Mrs. Hong looked at Li Mu with an aggrieved expression.

“I was afraid that you would stab me with the hairpin. So I kept biting the tip of my tongue to keep myself awake. When it was my turn to say out my number, I was so nervous that I bit my tongue too deeply. I didn’t expect that I can’t run away from being stabbed. It’s such a painful one!”

Li Mu immediately apologized and returned the hairpin to Lin Wan.

“Never mind. I’d offend someone every time I stab one of you. I’m not going to do it anymore. You’re more suitable to play this role since you’re the master. You should be doing this!”

Lin Wan pushed away his hand.

“You’re better in doing it. It’s normal for us to scold you after you stab us. Don’t be so calculative.”

Since everyone believed in Li Mu, he decided to continue to do it!

Soon after that, Lin Wan became the next victim. After Lin Wan was awake, she took the opportunity to complain about Li Mu about their past and kept asking him to give her an explanation of what had happened.

He Xiaoyu immediately saved Li Mu from embarrassment and said, “Did you realize that every one of us had dreamed at least once already?”

Li Mu pouted his lips towards Mrs. Hong.

“Mrs. Hong did not fall asleep so you can’t count her in. She bit her tongue and was hurt by me by mistake!”

Lin Wan was a little afraid, “Mrs. Hong, you got to be careful. I’m worried that you’ll be stabbed again. Then, what you went through just now will be wasted.”

Mrs. Hong frowned and said nervously, “No way. Li Mu had pierced my finger. It’s painful and I’m sure I won’t fall asleep.”

“What she said is reasonable.” He Xiaoyu immediately echoed her view, “For sure she won’t fall asleep because of the pain. The ones who are at risk are Li Mu and the sisters.”

Li Mu snorted and bragged, “With my willpower, I’m afraid it’ll take a long time to get me to fall asleep!”

The sisters told them that they could go without sleep for seven to eight days without feeling sleepy. Therefore, they would for sure not fall into the trap.

Lin Wan pouted her lips, stretched her hand, and spoke to Li Mu, “Give me back my hairpin!”

Li Mu handed the hairpin over to her and cheerfully said, “This Dream Valley is quite powerful. And there must be some hidden tricks to lure us into sleep. Yet, it’s wishful thinking to lure me to sleep. I have strong willpower. And it won’t be successful in luring me to sleep.”

Lin Wan waved the hairpin in her hand and threatened him, “If you dare to fall asleep, I will use this hairpin to stab you. Humph!”

“Are you trying to take revenge against me?”

“Yeah. And I’ll for sure not be merciful towards you!”

Li Mu whispered in her ear, “I’ll give you this opportunity to stab me. After we leave here, I’ll for sure stab you hard later!”

Lin Wan blushed and rolled her eyes.

Li Mu laughed and said to the group, “Let’s go! We should leave here as soon as possible. Cheer up, guys. And don’t fall asleep!”

Everyone continued walking forward while saying their numbers out loud to check who had fallen asleep.

They did not know how long they had walked and were not sure how many rounds of counting they had done. This valley that was filled with bloodstones seemed to have no end.

Lin Wan’s finger was still aching and secretly she scolded Li Mu for hurting her so much. She could not help but give him a stare and found out that he looked a little stunned.

“Honey, let’s take a break! The more we walk, the more I feel uneasy.”

“One!”

“Two! Three! Four... Seven!” Another round of counting ended with Lin Kun’s last count!

Lin Wan was very nervous and she waved her hands in front of Li Mu.

“What are you doing?” Li Mu got hold of her hands and pushed them away.

“Honey, I think you’ve fallen in love with calling numbers. Why are we counting more and more often now?”

“One!”

“Two! Three! Four... Seven!”

“Wait a minute. Wait a minute!” Lin Wan grabbed Li Mu and took a closer look at his eyes, “What’s wrong with you? Are you asleep?”

“No, I’m doing fine.”

“Okay, that’s good!”

“One!”

“Two. Stop counting. Don’t call your number anymore. Something is wrong with my husband!”

The group gathered around and stared at him. The latter looked confused why all of them were staring at him.

Lin Wan held the hairpin and asked in a solemn tone, “Honey, what are you doing now?”

“Calling my number aloud!”

He could answer the question. It showed that he was alright!

“Then, who am I?”

He was correct without making any mistakes again!

She pointed at He Xiaoyu and asked, “Who is she then?”

“Xiaoyu!”

“What about her?”

“Zixing!”

“What about her and him? Who are they!”

“Ming’er, Mrs. Hong and Lin Kun!”

All the answers were correct perfectly. It seemed like Li Mu had no problem at all.

He Xiaoyu said, “Lin Wan, what do you think? It doesn’t look like Li Mu’s sleeping. He seems to be awake now!”

“No way. He must have fallen asleep!” Lin Wan insisted, “Honey, how many children have I given birth to?”

“You’ve not conceived a child. But you’re carrying one now. What’s wrong? Is there something wrong?” Li Mu clearly answered the questions.

Indeed, he seemed alright since he was in a clear mind and what he said was correct. Besides, his face did not look like he was sleeping.

Everyone looked at Lin Wan in confusion. Shen Ming’er could not help but say, “Big Sister, did you fall asleep again?”

“Stop talking nonsense. My finger still hurts. How can I fall asleep with it?” Lin Wan stared at Li Mu’s eyes, “Honey, are you alright?”

“I’m fine. One!”

Everyone was okay until Li Mu said one. After counting one, everyone seemed to be confused. Was he awake or sleeping? Everyone was not sure about it, though.

Shen Zixing said nervously, “Big Sister, it looks like he has fallen asleep!”

Lin Wan was not sure either. Mrs. Hong frowned and said, “I feel that Li Mu is in a semi-awake situation. We got to find another way to test him.”

“Do you have any other solutions?” Lin Wan asked hurriedly.

“We shouldn’t ask him things that he knows because he has the answers in his memory and he can answer us correctly. We have to ask some difficult questions to test him!”

He Xiaoyu suddenly exclaimed, “Let’s try out this!”

Everyone looked at her, and the latter said excitedly, “Let’s change the sequence we do the counting. We can count from the back. If Li Mu says the wrong number, it shows that he’s fallen asleep!”

Mrs. Hong pulled her sleeve and said in a low voice, “Silly girl, if we count from the back, Li Mu is still number one, isn’t he?”

Lin Wan smiled, “It’s a good idea. We can switch the people with different numbers now. From now onwards, I’ll be number one and my honey number seven since he’s the last one now. All of your numbers move forward correspondingly. What do you think of this idea?”

Everyone agreed to it. So Lin Wan said her number loudly, “Alright. I’ll start now. One!”

He Xiaoyu immediately shouted, “Two!”

“Four!” Mrs. Hong blurted out.

Everyone stared at her instantly, and she was so scared that she kept waving her hands.

“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’m so used to saying four. It’s a mistake. Please forgive me this time. I haven’t fallen asleep. Lin Wan, don’t stab me. It really hurts!”

Lin Wan hesitated. And He Xiaoyu advised, “Just in case she’s fallen asleep, why don’t you stab her once?”

“I beg you. Please don’t do it. Don’t stab me anymore. I promise I won’t call the wrong number anymore. Let’s do it one more time. I promise I won’t call the wrong number!”

“Alright. Let’s do it again. From now onwards, I’ll stab whoever calls the wrong number. I won’t hesitate in doing it!” Lin Wan warned them.

Everyone nodded and Li Mu nodded along with them. Then, Lin Wan shouted, “One!”

“Two! Three! Four! Five! Six! One!”

They did not need to test anymore as Li Mu had indeed fallen asleep.

Mrs. Hong smiled tenderly, “Li Mu’s amazing. He can sleep while thinking of what to talk to us. See, he’s even blinking his eyes!”

Li Mu smiled at her and said, “One!”

Every felt amused. And Lin Wan pursed her lips and said, “Could he be calling his number in his dream?”

Mrs. Hong waved and ordered Lin Kun, “Kun, you hold Li Mu. Lin Wan, I’ll do it!”

Though Lin Wan was a cruel person, she could not bear seeing her husband be in pain. After hearing that, she passed Mrs. Hong the hairpin at once.

Lin Kun got hold of Li Mu and Lin Wan pulled her left middle finger. Then, she signaled Mrs. Hong to do it. Meanwhile, Li Mu did not resist and obediently allowed them to do whatever they wanted with him.

He Xiaoyu said, “He must be sleeping now. We’re going to stab him and his face still looks so happy. It doesn’t match his personality at all!”

The sisters agreed with her and nodded when they listened to her.

Mrs. Hong took the hairpin and squinting to check where to aim at.

Lin Wan angrily said, “Do it fast! Stop aiming at him anymore. I’m going to break down mentally because of your action!”

Mrs. Hong gave an embarrassing smile and said, “Alright. Hold him tightly. I’ll stab him now!

Both of them nodded and Li Mu followed along. Then, Mrs. Hong screamed, “Ah!”

The hairpin stabbed his finger but did not pierce his skin at all!

Doing it was a different story from talking about it. Who could do it when one had to stab one’s master with the hairpin? Who could be so cruel as this man who could hurt a person unhesitatingly?

A few of them turned to Lin Wan and the latter complained, “Mrs. Hong, you should learn from my husband and be decisive during the critical time. Li Mu will fall into his dream deeper if we drag longer. And he’ll be in danger. Never mind. You hold his hand and let me do it!”

They switched their positions. Lin Wan pulled a lock of her hair from the back of her shoulder and bit it in her mouth. Then, she signaled Mrs. Hong to hold him tightly while she got ready to stab him.

“Ah!” a scream was heard. The group saw Mrs. Hong covering the back of her hand and looking at Lin Wan with a sad face.

“Lin Wan, you can’t close your eyes while doing it. You’ll stab the wrong person!”

The rest of them tried to hold their laughter. Then, Lin Wan blushed and murmured, “I’m sorry. I can’t bear seeing him in pain. Why not you do it?”

Mrs. Hong took the hairpin and asked Lin Wan to hold on to Li Mu’s finger. She gritted her teeth and stabbed him with great strength.

It was a deep stab. Immediately, blood started to ooze from Li Mu’s finger. The strange thing was that Li Mu did not react to it. He did not scream nor get angry but stared at his finger dazedly.

“Li Mu had lost himself in his dream. Let’s change to another finger!” Mrs. Hong frowned.

Immediately, Lin Wan took hold of another finger. This time, Mrs. Hong did not hesitate any longer. At once, she stabbed the hairpin into his finger cruelly.
