still my house as long as the procedures are not completed yet. Right. I forgot to tell you that I changed my mind. I want this property back! Not happy with it? Let’s meet on court then!”

“There’s no need for a lawsuit. There’s no need for a lawsuit!” Li Mu said repeatedly, “I can give it back to you if you want. I'll move out immediately!”

“Shut up!” Lin Wan scolded, and Li Mu obediently shut his mouth.

He Xiaoyu, however, caught on and immediately agreed, “Yes, Li Mu. Return her the house. It’s not like we want it anyway. We'll both move out now!”

“Leave alone if you want to. Go on. Ask him if he dares to leave?” Lin Wan said contemptuously.

Li Mu turned his head and kept twitching his eyes at He Xiaoyu, signaling her to stop triggering Lin Wan.

Furious. He Xiaoyu wanted to pull them away but did not dare to do so. Hence she stomped her feet while panicking.

“Li Mu, how long are you going to hold her for? The rest of your life?”

Li Mu felt a bit embarrassed too. It seemed a bit inappropriate to keep hugging his ex-wife like this in front of his nominal fiancee.

But still, he did dare not let go. He was worried that Lin Wan would refuse to let them go, especially He Xiaoyu, who would be an easy target for his ex-wife.

At this very moment, he was like the one being severely beaten up in a boxing ring. He could only get the other party to stop beating him up by clinging onto her. But it was obviously not a good idea to keep hugging her. So he discussed with Lin Wan, “I'm letting go of you now. Let's talk things out. Don't beat us up again. Okay?”

“That’ll depend on my mood!”

It’d be better to continue hugging her then. Safety first!

“I don't believe that no one can handle such a mess like her. Li Mu, let go of her. I'll call the police now and let them be the judge!”

He Xiaoyu found her phone and was about to call the police. But before she could do so, a hand came up from behind and snatched the phone away.

Frightened, He Xiaoyu let out a startled cry. Mrs. Hong appeared from behind and threw the phone on the table. She laughed delicately, “I expected more from you. This was just a slight scare. If I really wanted to harm you, you would’ve died without knowing who killed you.”

He Xiaoyu steadied her mind and argued, “So you think you’re mighty just because you can fight? And that you can bully people just like that? They’re already divorced. Why does she still want to disturb me and Li Mu’s life?”

“He Xiaoyu, don't accuse me. Okay? I came back to my own house. How could you say I disturbed your lives? It was Li Mu who forced himself on me. And you were the one who came over and made the first move to beat me up. Now tell me yourself. Did I interfere with you, or is it the other way round?”

“Why did you have a bat with you then?”

“I thought there was a burglar in the house. So I wanted to defend myself. What’s wrong with that?”

He Xiaoyu ran out of words and turned to Li Mu, “Li Mu, why are you still holding on to her? Let go of her now!”

With Mrs. Hong present, Li Mu felt less scared. He knew that Mrs. Hong wasn’t unreasonable, and that Lin Wan would not beat him up in front of her. He slowly let go of his hand and took a few steps backwards.

Lin Wan turned around to straighten her clothes. Then, she sat down at the dining table and said to Li Mu and Xiaoyu, “Sit down, the two of you. Let's have a good talk.”

He Xiaoyu dragged Li Mu out and said as she walked out, “We have nothing to talk to you about. Take the house back if you want it. Li Mu won't fight with you over that!”

Lin Wan was a little anxious. If they really did not want to talk to her, she had no rights to stop them from leaving. After all, she and Li Mu were already divorced and there were no more responsibilities and obligations between the two of them. So, who was she to interfere with her ex-husband's freedom?

But Mrs. Hong would not sit idly by. There was nothing she couldn't do if Miss Lin was embarrassed. There was no way she would allow Li Mu to get together with He Xiaoyu before the love spell was lifted. This was a matter of Lin Wan’s life, hence she must take it seriously.
