“Oh my gosh!” Shen Zixing yelled and slammed down the coffin lid. She darted over and jumped into Li Mu’s arms, “Brother Mu, it can speak!”

Was she frightened? That was for sure! Who had ever seen a corpse talk? After all, she was just a little girl who had little experience. Hence, it was normal for her to be frightened.

Li Mu was stunned. Wasn’t this a dead corpse? It was scaring them to death instead! Why on earth could it talk?

Did the corpse just come back to life? That was not right though. It was three o’clock in the afternoon. A corpse came back to life during the daytime. What kind of monster was this?

“Run. Run away now!” Li Mu hurriedly commanded.

“I told you that a small ass is useless. Watch and learn!” Shen Ming’er said defiantly. Without waiting for Li Mu to stop her, she sped over and kicked the coffin lid off with one foot. Forking her waist, she stared at the Corpse of Death.

Though her butt was slightly larger than her sister’s, the two of them were of equal size and similar build. They also had the same attire and were wrapped up so tightly that the corpse misunderstood and thought that she was her sister.

“You brat. How dare you come back again? You boastful brat!”

Shen Ming’er’s eyes twinkled as she didn’t bother to correct it. She then said unconcernedly, “What’s the big deal about you anyway? All you’re good at is just using a little spell to scare people off. I was unprepared just now. Hence, I got frightened. I’m back now. Tell me, what can you do to me?”

“You brat! I warn you. Don’t even have second thoughts of this corpse! If you dare to touch it, I will hunt you down and you’ll wish you were never born! I’ll skin you alive!”

“Scoff. Lies! I’m not scared of you! I’ll move it right now. What can you do to me? Come on! Torture me! Let’s see who’ll win!”

With that, she removed one of the bones of the Corpse of Death.

“You brat. Put it back! What the hell do you want?”

Without waiting for Shen Ming’er to say anything, Li Mu shouted from a distance while pinching his nose, “Second senior sister, don’t listen to it! Take off the bones from its arms and legs. I’ll need them for later.”

With Li Mu’s command, Shen Ming’er complied and removed its bones. The Corpse of Death finally understood what was happening and shouted in surprise, “Who is giving orders? Are you planning to replace the bones?”

“That’s right. I know you’ve hidden the mark in the skull. But I don’t want the head. I only need the arms and thighs. Let’s see how you’ll hunt me down then.”

“You immoral brat! Put it back quickly. Do you know you’re wasting a treasure? You’re destroying ancient goods!”

“It’s your treasure being ruined, not mine. Why do I care? Well, this is mine now! You can take the rest. They’re useless anyway!”

“You little bastard. Do you know who I am? How dare you touch the belongings of the Cheng Family? I’ll not let you go!”

“Who the hell is the Cheng family? I’ve never heard of them. Revenge? Go ahead! That can only happen if you find me!”

The corpse was so angry that it cursed at her. Annoyed, Shen Ming’er reached out and grabbed a small insect from the corpse’s mouth and eye sockets respectively. The insect looked like a cicada insect with a pair of very large wings.

“Hmph, how dare you play such easy tricks in front of me?”

With a pinch, Shen Ming’er squished all three little insects and wrapped the bones in a cloth while walking back in triumph.

Li Mu who was watching all along finally understood what was going on. It turned out that the owner used a small spell. And it wasn’t the corpse coming back to life. Reassured, he gave her a thumbs up.

“Smart! How did you know?”

“I don’t!” Shen Ming’er said with a giggle, “I guessed it. Insects sound so bad.”

“The three insects know how to talk?”

Surprised, Li Mu asked, which was followed by some sense of regret. How interesting! Alas, they were killed by Shen Ming’er.

“Brother Mu, these bugs can’t talk!” Shen Zixing explained from the side, “Their wings are controlled by a magic spell. And they make sounds through their wing vibrations.”

So that was the case. Then there was nothing to be pitied about. With a wave of his hand, Li Mu said, “Come on. Let’s get out of here and talk as we go.”

The three of them went back the way they came. As for the coffin and the remaining bones, they didn’t bother to re-bury them and just left them there like that.

Like what Shen Ming’er said, the rest of the stuff was pretty much trash and was completely useless. Hence, they decided to just leave it there for it to decay naturally.

On the way back, the two girls explained to Li Mu what had just happened.

After burying the corpse here, the owner not only left markings inside the skull of the corpse but also some cicada insects in the mouth and eye sockets respectively to prevent someone from stealing it.

This was a cicada insect only found in the South Seas. These insects could help their owner observe the surroundings they were in and deliver messages on their owner’s behalf once a spell was cast upon them. They spoke by vibrating their large pair of wings.

As for the way they communicated with their owner, the mystery was all in that mark, which was both a mark and a spell in which the owner could give orders to them.

Of course, the cicadas couldn’t do much. They could only keep an eye on their owner’s surroundings and threaten people to scare them away.

Li Mu suddenly asked, “That man seemed to have mentioned the Cheng Family. Did you hear it too?”

The two sisters nodded together to show that they had heard it too.

The Cheng Family from the South Seas? Li Mu smiled coldly to himself. This Cheng Family he mentioned was most probably Cheng Feng’s family. In that case, this was a great coincidence.

“Friend?” Li Mu shook his head, “I was almost beaten to death alive by him! I don’t want a friend like this. If I had the chance, I would let him have a taste of his own medicine! Taking the bones of the corpse is merely an interest of what he’s owing me!”

“I see. Brother Mu, don’t worry. When we meet him in the future, we’ll take it out for you!” Shen Ming’er said indignantly, while her sister nodded repeatedly too.

“No. I am your brother. And if I rely on my sister’s help to take revenge, it’ll be so embarrassing for me! He was just good at kung fu. I will definitely be better than him in the future!”

Shen Zixing persuaded, “Brother Mu, although I don’t know the Cheng Family’s background well, my Master once said that the cultivator family’s heritage is very powerful. You are just an ordinary person and are far from them in terms of strength, speed, and endurance. Hence I don’t suggest you take the risk.”

“I was just about to discuss this matter with both of you!”

Shen Zixing asked carefully, “I seem to understand what you mean now. Brother Mu, are you planning to do a bone replacement?”

“Is it okay to do so?” Li Mu asked her apprehensively. He wasn’t sure how difficult it was for a bone replacement. Nor was he sure if it would cause him any side effects. Hence he wanted to make sure first.

“Of course!” The two sisters replied in almost unison.

They were obviously excited about it. Brother Mu was excellent at everything, except weakness being his only flaw. Although they did not mention anything about it, they still felt that it was somewhat of regret in their hearts.

Although they never admitted that Li Mu was a burden, it was true that Li Mu would be a burden if there was any sudden danger. They were worried that they would not be able to take care of Li Mu and that something bad would happen to him.

The best way to solve this problem was to make him stronger. He didn’t need to be extremely strong. But at least he needed to be strong enough to defend himself without any help.

From what she said, the bone replacement process was pretty scary.

First, the person was tied naked to an iron bed. And herbs were applied to his entire body, which was then followed by the dismantling of the body parts. Both arms and legs would be cut down and replaced with the bones of the Corpse of Death. Finally, magic spells and secret medicines were used to reproduce the flesh and skin.

The whole process took about a month. During this time, the patient was unable to move and must remain in a supine position, including eating, drinking, sleeping, and excreting on an iron bed. It sounded like hell!
