He Xiaoyu sat aggrievedly beside Li Mu, tears welling up in her eyes.

Li Mu felt bad seeing her cry and comforted her, “Xiaoyu, don't think about it anymore. Let's just leave it for now. Both of us should stop trying to make things worse. At this point, our main focus is to treat my father’s illness. I will look for an opportunity to confess to my parents when he gets better.”

“How long would it be?” He Xiaoyu asked uneasily.

He Xiaoyu was taken aback and exclaimed immediately, “Where have you been sleeping for the past two nights if the study room was occupied then?”

He Xiaoyu acted like she was going to leave. Li Mu pulled her back and said in a firm voice, “I slept on the floor. I swear I'm not lying!”

“I don’t care where you’re sleeping. I just don't want the two of you to sleep in the same room!” He Xiaoyu said furiously.

“It's all for the sake of my parents. I don't want them to get anxious and fall sick because of us. Although I'm in the same room with Lin Wan, we sleep in our own beds at night and do not share a bed.”

He Xiaoyu knew that there was no way out of this. Li Mu had hidden his divorce from his parents. And in their eyes, Li Mu and Lin Wan were both married happily. Since they were married, they had to act like a married couple. Hence Li Mu’s solution was probably the best way for now.

Before she could say anything else, the glass door of the office was shattered by a kick. With a loud bang, broken glass shattered all over the floor. And a man rushed in.

Knocked to the ground, Li Mu was dizzy and confused. Before he could react, that man started beating him up.

He Xiaoyu had already sobered up from her initial state of shock. Seeing Li Mu being beaten up, she teared up out of anxiety. She then lifted her leg and kicked the man hard.

The man wasn’t paying much attention to her as he did not expect such a weak lady to strike so viciously. He was kicked right at his weakest spot and screamed in agony. Lying on the ground, he covered his lower body in pain.

Having a 7th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo, her kick was so accurate, so vicious and so poisonous that it literally took half of his soul away.

After kicking the man down, He Xiaoyu shouted to the department secretary who rushed this way due to the commotion, “Call the security. Call the security now!”

Trying to sit up, the pain under his ribs was insane. Darn it! His ribs must have been fractured. He felt annoyed at the fact that he didn’t see who hit him.

Turning his head, he saw that bastard who hit him being beaten up by the guards. Wait. Wasn’t he that idiot Cheng Feng?

Could it be that he was jealous of my relationship with He Xiaoyu so he hit me out of anger? He instructed the guards immediately, “Stop beating him up. Stop beating him up!”

The guards were so excited from beating Cheng Feng up that they didn't even hear him. Li Mu couldn't help but shout, “Stop it! Damn it! You’ll kill him if you go on like this!”

Hearing Li Mu’s orders, the chief security hastily stopped his men from abusing that poor fellow. And the few of them pinned Cheng Feng to the ground while turning their heads to look at Li Mu.

“Li Mu, Li Mu, are you alright?” He Xiaoyu sobbed.

After shouting that, Li Mu triggered his injury and the pain was so intense that it almost made him faint again. Taking a deep breath, he said to He Xiaoyu, “Call an ambulance. I seem to have broken my ribs!”

“Call an ambulance now!” He Xiaoyu yelled.

“Call the two of us an ambulance. Bring that bastard along too!” Li Mu reminded her.

While waiting for the ambulance, Li Mu ordered someone to get Cheng Feng over. Two security guards held Cheng Feng by his arms and carried him to Li Mu. With his head down, the former stayed unconscious.

Li Mu called a few times yet Cheng Feng did not respond at all. A security guard went up and slapped Cheng Feng across the face. He still did not wake up.

“Go get a basin of cold water and splash it at him till he’s awake!” Li Mu commanded.

Who would’ve dared to not obey Li Mu’s order? A few of the security guards hurriedly went out to get him some water. Li Mu asked for one basin, but they brought in three whole basins.

They carried Cheng Feng to the side. And with a splash, the first basin of water was splashed on him. but he didn't wake up! Without the need to even consult Li Mu for further instructions, the next basin of water was out! After three basins of water were all splashed at Cheng Feng, the office was in a complete mess!

A few people carefully carried Li Mu out, and Cheng Feng finally regained consciousness.

Li Mu was lying flat on a writing table and turned his head to look at Cheng Feng, who was undaunted and stared at him with a resentful expression.

“Are you fucking nuts? Why did you hit me?” Li Mu cursed.

“What did you do to Lin Dantong? Where is she now?” Cheng Feng asked through gritted teeth.

“Lin Dantong? Who is Lin Dantong? I don't know any Lin Dantong. You m****f*****. You’ve beaten up the wrong person!” Li Mu was furious and once again triggered his injury, causing him to grunt in pain.

“Don't play dumb. That woman who beat you up is Lin Dantong. What did you do to her? Why did she beat you up?” Cheng Feng questioned.

“Holy shit. Are you even human? I was the one who got beaten up, okay? I got beaten up because I didn’t fight back. Are you fucking kidding me?” Li Mu couldn't help but break into a cussing fit.

“You deserve to be beaten up. You must have offended Dantong. So serve you right for that! You haven’t answered my question. Where is Lin Dantong and what is your relationship with her?”

“Are you deaf? I told you I didn't know anyone called Lin Dantong. The woman who hit me is my wife. Her name is Lin Wan!”

With his patience running out, Li Mu corrected him once again. He felt so wronged as he was beaten up by a madman for a woman that he didn't know. What the hell?

Cheng Feng suddenly lowered his tone and said sadly, “So the both of you are married. Her maiden name was Lin Wan. Lin Wan is Lin Dantong. I've been searching for her for ages. And I won’t go wrong when it comes to recognising her.”

Saying this, he suddenly lifted his head up and started crying and begging, “Please, give Dantong back to me, okay?”

“Sigh, the way he suddenly broke down into tears. I freaking broke my ribs and I haven’t even cried yet. What the hell was he crying for? Wasn’t he all ferocious and fierce just now? Why did he become so weak all of a sudden?” Li Mu thought.
