Murong Xue received no response from Shangguan Mo and became more frustrated. As she invited Chu Yisen over first, she could not refuse him. Besides, they were friends. "OK." She went to the other side with him.
"Have you done gliding before?" asked Chu Yisen in a soft voice.
"No, this is my first time." Murong Xue shook her head and told the truth. Although Xiao Keli had taken her to places like bars in her last life, she had not had many dates with Fang Shihua. He had only compromised once to go shopping with her, which did not have a happy ending. In this life, she was busy starting up a business and protecting herself from villains, so she hardly had time to go out.
When Chu Yisen saw she finally began to keep her spirits up, he could not refrain from patting her head. "Relax. I'm here. You'll be fine."
Then Chu Yisen started to explain the glider's structure to her and asked her to do a warm-up with him. During this period, the two were joking and laughing, which created a really good atmosphere.
On the other side, Shangguan Mo had been watching Murong Xue. He had to clench his fists to stop himself from going forward to separate the two.
Seeing this, Bai Xueli was bitterly annoyed. A flicker of viciousness appeared in her eyes, but it changed into a sweet smile before Shangguan Mo noticed. "Mo, don't you teach me how to do this?"
After a long time, Shangguan Mo replied, "Of course. I teach you now."
However, when he was busy teaching Bai Xueli how to do gliding, Murong Xue took a look at him. It seemed that the joke on them was destined, so they always missed each other’s glance.
Murong Xue's face sank and the smile on the corners of her mouth also shrank. With her mind rushing incoherently and her heart twisting, she did not capture Chu Yisen's strange look, which demonstrated the entanglement of deep care and love.
Usually, tourists would land at the Dark Sea's beautiful beach. At this moment, many on the cliff were starting their journey of gliding.
"We're ready to go now." Chu Yisen reminded.
Already sitting in the glider, Murong Xue became a little nervous when she looked at the sky. But she answered plainly, "Oh, okay."
Chu Yisen turned to smile at her, "Don't worry. I've got everything covered. Relax."
Murong Xue blushed as red as a rose with shame, "I'm not nervous."
"Ha-ha," Chu Yisen laughed, "Sit tight and get ready to go."
Taking off from the cliff, the glider soared high in the sky. Seeing birds passing by, Murong Xue felt relieved as if the birds had carried away the weight on her. With the floating clouds next to her and the whistling wind, she gradually relaxed and gained refreshment. Murong Xue exclaimed happily, "What a beautiful sky."
Looking forward, Chu Yisen was wearing blue sunglasses that covered his beautiful eyes and he turned up the corners of his mouth, which showed that he was in a good mood now. "If you like it, we could come again some other time."
They flew to the west for about half an hour and then they saw a blue huge sea. Along the seaside, they continued to fly to the south far above the sea. In the sunlight, the boundless ocean was like glowing sapphires, giving out colorfully gorgeous lights.
"Yisen, this is so beautiful." "Ha-ha, when we land, I'll show you a more beautiful place."
"Yisen, shouldn't we land on the beach? Why are we still flying above the sea?" asked Murong Xue in surprise.
"You'll know soon."
Gradually, the glider began to descend and slow down. Seeing through the window, Murong Xue was amazed that there was an island, "An island in the sea?"
As they got closer, she finally had the whole picture of the island. It was large, in which green trees were layered with a white villa sitting in between. The golden sandy beach bordering the blue water made it a really good holiday resort.
Landing the glider on an artificial platform, Chu Yisen took off his sunglasses and looked at Murong Xue, "We're here."
"Where are we now?" asked she curiously.
Murong Xue got out of the glider and stepped on the beautiful golden beach. The beach was very flat and there was no footprint left by precedent explorers. The tide was rising and ebbing, again and again, leaving dark lines behind.
The waves lapped the beach with a crashing sound. A few seagulls hovered in the air, and a cruise ship docked not far to the south of the beach. Murong Xue took off her shoes and carried them in her hands, feeling the rough sand under her feet.
Murong Xue was able to relax at last and this place totally captivated her. "Yisen, it's so beautiful here, but why can't I see anyone else here?" She turned around and asked.
Chu Yisen walked up to her very slowly and stopped by her side. "This island is mine." There was a faint melancholy in his tone, which entangled with a hint of regret.
"What's wrong, Yisen? We're in a beautiful place, but you are not in a good mood." Murong Xue asked carefully.
"When I was little, my mother always said she would take me to a quiet place someday, where we could be alone with each other with blue sky, white clouds, and sea, and where we could get rid of hiding. She pictured her most beautiful dream repeatedly and we relied on it to survive the hard days. But life showed no mercy for her. She died. It had been many years when I was finally able to find her dreamland and bought it. But she was gone forever."
Chu Yisen was choked with sobs. He had forgotten his mother's face, and what he only remembered was the dazzling glow in her eyes and her tender, caring smile at him.
"Yisen..." Murong Xue wanted to comfort him, but she could not think of anything.
Chu Yisen gave a thin smile, "What were you thinking? I'm fine. It's a pity that no one knows such a place, so I brought you here."
She smiled back at him because she knew he did not need anyone's comfort now. Murong Xue opened her arms and stepped forward to enjoy the breeze and the waves' mischievous flips over her feet.
The cool water calmed her down and relieved her of anxiety. Murong Xue began to savor the rare carefree time. Flying past her, two seagulls whimpered and flew low above the sea, graceful and peaceful.
Murong Xue was fascinated by the scenery, so she ignored Chu Yisen behind her, who was staring at her without a blink.
In her last life, she had dreamed about this countless times. At that time, what she had wanted was that she could spend her life with a committed man who could take a walk by the sea holding her hands casually yet lovingly and that they could sit on the beach together at night to appreciate the bright stars in the sky.
She had thought that Fang Shihua would be that one for her, but it had turned out to be wrong and heartbreaking. Even in this life, she always felt there was a void in her heart.
Now she understood the dream of Chu Yisen's mother. When one was heartbroken, she would find a place to heal her wound alone, hiding from others.
After some time, Chu Yisen called out to her. She turned around, but the emotions on her face did not fade instantly, with her hair dancing in the wind. At that moment, Chu Yisen felt his heart missed a beat.
"Come on. Let me show you the villa on the island." Chu Yisen suggested. Seeing her out-of-body look, Chu Yisen felt that she was far away from him and isolated herself from everything, even if she was just standing there. The sun was still strong at this time and Murong Xue's face was sunburned red.
"Okay." Murong Xue walked towards him, raising a faint smile.
High above the island, there was a three-story white villa whose appearance was of European style, which was in unusual harmony with the blue sea. Along the route, a lot of verdant landscape plants were accompanied by blooming colorful flowers. The path was paved with bluestones and some weeds were growing by the roadside, which added the beauty of nature to the scene.
Appreciating the scenery, the two did not talk much along the route. After entering the villa, Chu Yisen revealed each and every detail of it to Murong Xue, which contained everything his mother had longed for.
While Murong Xue was listening to him, tears began to fill her eyes. In her last life, she caused her parents' death and she owed them the most. Now she felt Chu Yisen's love for his mother, which was embodied in everything of the villa. Compare with him, Murong Xue thought she could have done much better like him.
Seeing her tears, Chu Yisen asked in a panic, "What's wrong, Xue? Did I say anything wrong? I'm sorry. It's my fault..."
Murong Xue shook her head and was choked with sobs. It was more difficult for someone to hold back her tears when someone tried to offer comfort. Murong Xue was crying even harder than before.
"Xue, don't cry. Be good. Don't cry." Chu Yisen felt a throbbing pain and went up to hold her in his arms. He wanted to know who could make her cry like this.
Lying against his chest, Murong Xue sobbed quietly.
At the same time, Shangguan Mo and Bai Xueli had already landed on the beach of the Dark Sea. The moment he landed the glider, Shangguan Mo began to look around and search for Murong Xue, but he did not see her anywhere. "D*mn it. Where did they go?" Shangguan Mo thought to himself.
Bai Xueli went forward and pulled his sleeve, "Mo, what's wrong?"
"I'm looking for Xue. She is not here." Shangguan Mo had wanted to go after Chu Yisen when he left, but Bai Xueli kept saying that she was very scared, which had delayed their take-off. When Shangguan Mo started the glider, Chu Yisen and Murong Xue had disappeared from the sky.
"Mo, since we are here, we should enjoy ourselves. Xue is with her friend now. She will be fine. They are really close, which even makes me jealous." Bai Xueli said with a light smile.
But it was exactly Chu Yisen who caused his worries. As a man, Shangguan Mo understood what Chu Yisen's eyes were saying when he looked at Murong Xue, and he knew Chu Yisen had feelings for her. With a darkened face, Shangguan Mo took out his cellphone and called Murong Xue, but her number was disconnected.
He strode forward to search in the crowd, and Bai Xueli followed him in small yet quick steps. She did not know he would be so worried about Murong Xue, which annoyed her.
After half an hour, Shangguan Mo almost looked all over the beach, but he still did not see them. Now he wondered if they got into trouble, which made him more nervous and anxious. He made a call and ordered, "Find out where Murong Xue is. Now!"
He hung up after saying that and continued his searching immediately. He thought he might have left out some places.
Following behind him, Bai Xueli was both angry and miserable because her feet were blistered. She went forward to catch him and begged, "Mo, my feet hurt."
It was until now that Shangguan Mo noticed Bai Xue behind him. Seeing her frown because of the painful feet, he spoke in an apologetic voice, "Xueli, you go and take a break in the rest area. Silly girl, you don't have to follow me."
"Mo, what's the point of me sitting there alone? Let me help you. I'm fine." She bit her lips and put on a worried face.
"No, you go over there and have a rest."
"I don't want to do that, Mo. We've searched the whole beach, so they should be somewhere else. I've heard that they would go to another place alone before. Maybe they don't like the crowded beach, so they find a quiet place to kill time. You must be tired as well. Let's take a break first." Bai Xueli had not heard such things from Chu Yisen or Murong Xue, but she could make up whatever she liked since the two were not there now.
