After saying that, He Xiaoyu stared at Lin Wan and tried to look as relaxed as possible as if no one had been on the bed.

Lin Wan chuckled and took up her phone to look at it. He Xiaoyu looked very relaxed still while staring at her as if nothing had been there.

Ten seconds were fleetingly short. To He Xiaoyu, it was not a problem at all. When she thought she could pass the test, suddenly Lin Wan’s face appeared in front of her with her eyes staring straight at her.

He Xiaoyu screamed and almost flipped because of the shock.

Lin Wan quickly got hold of the chair and said, “Do you still want to keep it?”

“Since when did you come over here? Are you a human or a ghost?”

“I'll beat you up if you talk nonsense again. Of course, I'm a human. I was here for quite a while already. But I have used a deceptive trick to make you think that I was still on the bed!”

He Xiaoyu held her chest and was in great shock. Her heart was pounding, yet she felt a little embarrassed when she saw her disdainful face. She tried to argue with her and said, “This is not fair. You scared me deliberately. This test doesn't count.”

Lin Wan did not talk back but replied gently, “That's how they usually test the living person and see whether they can find anyone who can see them. Xiaoyu, don't be stubborn. Nobody can pretend that they can't see them when they can do it.”

“Let me reconsider it. Okay?”

Lin Wan stopped persuading her and went to lie down on her bed with her eyes closed again.

“Lin Wan!” He Xiaoyu called her gently.

“Yeah!”

“Zombies use deceptive tricks on themselves too?”

“Yeah. The simple one. They can't fool you anymore once you have awakened your spiritual eye because you can see their real selves.”

He Xiaoyu did not ask further because she realized that Lin Wan's deceptive trick was obviously a lot more advanced. Though her spiritual eye was awakened, she could not see through it still.

“Come over here!” Suddenly, Lin Wan exclaimed.

“Ah!” He Xiaoyu asked in surprise, “Are you calling me?”

“Shhh!”

Lin Wan put her finger on her mouth and whispered to her, “They are here. Don't sit there. Come nearer to me!”

He Xiaoyu ran towards her and sat close to her.

“Who are they?”

“Must be someone from the ancient clan. Their auras are exactly the same!”

He Xiaoyu became nervous instantly and started having cold sweat. Worriedly, she asked, “What do they want to do?”

“Humph. They must be here to take revenge. We went to disturb them in the daytime so they came to explore our camp at night.” Lin Wan said disdainfully.

“Are you guys going to fight with them?”

“Well, we'll see what they're going to do. I will give them some face if they are not too over. But once they have gone overboard, I'll make sure they can't go back alive!”

“Let's call the police!”

Lin Wan rolled her eyes and scolded her in a low voice, “I'll throw you out of the room if you dare to speak like an idiot again!”

He Xiaoyu dared not open her mouth after that. Nervously, she stayed close to Lin Wan and kept looking at her.

Lin Wan's expression seemed very relaxed at first. But gradually, her face became serious. And eventually, she became infuriated.

“What's wrong?”

“They are rude! How dare they intrude directly into our place. They must be ignorant of how powerful the Lin family is. That's why they're so daring!”

“The fight started already?”

“Yeah, Number six has attacked them!”

“Why can't I hear any noise from outside?”

Lin Wan chuckled and explained to her, “Daoist fighting is different from a gangster fight. You wouldn't hear any noise from them. They are fighting right now. Some of the opponents are injured! “

“I thought you told me that they're here to spy the place. Why did they start fighting with us?”

“Intrusion is a way of exploring the camp. One can use extreme methods to teach the strangers a lesson if one is confident that he can defeat them. This is to show off one's power by killing one's opponent!”

He Xiaoyu smiled and said, “I'm sure they didn't expect that all of you are very powerful. I guess they're going to have a hard time with you all!”

“Well, it's too early for you to say that. They're quite smart. See, their strategy to lure the tiger out of the mountains works, doesn't it? Please come in since you're here already, my friends!”

Lin Wan purposely said the last two lines at a higher volume so that the people outside the door could hear them.

Subconsciously, He Xiaoyu gripped her hand and looked at her in great shock.

Lin Wan whispered, “Xiaoyu, close your eyes if you are scared!”

He Xiaoyu nodded and opened her eyes even bigger.

Without any sign, two people suddenly appeared in the room.

They were a middle-aged man and a middle-aged woman who seemed to be in their forties. Both of them were surrounded by some black gas. Expressionlessly, they looked at Lin Wan.

“Who are you?” The middle-aged woman asked coldly.

“A passer-by. What about you?” Lin Wan asked her in return.

“The housekeeper!” The middle-aged woman replied.

“If that is so, we should part our ways in peace since we have nothing to do with each other!”

“It's too late!” The middle-aged man said, “Your people have killed my people!”

Lin Wan answered contemptuously, “What's the big deal? We allow you to intrude on our camp so you should allow us to kill your people. I don't see any problem with it!”

“Such an arrogant girl! You guys are the rude ones who trespassed into our clan's territory. And now you blamed us for intruding on your camp.”

“Those who are ignorant should be forgiven. We have indeed trespassed into your clan's territory. But we got out of Zhou Feng district the moment we were stopped by your people. You guys have broken the rules by coming over to our place now.”

“Fifth brother, stop wasting time talking with her. We'll take her back to Second grandfather and let her speak to him directly!”

He nodded his head. The black gas around them increased tremendously. In a blink of an eye, it turned into two roaring black skulls that dashed towards both of them.

He Xiaoyu screamed out of fear, but Lin Wan was not bothered by it at all. Instantly, she got up and walked towards them with a red light shining around her body.

The black skulls stopped halfway and shuddered backward. Subsequently, the middle-aged man and woman were horrified and tried to invoke spells desperately. They wailed in pain but could not move forward even half an inch. They realized that they had bumped into a veteran. And their faces showed a horrified expression.

Lin Wan walked towards them, and the skulls were forced to retreat to the top of their heads. They retracted into their bodies, and both of them snorted with their face turning pale instantly.

“Answer my questions honestly!” Lin Wan said gently.

“Eighth sister!” The middle-aged man shouted hoarsely, “She is a cultivator from South Seas. Don't let her control your mind!”

Both of them stared at Lin Wan fiercely. Their eyes were full of resentment. Blood started to ooze from their mouths. And subsequently, both of them fell to the floor powerlessly!

Lin Wan shrugged and walked back to the bed with disappointment. She went near He Xiaoyu and lied down on the bed.

He Xiaoyu was dumbfounded as she stared at the two of them on the floor, who did not move for a long time.

Somebody knocked at the door and whispered, “Ms. Lin, it's me!”

“Come in!” Lin Wan replied.

Number six and the rest of them opened the door and saw the people on the floor. Without saying a thing, all of them knelt down before Lin Wan.

“I won't punish you this time. Be smarter the next round!” Lin Wan said calmly.

She waved and signaled them to leave the room. Number six gave an order softly, and a few of them moved the couple out of the room. After that, they left the room speedily and closed the door.

He Xiaoyu stared at what happened in front of her blankly and could not react even until now.

Lin Wan slapped her buttock and He Xiaoyu finally came back to her senses after a loud scream.

The scene was too thrilling for her. She felt that it was as if she was in a dream. It was not only a dream but a terrifying nightmare.

What she had experienced today was more exciting than what she had gone through in the past twenty years. He Xiaoyu was not sure of her current feelings. She felt like crying all of a sudden.

“Why did you scream? Are you dumbfounded by what you saw?” Lin Wan teased her.

“Lin Wan, you should let Li Mu stay with me. I don't think he can live a life like this. He is the same with me, who like to live a life that is without all these spiritual beings.”

Out of no way, He Xiaoyu started talking all this nonsense and made Lin Wan nearly fainted after hearing them. She could not help slapping her buttock two more times!

“I'll turn you into a zombie if you continue to say all this nonsense!”

He Xiaoyu dared not say a thing at once. Lin Wan kicked her buttock after that.

“Go back to your room and sleep. I'll get my people to guard at your room door. Don't worry. Neither human nor ghost can enter your room!”

He Xiaoyu stood up obediently and started walking towards the door. Halfway, she turned around and asked, “What had happened to the intruders?”

“They are dead!” Lin Wan said casually.

“You killed them!” He Xiaoyu pointed at her and said in horror.

Lin Wan grabbed a pillow and threw it at her. She scolded her, “Are you blind? They committed suicide. What is that to do with me?”

He Xiaoyu dodged the pillow and hesitated for a while. After that, she begged Lin Wan and said, “Please let me stay here tonight. I can sleep on the chair.”

Lin Wan took a glance at her. Subsequently, she got up and moved a little to the side. “Sleep in the bed with me then. Let me warn you first. I'll throw you out of the window if you dare to snore, fart, or grind your teeth!”

He Xiaoyu picked up the pillow and strolled to the bed happily. She lied down beside Lin Wan after making the bed. She murmured, “Don't worry. I don't really move when I sleep.”

Both of them lied down in the bed and switched off the light. He Xiaoyu turned her back against Lin Wan and stared at the room door with her eyes wide open. Somehow, she was worried and anxious.

As if she could see through her heart, Lin Wan asked at the back, “So, you have started to feel scared?”

“Yeah. I'm scared. Do you guys always do this kind of thing?”

“It depends on situations. Most of the time, we live a normal life. Occasionally, situations like this will arise but not very often, though.”

“What exactly were the skulls? Did they exist for real?”

“Yes and no. What you see might not be real. What you can't see might not be fake. Do you understand what I said?”
