He Xiaoyu finally sensed that something was wrong. She knew that something bad must have happened. Otherwise, Lin Wan would not have taken the initiative to apologize or request to meet her that eagerly.

It was very simple actually. Lin Wan obviously had the upper hand in their current situation. It made no sense for her to stop now that she was just one step away from destroying Dongyang Group’s mobile business.

Actually, the repeated meetings of the top management of Dongyang Group these days were in vain.

He Xiaoyu immediately shifted her attention to Mrs. Hong. She glared at her eagerly and urged her to speak up repeatedly.

Mrs. Hong glared at her and was displeased with her attitude. Nevertheless, she still told them what happened that very evening.

He Xiaoyu was so angry that she cried out and cursed, “Lin Wan, are you happy now? Why didn’t you let him go? Are you happy now that he’s gone? You’re such a jinx. What on earth did Li Mu do to meet such a scumbag like you?”

“You b**ch. Watch your words! Don't force me to be rude to you!” Mrs. Hong said unhappily.

He Xiaoyu spat hard on the ground and did not want to talk to them anymore. She turned around to leave while Lin Wan hurriedly tugged her, “Where are you going?”

“Let go of me!” He Xiaoyu tried to shake her off but in vain. She swung around and raised her palm to give Lin Wan a slap on the face.

Lin Wan didn't dodge and waited for Xiaoyu’s hand to land on her face. But Mrs. Hong couldn’t stand still and grabbed hold of He Xiaoyu's wrist. She said grimly, “Don't you dare touch her!”

He Xiaoyu struggled a few times before crying out upon realizing she wouldn’t be able to break free, “The two of you, let go of me! What's the use of pestering me when we could hurry up and find Li Mu now?”

Lin Wan pleaded gently, “Xiaoyu, can we find him together? Please help me. I’ve run out of ideas.”

“And what makes you think I know how to fund him? Don’t you know Li Mu well enough? He's not simply running away from you this time. He's planning to start his life all over again. None of us are in this plan of his. Don't you get it yet?”

A large group of security guards gathered behind them. And the head of the group asked, “Miss, do you need help?”

He Xiaoyu turned his head and cursed, “Get lost! All of you!”

The guards dispersed in a huff. Mrs. Hong loosened her grip and became less rude.

She then went on, “Li Mu calls you Miss Hong so I'll call you that too. Miss Hong, I’ve been wondering about something. Why didn't you stop him when he told you he was leaving? Wasn’t that a piece of cake for you? Why didn't you do so?”

Lin Wan turned her head sharply and stared deadly at Mrs. Hong.

The latter said frankly, “I was too angry. Anger took over my conscience when he told me he wanted to leave. I was furious and despised his cowardice, and thought that he did not deserve Lin Wan. So I’d rather him to get lost!”

Lin Wan trembled in anger and pointed her finger at Mrs. Hong, “You…-”

“Lin Wan, I'm sorry. I regretted it as soon as he left. But I didn't take it seriously and thought it would be good to let him calm down for a few days. I have now realized how serious it was. Don't worry. I promise I’ll find him out for you!”

It was almost dawn when Lin Kun who was answering the phone stood up abruptly. He covered the phone’s speaker and said to them, “I’ve got news!”

The three women stood up in union while Lin Wan asked first, “Where is he?”

“The high-speed rail station. He left Shanyang City already.”

“Let's go to the station!” Mrs. Hong made a decision on the spot and took the lead by heading outside.

They rushed to the high-speed rail station and checked the CCTV footage in the surveillance room. Lin Wan and He Xiaoyu's faces turned distorted. Feeling sad and devastated, they gritted their teeth hard!

“Who is that woman?” Confused, Mrs. Hong asked.

“Shen Xingyue!” The two women replied together through gritted teeth.

Mrs. Hong was sensible enough to not ask any more questions. But Lin Kun, who obviously was less wise asked curiously, “What is the relationship between this woman and Li Mu? Why did she leave with him?”

“Get the hell out!” Lin Wan screamed.

Lin Kun cowered in fear and scuttled away immediately.

The train's destination was the capital city. After some effort, they got the footage of the destination station’s exit gate. To everyone's surprise, there was no sign of Li Mu and Shen Xingyue among the exiting passengers.

The few of them came up with a conclusion that Li Mu had got off the train midway. Lin Wan suddenly had a bad feeling as she began to wonder if the purpose of Li Mu's move was to avoid being found by her.

The train stopped a total of 11 times from Shanyang to the capital city. All 11 stations that were involved were located outside the city. So it was a challenge for them to retrieve the CCTV footage.

Fortunately, He Xiaoyu's connections were strong enough. And the 11 stations were all under the Shanyang Railway Bureau. Miss He got the permission letter from the Shanyang General Administration while Lin Wan immediately dispatched her people to investigate each station.

At last, they finally found out that Li Mu and Shen Xingyue had both got off the train at Jin City. But they had not left the station. Instead, they bought two tickets for a long-distance train and left.

This long-distance train was a green train with 32 stops in between, and belonged to various railway authorities, which made it difficult for further investigation.

At this very critical moment, it was He Xiaoyu who made a difference by contacting the railway group through her father's connections. After a lot of effort, they finally got the footage of all the stations after half a month.

However, what they saw was a huge disappointment. Li Mu and Xingyue did not appear in any of the footage. It was as if two living people had inexplicably disappeared just like that.

He Xiaoyu and Mrs. Hong were both puzzled. But Lin Wan who had already guessed the reason muttered, “I guess all our efforts are useless.
