“Brother Mu, do we still need to run away from them?” Shen Zixing asked seriously.

Li Mu hesitated for a while and replied affirmatively, “Yeah. I will not take the initiative to seek peace with her. In that case, the Lin Family will persecute me for a lifetime. I am still in love with her but I don’t want to obey her in everything. My surname is Li and not Lin!”

“Then, if you never meet her again, won’t you regret it?”

“That only means that our relationship has come to an end. There is nothing to regret. And we are all set for our destiny!” Li Mu said profoundly.

“Brother Mu, do we need a lot of money in the future?” Shen Ming’er asked suddenly.

Li Mu nodded his head and replied solemnly, “Yes, we’ll need a lot of money. A lot of them. Without money, we can’t go anywhere.”

“Brother Mu, we will have lots of money soon.” The girl said mysteriously. And after finishing speaking, she blinked at him.

“What do you mean? Oh, I see. You mean we’ll go and rob the bank!”

Shen Ming’er was taken aback. Subsequently, she waved at him and hurriedly explained, “That was not what I’m trying to say. Stop teaching us to do bad things. I’m talking about the treasure!”

“Treasure? What treasure?” Li Mu asked curiously.

“Gold. There is a gold mine hidden deep in the dense forest in the north. There is a lot of gold in it. If we go there to get some gold, we’ll get a lot of money out of it.”

Li Mu immediately became interested and went nearer to them. In a low voice, he asked, “How did you know about it?”

Shen Ming’er said with a grin, “The Shen Family’s treasure is hidden there right now!”

Li Mu looked at her in disbelief. He asked her in a worried tone, “How dare you want to do this rebellious act? Aren’t you afraid of your people punishing you after that?”

“We’re not going to take everything, but just a little. The family members won’t find out anyway!”

“It’s not good to do it, isn’t it? It’s such a shameful act!”

“We need a lot of money, don’t we?”

“Yeah, we need lots of money!”

“Then, we shouldn’t hesitate any longer. We’ll take just a little of it. They won’t pay much attention to it. Even if someone finds out, we’ll say it’s for our dowry.”

Li Mu had been numbed to the girls’ nonsense for a long time. He would let them say whatever they wanted as long as they were happy after that. He was too lazy to correct their thoughts.

However, what the younger sister said was reasonable. There should be no problem with taking a little bit of them. In the future, they would need a lot of money. They could not always steal money from others!

“Zixing, where is the place your sister said? What’s it called?”

Three of them made up their minds and decided to set off the next day to visit the treasures of the Shen Family.

On the morning of the next day, Li Mu brought the girls to buy some stuff such as food, folding shovels, tents, sleeping bags, flashlights, and a portable solid fuel stove. Nine large backpacks were packed at the end.

When others went out for a trip, they would consider packing lightly. Usually, they would simplify their travel equipment by taking what was needed only. They would not waste their storage space and add unnecessary load to themselves.

However, they were different since they had superpowers. They did not mind bringing a lot of stuff with them. For Li Mu, he had almost wanted to bring along everything in the shop with him.

Many people started staring at them as they walked out of the store. For most of them, they would be at their limit as they carried a backpack and a handbag to travel.

These three people were so different that they carried a backpack, with another one on top of it horizontally. On top of that, there were two bags in each of their hands, yet they could walk very fast. It was as if all the bags were stuffed with cotton only.

Finally, the three of them came to the freight station. Li Mu planned to hire a truck driver. In reality, what he wanted to do was to actually find a truck that was going up north and take a free ride.

The truck drivers were rather clever. Nobody bothered to help them after seeing their heavy backpacks and knowing that the place that they wanted to go to was quite remote.

Li Mu tried to be polite with them but no one took him seriously somehow. Li Mu finally got angry and gave his second sister a look. The best hitman, Shen Zixing, immediately took action. With just a shake of her finger, she made a truck driver obediently let them hop into the truck.

The truck driver drove all the way north. Under Zixing’s guidance, after driving for more than a full day, they finally arrived at the transit point of the trip, Tahe County in the hinterland of Daxinganling.

The place was not far from the destination. The truck could not drive any further so Li Mu and the others had to change to another car here.

Under Li Mu’s instruction, Zixing “hired” an SUV. The three of them carried their pieces of luggage into the car. Then, Li Mu drove himself and continued heading northwest.

After they had gone far, the truck driver came to his senses, wondering where he was at. After he figured out the direction, he slapped his thigh and cried. He wanted to go Yuntai but he had come to the Lussian border. The distance of traveling was more than 3,400 kilometers. How much gas would it cost him!

The mountain road gradually became difficult to navigate. In the end, the road was covered with snow and ice and the risk of driving increased gradually. Li Mu and the girls had no choice but to hire a horse-drawn sleigh driver to move on in their journey.

They did hire the driver this time by paying him the transportation fee. The Shen sisters did not shake their fingers anymore. This stretch of the route would not cost much money. So they decided not to be so stingy about it.

The one who handled the sleigh was an old man who looked like in his seventies. He was a talkative man and started talking to Li Mu casually once they hopped into the sleigh.

“Boss, where do you want to go?”

“Jiu Feng Gou!”

The old man shivered and turned his head over and looked at them. He could not help but ask, “Why do you want to go there?”

“One of our elders stays there. We want to pay him a visit!”

Again, he shivered and said suddenly, “I see. So, you’re there to bring your family member back home. Sigh. Very few people go there nowadays. Usually, people will only go there to bring their family members back to their homeland.”

Li Mu could not understand what the old man was saying. However, he did not ask further as he was worried that he would be suspicious about him. Therefore, he gave him a casual reply.

“Who are these girls to you?” The old man asked.

“They’re my sisters!”

“I see. You guys are siblings.”

The old man did not say anything for quite a while after that. Silently, he drove the sleigh. Li Mu was quite pleased with it, though, as he had some time to take some rest.

About three hours later, the old man gave a signal to stop the horses. Then, he said to Li Mu, “Boss, here it is!”

Li Mu opened his eyes and looked around. There were mountains on both sides with green pines and white snow. It looked solemnly cold and eerie. A winding road extended into the hill. It had been covered with snow. So they could not clearly see the road condition. Though they were uncertain about it, they guessed that must be the road leading to the mountain.

“Boss, take this road and walk for seven or eight miles into the mountains and you’ll reach Jiu Feng Gou. The sleigh can’t go into this road. I can only take you until here.”

Li Mu signaled the girls to get off the sleigh and took the pieces of luggage down from it. Looking at their bags, the old man grinned. The mountain road was rugged and difficult to walk even without luggage. How long would it take for them to reach there with so many pieces of luggage with them!

“Boss, you can leave your luggage here. I can keep watch for you. After you pick up your family member, I can send all of you back to the county.”

“Thank you, Mister!” Li Mu said politely, “We’re not going to the county so soon as we will be traveling around Jiu Feng Gou for a few days. We’ll go back after that.”

The old man stared at him with his eyes wide open. He looked at Li Mu in horror.

“Young man, have you gone mad? Do you know what this place is? How dare you go there for sightseeing! Don’t you know it’s a dangerous place?”

Li Mu looked at him in shock. The old man’s reaction was totally beyond his expectation. He had always thought that Jiu Feng Gou was just an ordinary place. He did not expect it to be a dangerous place.

“Mister, what is so dangerous about this place? Can you tell me more about it?”

The old man whispered, “Young man, you’re not here to visit your family member, aren’t you? You must be here for an adventure. Listen to me and don’t go in there. Many dead bodies are there. It’s a haunted place!”

“Dead bodies? Who were they?”

“They were all former gold diggers. They heard that there was gold here and they all came to pan for gold. However, no one could come back safely. And all of them died there. No one was spared, except...”

“Except?”

“Except you don’t touch anything and only take away the bones of your family members. Then only you can come out safely. Otherwise, all of you will become sacrifices for the evil god.”

Evil god. Li Mu could not understand it. How could there be an evil god in it? Did the evil god exist here, or was he enshrined here?

“Mister, who is this evil god you’re talking about?”

“He is what he is called. He’s the protector of these mountains and the protector of Jiu Feng Gou. He doesn’t allow anyone to take away anything from Jiu Feng Gou except the corpse bones.”

The old man said solemnly.

Shen Zixing instructed his sister, “Ming’er, send this Mister back!”

Shen Ming’er got the instruction and stretched out her right index finger. Then, she shook it in front of the old man and whispered to him a few words.

The old man was sluggish for a moment. Then, he turned to the sleigh and got into the cart. Subsequently, he flicked the whip and drove the sleigh back the same way he came over here.

Li Mu hurried up to stop him but was dragged tightly by the girls. They let go of him when after the sleigh had gone far.
