Chapter 311 The Pirate Ship

Shao Danzhou stood up and said to the others, "I'm going to go talk to them and tell them to find that singularity no matter what."

Before the words fell, a martial artist ran into the house in a panic and reported to the crowd, "Lords, a sailing ship has appeared."

Reimu subconsciously stood up, and he immediately associated it with the gang of thieves.

Could it be that the gang of thieves is also trapped here?

His uneasiness did not go unnoticed, for everyone was astonished, and Master Handler waved a hand, "Go on deck!"

The crowd gathered on deck and, guided by the sailor, peered into the distance with binoculars.

The sea was pitch black, and there seemed to be a sailboat about four or five hundred meters out.

"Turn on the lights!" Someone commanded.

Upon hearing the order, the Fung Le immediately canceled the light control and the lights were turned on.

The other three ships followed suit and lifted their light controls, and several searchlights shone on the schooner.

The crowd could see it clearly under the light.

It was a four-masted sailing ship, and Reimu was secretly a bit thankful that he was really worried that the other party was the gang of thieves.

The reason he was thinking this was not that he was beating up on the burglar, but that he was afraid that his suspicions were incorrect.

The reasoning was simple, if the thieves were also trapped in these waters, then his previous assumptions were, most likely, wrong.

If the thieves did disappear along with the Mysterious Island, then his guess was 80% accurate.

"Siren," Lin Wan whispered.

"What are you talking about?" Liamu asked.

"I'm talking about the name of the ship, it's the Siren!"

"Siren ship!" Li Mu muttered, "That's a personalized name, maybe it's still a ship with a story."

Little Reeko took a closer look with his binoculars.

It was quiet on that sailboat, and the side hulls, crawling with marine life, looked speckled everywhere.

The canvas on the masts had been lowered, and the ship, deprived of power, drifted with the waves in the blackness of the night.

There was no sign of human activity as far as the eye could see, much like the legendary ghost ships.

However, Li Mu didn't feel good, he always felt that there was a fury on that ship, one could even say that it was a fury.

What kind of ship would have such heavy bogeymen.

Li Mu stared closely at the ship, mulling this over and over in his mind.

Suddenly, he shouted, "Turn off the lights, turn off the lights!"

There was no need for him to explain anything, and many people had noticed the anomaly.

"Turn off the lights!"

"Turn off the lights!"

Figures began to appear on the sailboat in the distance, and the sails were raised rapidly.

Close to them on one side of the ship, an artillery porthole was opened and a cannon was rolled out.

"Holy shit!"

Little Brother Li shouted, carried Shen Xingyue with one hand, tugged Lin Wan with the other, greeted his own family and turned around to run.

The heads of the families, who were not ambiguous, scrambled into the cabin.

They all saw that it was a recent pirate ship, and those on it were murderous bandits.

If one is still foolishly standing on the deck, one is looking for death.

You don't want to underestimate the threat of those artillery pieces.

Although they had poor accuracy and average lethality, they were artillery after all, and if they were hit by an iron bullet, they would die as usual.

Unlike the woeful fleeing of the house masters, several captains were unperturbed by the shock and immediately passed down the order to turn the rudder and accelerate the disengagement!

The four huge ships powered up and drew a bend in the water, accelerating out of harm's way.

At the same time, the cannons on the schooner opened fire, and with the rumbling sound of cannon fire, a single shell, centered on the Fengle.

Cannonballs came flying through the air and hit the water with a high splash.

Fortunately, this kind of artillery that relied on visual aiming had poor accuracy and slow rate of fire, and the shells were not very destructive, so even if the Fengle was hit by a few shells, there was no great harm done to it.

As the distance between the two sides widened, the guns on the schooner ceased fire, and the pirates pulled up their sails and followed in hot pursuit.

Shao Danzhou cursed, "Grandma, there are four ships in total, why are they hitting us alone?"

Master Handler glanced at him and said casually, "We're the closest!"

A martial artist walked into the cabin and reported to Master General, "Master General, the hull has been hit by a total of five rounds, there are no casualties, and most of the equipment is intact, it's just..."

"Just what?"

"A shell took out the satellite dish."

Master Handler grunted and said nothing.

Li Mu asked, "Boy, as I recall, didn't you guys bring bazookas?"

Shao Danzhou immediately jumped up, swung his palm round and gave the martial artist a big ear sticker.

"Stupid, stupid, just fucking know how to take a beating, blow it up with a bazooka!"

The martial artist was busy running out.

The searchlights turned on again and locked on to the target from a distance.

Immediately afterward, several rockets trailed their trailing flames and raced towards the pirate ship.

There was a roar and the pirate ship was on fire.

Just one round of flak and the pirate ship went down.

How could this wooden sailing ship resist modern weapons.

After another round of flak, the pirate ship was ablaze with fire and explosions.

It looks like the gunpowder on the ship should have ignited and a big explosion occurred inside the hold.

The martial artists cheered in unison, pointing at the slowly sinking pirate ship and cursing!

Someone pointed to the surface and yelled, "Look, someone's in the water!"

The captain asked the Handyman for advice, "What do you think, Handyman, save it or not?"

Master Handle sneered, "What's the point of saving something that's dead and unrecognizable!"

Lin Wan was a bit intolerant and just wanted to plead for them.

Reimu waved a hand at her, as if speaking to her and to everyone else.

"They are some people who should have died a long time ago, because of the special environment here, that's why they have lived for so many more years, it's best for us not to touch them, and I'm afraid that rescuing them will cause a lot of troublesome things."

The Handler waved his hand, and the Captain, understanding, barked a few orders to his men.

Not long after, several martial artists came up to the deck with sniper rifles, and through the scopes, they dotted those who fell into the water one by one.

The crowd wasn't interested in watching the killing, and after a few casual pleasantries, they all went their separate ways back to the ship.

Li Mu and the others boarded the Kunan.

After saying goodbye to Mr. and Mrs. Cheng Kunan, the group returned to the cabin.

Bai Jing asked in a low voice, "Big brother, are those people the gang of thieves?"

"No!" Li Mu replied, "The pirate's schooner is a three-masted sail and the pirate ship is a four-masted sail, not the same ship."

"How did they survive for so long?"

"That's not a good question, maybe they're not human anymore, but something, and that's why I don't agree with saving them."

"You mean, zombies?"

"No. Recall if those people we met when we first broke through the barrier were real?"

Bai Jing was thoughtful.

Li Mu asked himself, "They are all real, their words and actions, their bodies, their minds, are not the slightest bit different from normal people."

"I see, not real, not fake, similar to a dream."

"You can interpret it as a dream, but there's still a bit of a difference, for example, if you hit him, he'll be in pain, if you call him names, he'll be angry, their human reactions are a bit more complex than a dream."

Shan Tingyan suddenly said, "Brother Mu, you mean to say that this place is an illusion formation."

Liamu nodded.

"The so-called strange space may be a naturally formed illusionary formation where time doesn't flow, or flows very slowly, so you can see people and things from hundreds of years ago."

Sister Hong asked from the sidelines, "Auntie, there's something I've never been able to figure out, can you help me explain?"

"Yes, go ahead!"

"Two questions, the first, why did the ancestors hide the treasure here, and what was their purpose in doing so?"

"Maybe it's for safety, I know that's a far-fetched reason, but I can't think of any other."

"Okay, let's put that question aside for now and I'll ask the second question."

"Uh-huh!"

"If the ancestors left a map, why didn't they write down the risks clearly, if they could have warned us a word, we wouldn't be stuck here."

Liamu couldn't answer.

Shen Xingyue laughed, "I think that I can answer that question."

"Oh, then please ask Miss Shen to help me out."

"I don't dare to explain, I can only give my insight."

Sister Hong nodded down, signaling her to continue.

Shen Xingyue explained, "The ancestor didn't forget to remind us, nor did he deliberately not tell us, but he didn't dare to write too clearly."

The crowd was puzzled, and Mrs. Red asked, "Why is this?"

"Sister Hong, after all, it's a few hundred years later, and the ancestor can't be sure, who will end up obtaining the treasure map, if it's taken away by a curmudgeon, the more he reminds of it, won't it be the cheaper it will be for the thieves."

There is some truth to it, and that should be considered a reason.

It might really be like what Shen Xingyue said, after the ancestors of the two families left the map, they didn't dare to mark too much on it so as not to cheapen the thieves.

Sister Red recognized this, but the reasoning didn't dispel all of her doubts, and she still had questions about it.

"Xing Yue, what you said has some truth to it, however, it's too much of a trap for the ancestors to do this, aren't they afraid that we won't be able to get out?"

"Therefore, they left behind two maps, and as long as we, the descendants, use our brains a little more, sooner or later we will be able to guess our ancestor's intention and follow the map's guidance to eventually escape the dangerous land."

That explanation kind of makes sense.

However, would it be so simple, Sister Hong stopped saying anything on the surface, but in her heart, she didn't quite recognize it.

"Sister Hong, what are you worried about?" Lin Wan asked.

"I'm worried that things won't be that simple, and I'm afraid that the ancestor has other intentions in arranging this, and it's not as simple as we think."

"So what do you think, what are they trying to do?"

"It's hard to say, I haven't figured it out yet."

Saying this, he said to the crowd, "Don't be paranoid, maybe I'm overthinking it, maybe the truth is like what Miss Shen said, it's not that complicated."

After Mrs. Hong finished speaking, she saw Li Mu frowning and her mind seemed to be elsewhere.

"Auntie, Auntie!" Sister Hong called out twice in a row.

Liamu didn't pick up on it, still mulling over his own business.

Lin Wan pushed him.

"What are you thinking?"

"What?"

Lin Wan laughed, "You're so delirious that Sister Hong didn't even hear you when she called you."

Li Mu absentmindedly asked, "Sister Hong, you called me?"

"What are you mulling over, so lost in thought?" Sister Hong asked.

Li Mu inexplicably popped up, "We seem to have overlooked a very important piece of information."
