“I guess I have understood a little. I'll need some time to digest what you said. It's difficult for me to accept it in just a short while.” He Xiaoyu admitted honestly.

“You'll be able to accept it if you become one of us. There are many weirder things in the world than this. You will find this a small thing after experiencing the rest of them.”

“Why did they commit suicide?”

This was the question that He Xiaoyu wanted to know the most. She felt that it was rather strange for the middle-aged man and woman to kill themselves. She suspected that Lin Wan had done something secretly to them.

Lin Wan did not hide the truth from her and answered as it was, “They were backlashed by the spells and did not have any power to defend themselves anymore. Also, they did not want to be controlled by me. So they decided to kill themselves!”

“Ah, I see. So you wanted to control them. I get it now. You wanted to ask them whether they were from the Shen Family and from there got to know Li Mu's whereabout?” He Xiaoyu suddenly understood Lin Wan's motive.

“Yeah. Not sure how that bad guy is doing now. I thought of getting some information about him but didn't expect them to be so aggressive. Alas!”

He Xiaoyu felt that they had wasted a chance and agreed with her, “Yeah. We didn't really do anything to them. Who would expect that they would kill themselves? The way they acted was too extreme!”

“Probably they had misunderstood us. They were probably from an ancient clan that lived in seclusion with some hidden secrets. I guess they thought we wanted to expose their secrets.”

“Still, they shouldn't act rashly. Why didn't they talk to us in peace instead of choosing to fight with us? They might have survived if they had chosen to communicate with us nicely.”

Lin Wan laughed and answered, “Well, probably because they saw both of us are ladies. One ordinary woman and one pregnant lady. They were too careless and thought they could bully us. That was the consequence that they had to bear!”

“If that was the case, they deserved the ending then!”

Mrs. Hong and Lin Kun managed to sneak into the red building. Both of them concealed their figures and went up the staircase slowly. Very quickly, they arrived on the third floor. Lin Kun signaled Mrs. Hong that the door that faced the stairs was the target place that they were looking for. 

302, Mrs. Hong could not help but furrow her brows. This place that was the source of the evil energy was the address of Shen Xingyue's household registration.

Though she had prepared herself mentally, she was shocked by the finding. The freaking woman was related to the ancient clan. Could Shen be the surname of this ancient clan?

This was going to be troublesome. It was impossible to get Li Mu out of this evil clan's control safely if he had related himself with them.

Meanwhile, Lin Kun had sneaked to the door and leaned against it to check whether there was an unusual sign. After making sure everything was safe, he beckoned to the back to signal Mrs. Hong to come forward. As Lin Kun was about to take action, Mrs. Hong grabbed hold of his wrist and shook her head slightly at him. 

She waved her hand to order Lin Kun to move back. She looked around and suddenly her eyes lit up. Subsequently, she caught a centipede and chanted a spell. After that, she bit her index finger and squeezed a drop of blood on it. 

The insect shook violently and moved vigorously in Mrs. Hong's palm. She smiled slightly and sent it into the room from the door gap. Then, she closed her eyes and tried to control the insect to move around in the room using her mental power.

About twenty minutes later, Mrs. Hong opened her eyes and blew a light breath towards the door to cut off her contact with the insect. Subsequently, she gestured towards Lin Kun and they withdrew from the place silently. 

After leaving the shantytown, Lin Kun could not help asking, “Mrs. Hong, are you sure?”

“Yeah. That's Shen Xingyue's house. There's no doubt that she has some relationships with an ancient clan. In other words, the surname of the ancient clan is Shen.”

“What did you see there?”

“Her longevity tablet was enshrined in the outhouse. There should be her birthplace. And somebody is trying to increase her lifespan by enshrining her tablet there!”

Lin Kun was taken aback. And then he realized something. With a surprised tone, he said, “No wonder the place was full of evil energy. The Shen Family has carried out a black magic ritual there. If the tablet was enshrined in her birthplace, her body should be in their ancestral land then. Mrs. Hong, we can find her ancestral land by tracing their Qi. Li Mu must be hiding there right now!”

“Good idea. It's better not to rush in doing it. They will need forty-nine days to finish the ritual of increasing her lifespan. We still have some time in hand. Let's go back and meet up with Miss Lin. Meanwhile, we'll wait for Third uncle and Fifth uncle to come and take action together with them!”

Both of them returned to their hiding place. They arrived late at night. Mrs. Hong crept to Lin Wan's room and leaned her ears against the door for a while. After that, she turned around and spoke to Lin Kun in a low voice, “Miss Lin has fallen asleep. Let's talk to her tomorrow morning!”

They went back to their rooms separately. As Mrs. Hong was about to sleep after she finished her shower and dried her hair, Lin Kun stood outside her room and asked, “Mrs. Hong, are you awake? I have something urgent to tell you!”

Mrs. Hong opened the door and saw Lin Kun kicking Number six and Number seven into her room. Both of them knelt down obediently and did not dare to lift their heads.

“What's wrong? What have they done wrong?” Mrs. Hong asked puzzledly.

“You idiots. Tell us what you had done!” Lin Kun instructed them angrily.

Both of them didn’t dare to conceal the truth. So they gave a thorough description of what had happened on that day. Mrs. Hong's face became more and more unhappy as she listened to them. Towards the end, she could not suppress her anger and gave each of them a slap.

The slaps were so powerful that both of them fell to the ground instantly. Blood dripped from their mouth as they got up from the ground.

They didn’t dare to talk back and quietly listened to her rebuke. 

Mrs. Hong scolded them and kicked them a few more times. Subsequently, she gave them an order, “From now onwards, there must be people guarding outside Miss Lin's room. Go and get your people to do it. Get off now!”

They got up immediately and bowed deeply towards Mrs. Hong. After that, they turned around and left her room in a hurry. 

Lin Kun closed the door after they left the room. He turned to Mrs. Hong and asked, “I checked and didn't see the person I met during the daytime. Mrs. Hong, did you see him in the house?”

“Neither did I. A few men were protecting the formation when I checked the house. I guess the person you met was one of them. I didn't know that they had killed our people. I thought it was better not to create more trouble and offend them. If I had known this earlier, I would have killed all of them!”

Lin Kun felt that they had wasted an opportunity. Their stamina, mental power, and physical strength were the weakest as they protected the formation. It was the best time to attack them. Lin Kun asked, “Mrs. Hong, what should we do now?”

“How many of them came just now?”

“Twelve of them. Miss Lin killed the two leaders. And the rest was settled by Number six and his group!”

“What about their dead bodies?”

“They've already burnt them. Everything was gone!”

Mrs. Hong nodded and ordered Lin Kun, “We can't stay here anymore. Let's wake Miss Lin up. We got to move to another new place at once!”

Mrs. Hong woke the two ladies up immediately. He Xiaoyu was alright but Lin Wan was annoyed by it. She took some time to fall asleep and was being called to wake up in such a short period. She was unhappy about it.

Sitting on the bed rubbing her head, Lin Wan complained to He Xiaoyu, “I'm not going to sleep with you anymore. You have so many bad habits while you sleep. I couldn't sleep at all because of you!”

“I didn't snore, fart or grit my teeth!” He Xiaoyu murmured.

“Yeah, you didn't do all that. But you talked in your dream! You made me nervous together with you when you got shocked in your dream!”

Mrs. Hong laughed and said, “Why didn't you hypnotize her? It was expected that she would have dreams during her sleep after experiencing all these shocks today.”

“I've promised my husband not to hypnotize her again. I got to walk my talk and not break the promise!”

Immediately, He Xiaoyu replied, “Please do so. I give you permission to do it. You don't have to listen to what Li Mu said.”

“You asked for it this time. You’d better think twice lest you regret it!”

“I'll never regret it. You can hypnotize me so that I can continue to sleep with you. Alright?”

“Come and sleep with me!” Mrs. Hong said, “Lin Wan is pregnant and she needs a lot of rest. I'll make sure you sleep tight every night if you sleep with me.”

Sharing bed with Mrs. Hong was a better idea. Therefore, He Xiaoyu nodded and agreed to it at once.

Lin Wan asked, “Mrs. Hong, are we going somewhere else now?”

Mrs. Hong briefly explained what they had found out as they explored the enemy’s territory in the car.

Lin Wan and He Xiaoyu looked at each other and could sense each other's worries.

“Mrs. Hong, you were saying that they are trying to increase Shen Xingyue's lifespan?” He Xiaoyu asked.

“Yeah. It can't go wrong. Her longevity tablet was on the altar and people were around the formation. Judging from the items on the altar, they should be doing that ritual!”

“You think it will be successful?”

“Not sure, though. Judging from the evil energy's intensity, it seemed like everything went according to their plan. If some advanced cultivators are backing them up in the family, most probably it will be successfully done.”

He Xiaoyu turned to Lin Wan and asked softly, “Lin Wan, what should we do now?”

“Don't panic. Let me think about it!”

Lin Wan looked hesitant and as if she was pondering whether to make that decision or not.
