“Honey, don’t throw a tantrum. I was wrong about what happened before. I apologize to you with all my heart. Please forgive me and let’s remarry. Okay?”

Li Mu pleaded in a low voice.

“I'm not throwing a tantrum. In fact, my head is very clear. The fact that we've chosen to divorce means that something is seriously wrong with our marriage! If we remarry hastily, we might risk ruining our marriage once again. So, we both need to calm down and don’t remarry just for the sake of it.”

“How are we not being calm? Well, at least, I'm being calm! We love each other and we have a child. Don't you want to give the child a complete family?”

“Of course, I’ll give my child a complete family. But this complete family doesn't have to include you. I have the right to choose my partner again. You’re only the child’s biological father, not necessarily a father who he’ll grow up with.”

Li Mu almost went mad. What the hell did she mean? So was his duty now only to help her get pregnant? If that was the case, why did she want to interfere his marriage with He Xiaoyu?

“Are you sick in the head? If you're not sure whether to choose me or not, then why are you restricting me from dating another woman? You have the right to choose but I don’t? Aren’t you being a little too domineering?”

Lin Wan wasn’t mad and smiled gracefully, “Look. Just a few words and you've lost your cool. Do you think you're capable of taking on the role of a father with your current state?”

“Then what state should I be in right now? Should I suck up to you every day? Lin Wan, get off your high horse! You want to choose a new partner. Fine. I support you. But please leave me alone first! Didn't you say you need to calm down? Shouldn't we keep a distance from each other then?”

Lin Wan stopped paying attention to him and looked at the test results with admiration.

Li Mu lay in bed sulking and felt as if a stone had been in his heart, aching his injuries.

Lin Wan didn't dare to make him mad anymore. She hurriedly massaged him and asked him to relax.

“See. All I did was just reject you. Yet you are so angry already. Let me ask you. In case I am set up by someone else once again, will you still stand aside and choose not to trust me? I am determined to correct my mistakes. But there is really no need for us to get back together if you don’t solve the problem from your side.”

Li Mu's emotions gradually calmed down. He frowned and thought for a long time before saying bitterly, “You're right. I always tend to be impulsive and lose my conscience when it comes to you. Time passed quickly. Li Mu recovered and was discharged from the hospital.

The period of recuperation could be described as one man’s pleasure and two men’s pain.

The one who was pleased was Lin Wan. With the child, she could finally reclaim her husband. She could stay with him every day, abuse him, and finally release that bit of resentment in her heart. It was the equivalent of using her ex-husband as a medicine to heal the wounds of her soul.

The ones in pain were Li Mu and He Xiaoyu. The former was physically in pain yet suffering mentally at the same time. It was so severe that he was going to get depression with all these tortures! The latter suffered due to the intense jealousy. She wanted to let go but she couldn’t. There were no other ways for her. And she suffered deeply.

Lin Wan was so focused on healing herself mentally that she finally crossed the line.

Li Mu enjoyed his times with He Xiaoyu more and more. He felt that she was flawless. She was gentle, considerate, caring, and lovely. When he was upset, he’d instantly relax upon looking at her.

He Xiaoyu’s sharp senses picked this up. Sometimes, the weak will have sharper senses than the strong due to the latter being too proud and boastful while the former is always looking for the right moment to pounce on their prey.

What made He Xiaoyu notice that something was wrong was the look in Li Mu’s gaze, which became more and more complicated when he looked at Lin Wan, and gentler when he looked at herself.

At first, He Xiaoyu didn't know why. But gradually she realized what was going on. And she couldn't help but silently cheer in her heart.

“This self-righteous woman was so stupid. The fact that she did not use the child as her advantage but played silly games with Li Mu was such a foolish act!” He Xiaoyu thought.

She was completely relieved that her opponent was pathetically naive when it came to relationships. It seemed like she had overestimated her!

“Thank you for taking care of me all this time. I don’t know whether you were showing me how much you love me, or you were just trying to get back at me. But this has become a burden that I couldn't take anymore. We both need to calm down for a while and think about our futures respectively!”

Now it was Lin Wan's turn to be furious. She didn't dare to make a scene inside the house. So she ran into the courtyard while smashing and cursing. Lin Wan could’ve set the house on fire if she hadn't been stopped by Mrs. Hong.

The relationship issues of this couple were tormenting Mrs. Hong to death. She felt that in all those years she had lived, none of them was as tormenting as this one.

She didn’t know whether to pity Lin Wan or to get mad at her. She was obviously at advantage. Why did she had to turn the tables again?

Mrs. Hong couldn't help but complain to Lin Wan, “What’s the point of tormenting him? If you don't want to be with him, just let him go! If you still want to be together with him, then let go of the resentment in your heart and live happily ever after with him! This was such a simple matter. Why did you have to complicate it?”

Lin Wan began to argue back and blamed Mrs. Hong instead, “Wasn't it you who told me not to rush the remarriage? Wasn't it you who told me to train him first? Why are you blaming me instead?”

Mrs. Hong was so angry that she sighed repeatedly. Yet she didn't dare to get mad at Lin Wan. Hence she explained patiently, “Lin Wan, I did ask you not rush the remarriage. But you can still love each other like before. I meant that there was no rush for you to announce the remarriage to the public. I was not suggesting you to mess up the relationship!”

“When I asked you to train him, I meant for you to train him in terms of lifestyle, career, and physical fitness, but not to torment him emotionally. These are two completely different things! For example, in our family, there are often couples who fight in the arena. But when they get out of the ring, they are still a loving couple. They don't torment each other emotionally. Can you understand what I’m saying?”

“Then why can't he pamper me? If he did so, I'll be able to forgive him and agree to remarry him!”

“How else do you want him to pamper you? He begged you to remarry every single day and asked for your forgiveness. But have you ever agreed? You constantly triggered him with your words. She knew it had something to do with Lin Wan's childhood and her personality. She thought that this divorce would turn Lin Wan into a matured woman. But Lin Wan ended up being even more childish than before.

“You failed to turn him into a man who acts lowly. And you want to be the one who acts lowly now! Hey! What the hell is wrong with you? You're going to be a mother soon. Can't you be a little more rational?”

“Then what else do you want me to do? Should I just die together with him? Mrs. Hong, I’ll leave the Lin family to you. I'll die together with him and the baby in my tummy!”
