Shen Zixing started to use different reasons to try and persuade Li Mu to eat his own flesh.
Li Mu finally got impatient and said, “Aren’t you good in spells and having a lot of strange and weird tricks? And you’re trying to tell me that you don’t know how to deal with them? Don't lie to me! Shoo, go figure it out yourself!”
Exposed, the young lady smiled coyly and carried the huge pile of meat to the toilet.
In a short while, she returned with two empty hands and said regretfully, “Alright. It's all taken care of now. Brother Mu, get some rest. I'll go and buy you some meat.”
“Do you know how to spend money?” Li Mu asked worriedly.
“Yes!” The young lady said with a nod.
“Okay, let me test you then. The meat costs you sixty-seven point twenty-five yuan. You pay the vendor a hundred. How much is your change?”
“Why should he give me change?”
“Nonsense. Why shouldn’t he give you change? You gave him more than it costs. Of course, he has to give you change! This is called equivalent exchange. Do you understand?”
“Can’t I just buy meat that costs me a hundred yuan?”
Well, she had a point. In that case, the change was unnecessary. It seemed like she was quite clever.
Li Mu did not say anything anymore. Shen Zixing walked out proudly. And when she was almost at the door, she turned back and said, “The change should be thirty-two point seventy-five yuan. Simple calculations like this are a piece of cake to me.”
Shen Ming’er chimed in, “Brother Mu, the two of us know Bagua and Yin and Yang. Art and mathematics are the most basic compulsory course. You can’t beat my sister over this. And you are certainly not as smart as us too.”
“Go. Go and come back quickly. I’m starving!” Li Mu said grumpily.
Shen Zixing ran out cheekily.
There was a wholesale farmers' market not far downstairs. So it was easy for them to buy meat. To save time, Shen Zixing bought a large pile of cooked food in a big bag.
After taking it to the kitchen, she prepared the ingredients and boiled a large pot of healing soup. She then brought the cooked meat and healing soup to Li Mu by his bedside and fed him one bite at a time.
At first, it was just Li Mu who ate. But later, with his suggestion, the two sisters ate along with him.
The three of them ate the whole day non-stop. Li Mu looked fine as all that meat had made up for his lack of Qi and blood. Whereas the two sisters gained weight and were all plumped up.
A month later, Li Mu was finally able to get out of bed. The skin on his limbs had grown back and had a fairer complexion than before. His muscles were much more prominent. And he seemed to be a little taller than before.
Because it was a newly born limb, he looked stiff and had very poor body coordination. Li Mu knew that it would take time for him to recover and he shouldn’t be too anxious about it.
But he was curious to see how he was different from before and what advantages his new limbs possessed in terms of strength and speed.
His time to test it out soon arrived. Shen Zixing’s act of buying lots of meat every day finally drew attention.
There was a small park near the wholesale farmers' market. And a group of people gathered there to play cards every day.
Many people enjoyed playing cards for different purposes. Some played for fun. Some played to kill time. And there were people who played to earn money and support their families.
People like this existed in this group of people who played cards. To put it bluntly, these four unemployed brothers set up stalls in the small park every day to look after the card plays and collect commissions.
Shen Zixing needed to walk through the park every day to buy meat. With such a beautiful lady walking past the park with a huge bag of meat every time, it was difficult to not draw attention to her beauty.
The four hooligans didn't have any bad intentions at first. But they started greeting her after a while. Shen Zixing didn’t talk to them but had always smiled back. She acted the same way to everyone else. It was not that she had any good feelings for them, but she was just being polite.
As time passed, the youngest among them started to ponder. All three of his brothers were already married and he was the only one without a wife. If he could get his hands on her, he wouldn’t have to worry about his marriage anymore.
When he spoke to his brothers, they showed their support collectively and agreed that they suited each other and that they were the perfect match made in heaven. But alas, he was just a hobo that looked after chess matches. How could he ever be with such a beauty?
But of course, they wouldn’t think that way. One would always side with their family. Hence they thought he wasn’t too shabby and suited Shen Zixing well.
Encouraged by his three older brothers, the fourth brother started off by hitting on her and improvised by trying to block her way. Shen Zixing didn't pay any attention to him and went around him every time. With how skillful she was, how could a punk like him compete with her?
It would have been obvious to anyone who was attentive. With such slick moves, she was obviously someone good at martial arts. Anyone sensible enough would never dare to pester her anymore.
But as the old saying went, lust tended to drive someone out of their mind. And that was what happened to the fourth brother. He insisted that Shen Zixing was trying to play hard to get with him.
Finally, one day, he pissed Shen Zixing off, who kicked him ten meters away and left without looking back.
His brothers who were watching aside were all shocked and rushed to their brother. Fortunately, there wasn’t anything serious, as he wasn’t injured but just taken aback to the point where he fainted.
Shen Zixing was more mindful than her younger sister. She knew that Li Mu was recovering from his injuries hence it wouldn’t be right to cause trouble at this time. That was exactly why she deliberately controlled the intensity of her kick and just wanted to give him a small lesson.
If it had been her sister, she would have wagged her finger and told him to find a place to jump off a building.
When the fourth brother woke up, he wanted to seek revenge on Shen Zixing. Of course, his true intention was to use that as an excuse to pester her.
A lot of hooligans acted pretty much the same way as he did. If you ignored him, he would pester you endlessly. And once you did something to him, he would seize the opportunity to pester you on and on for that reason.
The four brothers were filled with rage. They had never been beaten up by a little girl before. What a disgrace! They made up their mind to find her out. They wanted compensation, both in terms of money and Shen Zixing herself.
They had quite the say in the area and immediately gathered a few hooligans. They ran to the downstairs of Li Mu's rented room and demanded a statement.
The fourth brother had secretly tailed Shen Zixing before. Hence he knew which building and which flat she lived in. However, he didn’t know which unit specifically was she in. So they knocked on doors from house to house.
Some homes were occupied and some were empty. But it didn’t matter anyway as nobody opened doors for them. Obviously, who would have the courage to open doors to a bunch of hooligans outside their doors?
The hooligans didn't dare to go too far, as they were barely in the right. After all, they were the ones being beaten up. If they acted too out of line, the police might be involved. So, after knocking on the door to no avail, they gathered at the bottom of the building and cursed loudly.
With them slamming and yelling continuously, Li Mu was alarmed and kept asking her what was going on. Shen Zixing wasn’t good at lying yet didn't want to worry Li Mu. So she stammered and refused to say what happened.
Li Mu understood it all now. Judging by her expressions, it must be related to Shen Zixing. Under his repeated questioning, Shen Zixing finally told it all.
Li Mu smashed the table there and then. How did they have the guts to bully his sister? He was so mad that he wanted to kill them!
He wasn’t against the two sisters making friends outside, and even encouraged them to be brave enough to go out. But he never approved of them making friends with literally anyone. A bunch of hooligans like them dared to hit on his sister. Were they trying to dig their own grave?
Li Mu opened the door and rushed out. The hooligans downstairs were cursing vigorously when they suddenly saw a man hopping his way.
Why did he hop? Sigh, Li Mu had no other choice. His body coordination was too poor and he couldn’t walk normally. He couldn’t walk fast and tended to fall easily. Hence, it was much easier for him to hop.
The hooligans were wondering what the hell was going on. Was this a zombie in broad daylight?
Behind Li Mu were the two sisters. Seeing their elder brother going against these hooligans, they had to back him up and not let him be at disadvantage at any point.
The two sisters were snitched by their Master, considering how witty Third Grandaunt was. What started off as having fun together took a worse turn.
Li Mu’s assumptions weren’t wrong at all. The old lady was just talking nonsense and fooling her disciples for fun.
The two ladies were not bald before and only lost their hair after they went to the mountains. This was due to the martial arts they practiced. However, their hair naturally grew back when they encountered a specific situation.
This specific situation happened when the evil energy overpowered, which in turn broke the prohibition of their hair growth. Hence, it helped them to re-grow their hair.
In other words, even without Li Mu touching their heads, their hair should’ve grown already. In other words, whoever touched their heads would help them in growing their hair.
It was pretty obvious where the evil energy was from.
Back in the day, when the two young ladies and their master would occasionally go down the mountains. They would look at girls of the same age who had beautiful hair. Looking back at their own bald heads, they couldn’t help but feel insecure. There was nothing but envy in their eyes. And they didn't even dare to initiate a friendship with others.
Third Grandaunt felt so bad for them that she read their fortune and found out that their hair would regrow someday and that it would be the day when the Shen Family would be reborn.
When the old lady was happy, she was willing to chat with her disciples. However, she made up stories and told them fairytales.
When she was still a child, she went to school for a few years. However, she didn't like to study and only liked to listen to her teacher telling stories. She remembered a story about a frog prince saving a princess and made up a fairy tale for the two sisters based on that.
She had long since lost track of the details of what her teacher had said. And the book her teacher had read was a pirated version. With such confusion, it became even worse after she modified it.
The two ladies were convinced and had been looking forward to a frog prince showing up to touch their bald heads so they could grow their hair and also marry the man of their choice.
Later, Li Mu was lucky enough to be the toad.
As a master, she shouldn’t have fooled her disciples in matters of principle. It might be all right for her to just say it. But those who listen to it may remember it for the rest of their lives and even suffer from it.
