Murong Xue said severely, "Cut it out, okay? I'm serious."
Prince Yan felt speechless because he really meant what he said. In his eyes, Mu Tian was the one who was joking all the time.
Murong Xue asked, "So what's the size of the Infinite Forest? My friend may be wounded. How can I find him as soon as possible?"
But for having lost her spiritual power, she would have found Feng Ziling much faster.
"Why should I help you?" Prince Yan raised a smile.
"Because you said you would help me?" Murong Xue raised her voice.
"It's true, but now I want to change my mind. What can I get if I help you find your friend?" Prince Yan found Mu Tian very strange, so he had to stay alert. He pitied Mu Tian at the first sight because Mu Tian's purple hair reminded him of what had happened to him and it thus made him feel sorry for himself.
Murong Xue changed her face when she heard what Prince Yan said. She was aware that there was no such thing as a free lunch, but she was not afraid of danger with the Space. She just wondered why Feng Ziling and she had been separated since they were holding hands and if he also lost his spiritual power. "What do you want?"
Prince Yan took a look at him. "Tell me who you are, where you come from, and why you have purple hair."
Murong Xue pointed to the sky and answered, "Mu Tian. I come from the sky, and my hair is natural. Why? Isn't it good? I think it's awesome."
"The sky? Are you kidding me? You don't want to find your friend now?" Prince Yan's face darkened.
Murong Xue threw up her hands and blinked her big eyes. "Look at my honest face. I'm not lying. I swear that I fell from the sky."
Prince Yan studied her face. "Fine. Let's leave it. So your people all have purple hair?"
"Well, people have various hair colors there. What is so weird about it? I can color people's hair." Murong Xue was talking about modern dyeing.
"So you don't find my eyes strange?" If Murong Xue looked closely, she could catch the tenseness in his eyes.
Murong Xue looked at him and laughed. "You want to show off your beautiful eyes? Okay. I admit that your eyes are prettier than my hair, just like purple gems."
Prince Yan paused for a moment before he asked, "You think my eyes are beautiful?"
Murong Xue nodded. "Yes, they are."
Prince Yan touched his eyes and raised a heartfelt smile for the first time. His smile was as warm as the sunshine in winter, which could melt the snow.
Murong Xue said honestly, "You got a nice smile!"
Hearing that, Prince Yan stopped smiling. "Do you think you can trick me into helping you by saying nice things?"
Murong Xue rolled her eyes. "Stop the carriage. I'm leaving." Standing up, she would rather look for Feng Ziling all by herself than ask this man for a favor. Besides, she felt much better now.
Prince Yan stopped her and said, "If you get out of the carriage, people will regard you as a monster the moment they see you."
Murong Xue threw off his hand and answered, "It's still better than deserting my friend to survive alone."
Prince Yan said contemptuously, "You are so grumpy. Sit down and wait for news. I've already asked them to look for your friend. Besides, you can't finish searching the Infinite Forest within a month all by yourself."
Murong Xue turned her head and asked, "Seriously?"
Prince Yan nodded. "Don't worry. The news will come in the evening. Be patient and wait."
"What do you want? I feel disturbed when you are being so nice to me." Murong Xue met Prince Yan for the first time today, so she wondered why he helped her. Since she was disguised as a man now, she believed that the answer was not her beauty.
Prince Yan squinted at Murong Xue and replied sourly, "Oh, of course, I want something from you."
Murong Xue responded with a knowing face, "I knew it. Tell me what you want me to do for you."
Prince Yan eyed her up and down. "What can you do? You can barely split the firewood or sweep the floor now. You are seriously wounded. We'll discuss it when you fully recover." Then he looked away and picked up a book to read.
Murong Xue got pissed off and even laughed as she found she was unable to clean the color in his eyes.
However, thinking of Feng Ziling, she managed to calm down and swallow all the wild words she wanted to say. She sat in a corner and raised the curtain to appreciate the view outside, but all she could see were only trees as they were still in the forest.
Before she knew it, it was afternoon.
"Stop and have a rest now," Prince Yan ordered the guards outside.
"Yes."
The carriage stopped slowly. Some guards went hunting while others stayed.
"Where are you going?" asked Murong Xue.
"The imperial city," Prince Yan looked at her and said. "Let's go out and eat something before we go on again."
Murong Xue stretched herself. She was not used to becoming someone without any spiritual power who felt tired from traveling in the carriage.
But the unpolluted air that had a grassy smell made her feel good. Murong Xue walked to the river and washed the wound on her arm with the water before she returned to the carriage.
The guards made their hostility clear to her. Murong Xue thus found her hair very troublesome and decided to dye her hair black someday later.
The guards who went hunting were very efficient. They brought back a wild boar and several rabbits very soon and made a fire.
Meanwhile, Prince Yan sat down on the grass and read his book. Murong Xue walked over and glanced at the book, which made her feel bored. Then she looked away to appreciate the grass and flowers.
Prince Yan asked without looking up, "Can't you read?"
"Me? No kidding. I'm a very learned man who knows lots of things. Of course, I can read." Murong Xue was confident that her modern knowledge was far more advanced than what her ancient counterpart knew.
"Huh, brag and boast!" Prince Yan did not believe a word she said. In his eyes, no scholar would behave like her.
"You can believe it or not." Murong Xue was not in the mood for the argument. She had no spiritual power now, so she was unable to go to the Shenlong Continent, either.
The longer she thought about the whole thing, the stranger she found it. She remembered that the bottom of the cliff was thick with the devil's qi, but she jumped off the cliff and arrived in an unknown ancient world where there was no devil's qi. More importantly, this world's spiritual qi was very thin. Prince Yan and his guards were all ordinary people. Murong Xue wondered if there was any portal to this world and what had happened to Long Ming and the others from the Fengyun Continent.
"You seem to have a lot on your mind. What are you thinking?" Prince Yan observed her with watchful eyes all the time.
Murong Xue answered, "Nothing. Is there any cultivator in this world?"
Prince Yan asked in doubt, "What does cultivator mean?"
"Nothing." Now she was sure that there was no cultivator here, which made the situation very difficult for her.
"Explain it to me," asked Prince Yan with an unhappy face.
Murong Xue chuckled, "You won't understand."
"You haven't tried yet. Try me."
"Fine. A cultivator is someone who is trying to become a God and is able to travel between different worlds. Understand?"
Prince Yan hit Murong Xue on the head with his book. "Are you crazy? Becoming a God is a daydream."
"Ouch! You wanted me to explain it. I said you wouldn't understand."
"Hum, come over and eat something." Prince Yan's disdain in his eyes was perfectly clear.
Murong Xue would not even bother to argue with him. If she had not seen it in person, she would not have believed it. It was pointless to convince someone from a different world.
The guards cut the roasted meat into pieces and put the meat on a plate before they served it to the prince.
"Eat." Since they were outside in the forest, Prince Yan was not concerned about manners and ate with his hands.
Murong Xue did the same. She was hungry, but she could not take food from the Space to eat while others were around her. The roasted meat did not taste good although it was not bland. Regardless, she could not express her dislike since she was having a free meal.
But Prince Yan caught the subtle cue from her expression. He asked with a sarcastic look, "Does it not taste good?"
Murong Xue paused for a moment before she answered, "No, but I don't mean to judge it."
Prince Yan sneered, "You spoiled rich boy."
Murong Xue raised an eyebrow and answered, "I really am."
Prince Yan froze for a moment and nearly choked. "Huh, you can be sharp-tongued."
"Not as good as you, old master," replied Murong Xue, chewing the meat.
Prince Yan heard what she said and spat out the water he had drunk.
The word "old master" echoed in his mind.
However, no matter how hard he glared at her, she was not bothered and just enjoyed the roasted meat.
Prince Yan became annoyed and put the plate in front of him.
Murong Xue paused. "What are you doing? I'm not finished with it."
"You come from the sky and you can become a God, so I guess you don't need any food." Prince Yan ate up all the meat on the plate.
Murong Xue looked at the childish prince with a helpless face. She did not care to argue with him. Rising up, she was going to take a walk.
"Where are you going?" asked Prince Yan. He wondered if she was petty enough to run away in anger because of the meat.
"Going for a walk." Murong Xue walked into the woods before he could answer her.
Looking at Mu Tian's back, Prince Yan was thinking about something.
When Mu Tian strode out of sight, one guard came forward and got down on one knee in front of Prince Yan. "Should I send someone to follow him, my Lord?"
Prince Yan waved his hand. "No, he will come back." When he was checking Mu Tian's pulse earlier today, he found that Mu Tian had not learned any martial arts. Apart from his purple hair and whimsical words, Mu Tian seemed to be very ordinary.
The guard asked, "But my Lord, this man is not normal. Why don't we kill him? He will be troublesome if he stays with you."
