Seeing that Lin Wan was on the verge of making a scene, Li Mu hurriedly pulled her away.

Struggling to bring her back, the two of them went back to the bedroom and Li Mu pleaded in a low voice, “Lin Wan, we are divorced after all. And it's too much for us to sleep together last night. If Xiaoyu finds out, she might make a scene. I just went to see if she was awake. It’s nothing more than that.”

“What now? You don't want to take responsibility after making love with me yesterday? Did being with me last night make you feel guilty towards Xiaoyu? Are you regretting it?” Lin Wan asked coldly, her eyes filled with anger.

“Did I say I was not going to take responsibility? You have to give me some time. I just promised Xiaoyu that I’ll marry her and right after that I’m remarrying you. How do you want her to think of me?”

“I don't care what she thinks of you. She shouldn't be pestering a married man anyway. If she hadn't started it first, none of this would’ve happened. Don't deny it. She was the one who hired Zhou Zijian, the private detective.”

“There's no point in pursuing those things anymore. It'll just spark another argument. There's no point in discussing who's right and who's wrong now. It's only right to get life back to peace as soon as possible. Don't you think so?”

Lin Wan nodded and returned to the bed and sat down and acted casually, “You’re right. We are divorced after all. I have no reason to control you anymore. Li Mu, do as you please. I won't stop you anymore!”

“Nuts!” Li Mu cursed and rummaged through the cupboard for a set of bedding before leaving the room with it in his arms.

Lin Wan was furious. What was he doing? She asked him to do as he pleased just for the sake of saying it. How dare he take what she said seriously? Did he go to the guest room to find He Xiaoyu?

Lin Wan scurried up from the bed and rushed out of the room immediately to find that Li Mu had gone into the study with the bedding in his arms, instead of the guest room.

Curious, she followed him. Only then did she see that Li Mu was trying to sleep on the floor in the study.

Lin Wan leaned against the door and watched him. She waited for Li Mu to be done before asking in disbelief, “What do you mean by that? Are you going to sleep in a separate room with me?”

“Shhh! Keep it down. I'll put on a show for Xiaoyu's sake. This way, she'll think we slept apart last night so she won't make a scene. I don't want to start another scene.”

“Extra!” Lin Wan said lightly. She turned around, returned to the bedroom and closed the door.

Li Mu lied on the bedding with his hands on his head, silently thinking about his things.

Now that he was back with his ex-wife. Didn’t even mention about divorcing but staying together, they even slept on the same bed! It seemed like his ex-wife would certainly not let go of him that easily. Thinking about him and Xiaoyu’s matter gave him a major headache.

The point was what he should tell Xiaoyu? He had already promised her. But now he was taking back what he said. How could he possibly face her in the future?

As he thought about it, his head ached and he couldn't come up with any good ideas. While he was struggling to think of a countermeasure, he suddenly heard a scream, followed by He Xiaoyu rushing out with her clothes unkempt.

Li Mu hurriedly got up and ran out of the study. When He Xiaoyu saw him, she immediately jumped into his arms and hugged him tightly.

Knowing that she was in shock, Li Mu couldn't bear to push her away right away. So he crossed his arms and comforted her, “What's wrong? Did you have a nightmare? It's okay. You're safe in my house. There's no danger!”

“Li Mu, why did I fall asleep?” He Xiaoyu tried to recall what happened last night but could not remember exactly what had happened.

"Lin Wan and I entered our room to talk things out. And you fell asleep on the table. It was Mrs. Hong who helped you to the guest room. I didn’t want to wake you up upon seeing that you were sound asleep,”

“Who’s being so annoying? It’s so early. What's all the nonsense about? Who’s yelling?” Lin Wan opened the bedroom door and her eyes glared. She rushed over and grabbing He Xiaoyu out of Li Mu's arms, forcing herself not to punch her.

“What are you doing?” He Xiaoyu asked angrily.

“You tell me what you are doing! Cuddling in front of me. What do you two mean? Showing off your love?”

“It's none of your business whether we show our love. You're his ex-wife, not his wife. Are you in a position to control us?”

“Just don’t do it in front of me then! Don't forget, this is my house! And intimacy is forbidden on my property!”

The two women were about to argue again when they suddenly heard Mrs. Hong's voice coming from the other side of the sofa lazily. “Are the two of you finished? You're making a lot of noise early in the morning. Can’t you girls be quiet for a minute? I want to sleep.”

Panicked, Li Mu hurriedly persuaded the two of them to not be mad anymore and begged them to stop. The house was not very soundproof. And it would be embarrassing if the neighbours heard them.

Lin Wan grunted and clasped her arms, looking at He Xiaoyu with a disdainful expression, while the latter glared right back at her.

Suddenly, He Xiaoyu remembered something and grabbed Li Mu's arm, asking nervously, “Li Mu, where did you sleep last night?”

Li Mu hurriedly pointed towards the study. He Xiaoyu let go of him and took a few steps to the study and looked inside, her expression relaxing immediately.

Lin Wan smiled as she watched, neither making sarcastic remarks nor revealing the truth, as if she was uninvolved in this.

Li Mu breathed a sigh of relief. Thank God he was smart enough to do so. Otherwise a battle between the two women would strike for sure. He would definitely be involved and be in a difficult position.

He couldn’t let them live under the same roof any longer. Li Mu made up his mind and said to He Xiaoyu, “Xiaoyu, clean up and get ready to go to work!”

After instructing He Xiaoyu, he asked Lin Wan apprehensively, “Lin Wan, we're go to work later. Can we go?”

“Whatever. Come and go as you please. I've told you already that we would not interfere with each other's freedom in terms of dating and relationships. Just don't show your love in front of me. I’m freaking disgusted!”

“Hmph. Do you think we want to see you too? Don't worry. Li Mu and I won't come back. You’d better stay in your empty room and ponder about life!” He Xiaoyu's responded rudely.

Lin Wan clenched her fists and tried to control herself.

Li Mu hurriedly said, “Xiaoyu, cut the crap. Hurry up and pack. Quick!”

He Xiaoyu knew that it was very difficult for Li Mu as he was involved in this situation too, and any further trouble would only make it more difficult for him. Hence, she stopped provoking Lin Wan and prepared to leave with Li Mu after a brief freshening up.

Suddenly, a scream came from the study, followed by Li Mu's cursing voice. “Lin Wan, you bitch! You’re dead meat!”

Lin Wan who was leaning against the bedroom door hurriedly turned around and went back inside her room when her husband's roar startled her. Immediately, she locked the door behind her.

Li Mu rushed out of the study and tried to open the bedroom door for a few times before realizing it was locked. Furious, he slammed the door. “Open the door. Open the door for instance! You stupid motherf***ing bitch. Open the door now!”

He Xiaoyu came over and dragged Li Mu. “Li Mu, what’s wrong with you? Are you insane? What did she do to you?”

“I'm not insane. This bitch got me in huge trouble! Fuck. How the hell can I face anyone in the future?”

Li Mu continued to bang on the door and Mrs. Hong finally couldn't stand it anymore. She sat up and cursed, “How can you bang on the door like that early in the morning? Are you trying to mourn the dead? Stop this bullshit immediately!”

He Xiaoyu was a little afraid of Mrs. Hong so she hurriedly dragged Li Mu into the study. She gestured at him and lowered her voice, “Li Mu, we can't beat them. So stop it. We should hurry up and leave before they stop us!”

“Leave? Xiaoyu, I’m too damn embarrassed to leave now! Just look. Fuck!”

Li Mu lied on the ground and pulled the blanket over his head. He had no face to see anyone now.

He Xiaoyu who was oblivion hurriedly picked up her phone to check what happened. The more she looked at it, the wider her eyes went. And her whole body shivered in fear!

After a moment's hesitation, Li Mu picked up the phone. And before he could say anything, his mother shouted on the other end of the line, “Go to the hospital now! Your father was taken to the hospital by an ambulance. It seems to be a heart attack.”

Li Mu's head buzzed while he forced himself to calm down and asked panickily, “Mom, take it easy. Which hospital did he go to? Stop crying. Tell me now!”

After putting down the phone, Li Mu said incoherently to He Xiaoyu, “Go to the hospital. No, you can't go! Right. I have to go to the hospital now. Right away!”

He Xiaoyu understood what he said and rushed with him hurriedly. Just as he left the study, he ran into Mrs. Hong, who asked out of concern, “What's the matter? Is something wrong?”

“Get out of the way. His father is in hospital!” He Xiaoyu said to her.
