The man raised a smile that was unexpectedly nice to them, which helped leave an impression of an innocent boy on them. "There are many famous snacks, but some restaurants are quite hard to find without someone familiar with them as they are well-established brands."
Mo Aili became worried about her snack after hearing it, "You mean we can't find them? Then what's the use of saying so much?"
Murong Xue felt very embarrassed although she knew Mo Aili just worried about food instead of trying to hurt the man. She appreciated Mo Aili's frankness, but she could not allow her to be so impolite or blame the nice man. "Sorry. She didn't mean it. Hope you don't mind." Murong Xue apologized to the man.
The man, who was not angry at all, answered with an understanding smile, "I can be your tour guide if you're okay with it. I know this place quite well and I don't have any classes today."
"Okay, take us to the snacks." Mo Aili cheered.
Murong Xue was speechless now. She stood between Mo Aili and the man to protect her, who could be fooled by others for food, "It's not a good idea. We just met each other..." Murong Xue felt that the man was not a bad guy, but she had to be careful and cautious. Although Mo Aili’s special background was a secret, what if someone found out about Mo Aili's background and tried to approach her?
The man shook his head and panicked, "Well, don't get me wrong. I only want to help you. Look, this is my identity card." He even took out his ID and showed it to Murong Xue.
Murong Xue was amused. From what the man just did, she would give him a Best Actor award if he was really up to something. But she still took over his ID and checked it. The 23-year-old man was named Liu Huali, just an ordinary person living nearby the Third Ring of the capital.
Murong Xue stopped Mo Aili from rushing forward again and gave the card back to him, "We're only strangers. Why do you want to help us?"
Liu Huali was a little embarrassed by her words, "Well, I want to make friends with you two. Please forgive me if you feel uncomfortable. I think we probably won't see each other anymore, so…"
Murong Xue was surprised as this was the first time that someone had wanted to be friends with her. But she became cautious again when she recalled the previous reports about her, "Do you know who I am?" She wondered whether he had seen her photos in those reports.
Liu Huali was at loss, "No, but I want to. Well, you look familiar though. Have I ever met you before?" He began to ponder over it.
Murong Xue was finally reassured and believed that it might be a coincidence. She interrupted him, "I'm afraid not. We've only arrived here recently, and this is the first time for us to go out since then. By the way, I'm Xue, and she is Aili. Please be our tour guide today, and I hope it won't be very troublesome for you." The reason why she agreed now was that the Space would protect them if anything bad happened and she was unwilling to let Mo Aili down, who was very looking forward to it.
Mo Aili was too happy about the delicious snacks to worry about any other things.
Liu Huali raised a bright smile, "My pleasure. Very glad to meet you guys. The bus is here. Shall we go now?" He pointed to the bus coming close.
So Murong Xue and Mo Aili got on the bus after Liu Huali and they saw he put some changes into a box. Murong Xue took her purse out and decided to put a one-hundred note into the slit when she found no changes in the purse.
Liu Huali saw it. he was startled, so he grabbed her hand to stop her, "You don't have to pay so much."
Murong Xue answered innocently, "But I have no changes." Then she looked at his hand that was holding her wrist.
Sensing that, Liu Huali withdrew his hand instantly and apologized, "Sorry, I didn't mean to. I have changes. Let me pay for you two." His face became slightly red, as well as the tips of his ears.
"Okay then, we'll pay you back later." Murong Xue put her note away and walked to the seats with Mo Aili, who had also taken a one-hundred note out just now.
They took a look around and saw a good number of people were seated by twos and threes, so they walked to the rearmost seats and sat down next to each other. Then Liu Huali walked over and was seated opposite to them across the aisle.
The bus's smell, although not stinky, was coldly weird. Murong Xue tried to put up with it because she wanted to fit in. She now knew what it felt like to take a bus. She could feel the cold seat made of steel and the shake of the bus while driving. Fortunately, it was autumn, so she could relax with the cool breeze after opening the window.
Mo Aili's recklessness remained unchanged and she now leaned her head on Murong Xue's shoulder to catch some sleep. Murong Xue let her be as she knew Mo Aili was tired, who had come to her right after taking off the plane. She decided to wake up her when they arrived at the destination.
Murong Xue then turned her head and smiled at Liu Huali, "Thank you, Huali. You're a senior student to me."
Liu Huali was amazed, "Senior?"
"Yeah, next week I'll be one of the freshmen of your university."
"What a coincidence! But I didn't expect you to be a college student since you looked so young." Liu Huali said in surprise. He was right. Murong Xue looked like a 19-year-old girl because of her appearance although she was quite sophisticated.
"Ha-ha, not really. I just had my 20th birthday. Well, what's your major?"
"I major in Traditional Chinese Medicine. How about you?" Liu Huali was curious, too.
Murong Xue raised a smile, "What a coincidence! Me, too. Then could you tell me something about our university?"
"Sure."
"..."
The more they talked about, the more agreeable they found each other. Having the same major, they had a lot to talk about. Soon Liu Huali was shocked by how much Murong Xue had already known about their major although she had not started university yet. He felt he benefited a lot from their conversation and hence he thought highly of this girl now.
After some time, the bus stopped at their destination. Murong Xue woke up the sleepy Mo Aili, and the three got out of the bus.
Murong Xue looked around and found it was an ancient street where the buildings were age-old and old-fashioned. The street was filled with both passengers and tourists who were taking photos.
Two lines of kapok were planted along the road and the petals scattered around the street, adding a smell of fragrance to the air. Murong Xue felt refreshed at once and liked this place. She had never known such idyllic places in the capital before. She had thought the capital was filled with massive buildings similar to her villa, which would make the capital light at night.
"Isn't it beautiful? This ancient street is very famous in the capital. There is also a snack street with many food stalls where food is both delicious and inexpensive." Liu Huali introduced with a thin smile.
The moment Mo Aili heard food, she was cheered up and wide awake, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go." She took Murong Xue's hand and rushed over to the snack street.
Murong Xue raised a helpless smile at Liu Huali, "Huali, hurry up. Aili hasn't eaten anything today, so she might be starving." She was lying to him. Mo Aili had had three bowls of rice and eaten most of the dishes with some fruits afterward at her house.
Liu Huali was amused. He enjoyed his stay with the two as he appreciated their natural manner and informality, and he was very happy that he had asked them first. He wanted nothing more although they were both very beautiful girls. Liu Huali was extrovert and outgoing and loved making friends, so he had a lot of companions.
The three walked to the snack street as fast as running. Mo Aili got very excited and picked one restaurant, and the other two followed her in. The setting inside was vintage and wooden, which looked neat although old.
Mo Aili ordered dozens of dishes first and then asked the other two, "Sit down! Why are you still standing there?"
"Oh, I thought you could only see the food now so that you forgot us." Murong Xue teased her.
Mo Aili became a little shy, "How come? I saved you the trouble of ordering."
"You just want to eat those yourself."
"Don't say that. I'm so embarrassed."
"Fine. No kidding. You missed something when you were asleep on the bus. Huali and I go to the same university and both of us major in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Oh, Huali, Aili goes to Alice College."
"Alice College? That elite school?" Liu Huali was startled. He had thought they all had similar family backgrounds like some well-off family when he saw they wanted to take the bus in normal casual sportswear without any accessories. Now he found that he was wrong about them.
