“What is your relationship with Lin Wan?” Li Mu asked the question he was most concerned about.

Cheng Feng choked back a sob and replied, “She was my fiancee!” Li Mu immediately remembered that Lin Wan had run away from an arranged marriage. “The world is so small. He hasn’t found Lin Wan but he runs into me first.” He thought.

He Xiaoyu's eyes lit up. She didn’t look at Cheng Feng with anger anymore. Well, she definitely lived up to her name of being an experienced senior sales consultant. She got hold of what she could do next for the major breakthrough.

Taking a few steps towards Cheng Feng, she slapped him hard across the face.

“You lunatic. Li Mu and Lin Wan are already divorced. Why don’t you find a way to get her back? What’s the point of hitting Li Mu? He doesn't even know anything. What did he do to offend you?”

Cheng Feng's jaw dropped and he stared at her blankly, muttering, “Divorced. Divorced?”

“Yes, they’re divorced. I don't care if she's Lin Wan or Lin Dantong. She doesn't have anything to do with us anymore. Stop disgusting us with her name in the future.”

“I'm sorry. I didn't know. I thought he offended Dantong hence I wanted to take it out on you on her behalf. I'm sorry. I was the one who misunderstood.”

Cheng Feng felt very guilty. He was too impulsive just now and did not try to understand what had really happened before beating Li Mu up rashly. It turned out that the truth was not what he had imagined.

Li Mu paid no more attention to him. This b*st*rd was insane. What the hell! Li Mu couldn’t believe that he was beaten up because of the video of him being beaten up! This was so unfair!

“Where is Lin Dantong? Can you tell me her address?”

“Impossible!” He Xiaoyu rejected him.

She had a clear head. Li Mu’s father was still sick. Cheng Feng would definitely trigger Li Mu’s parents’ anger if he visited Lin Wan.

Thinking of which, she turned to Cheng Feng and said, “You’re badly injured too. Let’s go to the hospital together. Lin Wan will definitely pay Li Mu a visit upon knowing about his injury. You can wait for her there in the hospital!”

“Okay. Thank you, Xiaoyu. I apologise for my impulsive actions earlier!”

“Save your apologies. If you really feel sorry, help us chase Lin Wan away then. She keeps clinging on to Li Mu and doesn’t want to let him go. I assume you have seen the video of her beating him up? That is the evidence of her being clingy and not letting him go!”

Cheng Feng shook his head and smiled bitterly without saying a word.

They were fetched to the hospital in a breeze by the ambulance. After some check-ups, they were informed that Cheng Feng's injuries were not too serious and they were all minor scratches. Although the kick from He Xiaoyu was pretty vicious, it did not cause him to be unable to have kids in the future. And he would recover after recuperating for some time.

On the other hand, Li Mu's case was very severe. Besides a minor concussion, he actually had six broken ribs and required immediate surgery.

When the test results came out, He Xiaoyu wanted to file a report immediately. But Li Mu stopped her. He asked her to think of Dr. He. If Cheng Feng was sent to jail, how could he have the courage to face his friend?

He had been informed of Cheng Feng's background from He Xiaoyu and knew his purpose of coming to Dongyang Group. He couldn’t help but felt a great deal of sympathy for this poor man whose marriage was not in his own hands.

When he first regained his consciousness, Li Mu thought Cheng Feng beat him up due to love that turned into hatred. He guessed the reason right but the target wrong. He wasn’t here for He Xiaoyu, but for Lin Wan. 

Before he was pushed into the operating room, Li Mu instructed He Xiaoyu, “Call Lin Wan over and tell her to take care of her own crap. Tell her not to alert my parents or she’ll wish she was never born!”

With tears in her eyes, He Xiaoyu agreed. She then stared at the closed door of the operating theatre for ten minutes before she took out her phone and dialled Lin Wan's number.

“Hello, the number you have dialled is an empty number!”

An empty number? How could it be an empty number? He Xiaoyu who was surprised at first realised that Lin Wan must have blacklisted her. Obviously, she wasn’t someone Lin Wan wanted to talk to.

“Childish!” He Xiaoyu scolded in a low voice. It seemed like Lin Wan still couldn't change that bad habit of hers. She would put on an act and be sensible for a few days when her husband found out that something was wrong. After that, the whole cycle would repeat once more. 

If she couldn’t reach Lin Wan through her phone, what should she do? He Xiaoyu thought about it for a while and suddenly had an idea. She would use Li Mu’s phone to call her! Lin Wan would never blacklist him. 

Li Mu's belongings were all with her. He Xiaoyu hurriedly found his mobile phone and dialled Lin Wan's mobile number again. This time, Lin Wan picked up almost immediately.

“Honey!” Lin Wan said gently. 

For some reason, He Xiaoyu got angry when she heard her voice and couldn't help but scold, “Quit calling him honey! He’s not your husband. Stop calling him that!”

On the other end of the line, the sound of footsteps followed after a moment of silence. Lin Wan was probably looking for a quiet place to talk to He Xiaoyu so she could avoid Li Mu’s parents from overhearing their conversations.

“He Xiaoyu, what are you up to again? I can't stand you anymore. Don't challenge my limits!” Lin Wan threatened.

“Yeah, I'd love to see what you're going to do to me. Oh, I forgot. You're a shrew, aren’t you? You’re so powerful, and can beat us all up by yourself. Oh, I'm so scared of you!”

Lin Wan was silent for a long time and suddenly asked, “Why do you have my husband's phone with you? Where is he?”

“Lin Wan, let me correct you again. Li Mu is my fiance. And he’s your ex-husband. Don’t you feel ashamed to call him your husband in front of me?” 

“I'm not going to argue with you. Put my husband on the phone!”

“Sorry, but Li Mu won’t be able to take your call. He was badly injured by your fiance and is currently having an operation. You better come over here and settle your own crap yourself!” 

A shriek came through as Lin Wan shouted anxiously, “Where is he? Tell me quickly. Where is he?”

“Stop screaming! Don't alert his parents, or Li Mu will not forgive you for sure!” He Xiaoyu hurriedly warned.

“Where is he? Tell me! Tell me now!” Lin Wan asked anxiously.

“Who are you asking for? Your ex-husband or your fiance? How would I know who you mean if you don't tell me clearly?” He Xiaoyu asked knowingly and continued to torment Lin Wan.

Lin Wan was already crying in anxiety. Weeping, she begged, “Xiao Yu, I beg you. Tell me where my husband is. I’ll go on my knees for you. Please tell me now.”

He Xiaoyu's heart softened and she couldn't bring herself to tease her anymore. She then told her the information about the hospital.

After putting down the phone, He Xiaoyu sighed and fixed her gaze firmly on the operating theatre.

“Was that Lin Dantong?” A man's voice rang behind her.

He Xiaoyu was startled and jerked back to find Cheng Feng standing behind her. Although he looked miserable with a bruised nose and a swollen face, he was still in good spirits.

“What the hell is wrong with you? Why did you walk without any sound at all?”

“I’m sorry. I shouldn't have startled you. Xiaoyu, was the person you spoke to just now Lin Dantong?”

He Xiaoyu nodded. Disgusted, she looked at him and said impatiently, “She's coming over now. I want the both of you to get out of my sight as soon as possible and stop disturbing me and Li Mu.”

“Don't worry. We will leave immediately after I see Dantong and never appear in front of you again. I take the blame for what has happened today. I'm sorry!”

Cheng Feng apologised sincerely and bowed deeply at He Xiaoyu after finishing what he said.

He Xiaoyu ignored him and turned around and continued to stare at the operating theatre.

About thirty minutes later, a group of people who was led by Lin Wan and Mrs. Hong rushed over in a whirl.

“Dantong!” Agitated, Cheng Feng went up to her.

Slap! A huge slap landed on his face. Mr. Cheng who was so resistant to beatings was knocked unconscious by just one slap from Lin Wan. Surrounded by a group of people, Mrs. Hong picked him up by the back of his neck and turned around to leave.

He Xiaoyu, who wanted to watch the fun, was stunned. What on earth was this? He got taken away that easily? These two women were insane!

Lin Wan rushed to her, grabbed her shoulders with both hands and cried urgently, “Where's my husband? Where’s my husband!”

He Xiaoyu gritted her teeth in pain. She felt that Lin Wan was going to shatter her bones just by her grip. She really did not expect such a weak woman to be so strong.

She hurriedly pointed in the direction of the operating theatre and said with a frown, “Keep your voice down. Li Mu is still in the operating theatre. Don't make any noise!”

She then proceeded to say hurriedly, “You're hurting me. Let go of me now!”

Lin Wan let go of He Xiaoyu and cried as she was about to barge inside the operating theatre. He Xiaoyu tugged at her tightly and said nervously, “Are you out of your mind? Li Mu is still having his operation. You’ll disturb the surgeon if you barge in. Do you want to kill Li Mu?”

Lin Wan finally calmed down and sat outside the operating theatre. Her continuous crying annoyed He Xiaoyu a lot. But she didn't dare to provoke her. She knew very well that she could never defeat Lin Wan. Hence she stayed silent.

After crying for a while, Lin Wan suddenly asked, “What happened? Why did Cheng Feng hit him?”

He Xiaoyu rolled her eyes and said furiously, “It’s all because of you! He saw the video of you beating Li Mu up. And I don't know what got into him but he rushed into the office and started beating Li Mu up. He was badly injured before he even had time to react.” 

“Do you have the injury report?” Lin Wan asked another question.

He Xiaoyu shoved the diagnosis report into her hand and said unhappily, “Read it yourself!”

Lin Wan looked at the report. The more she read it, the more she cried. After that, she cried through gritted teeth.

He Xiaoyu subconsciously avoided her and was afraid to stay beside her. She was scared that Lin Wan would use her as a punching bag to release her anger.

Luckily, Lin Wan did not pay any attention to her, but took out her mobile phone instead and started to make a call. Lin Wan's voice was very low and it seemed like she was giving instructions.

After a while, her expression became more and more agitated as she started arguing with the person on the other end of the phone. He Xiaoyu was too far away to hear the argument clearly. But it looked like it was something to do with this matter.

As Lin Wan's mood grew angrier and angrier, He Xiaoyu did not dare to go near her. She deliberately hid far away and ended up leaning against the door of the operating theatre and looking in through the door slit.

After a while, a voice suddenly rang behind her, “Is he out yet?”

“Good gracious!” He Xiaoyu was almost scared to death. Why was everyone walking without a sound today? She quickly let Lin Wan take her spot.
