"Okay." Murong Xue nodded.

Wang Qing feinted a calm face and followed.

But the guard reached out to stop him. "The governor only wants to see this lady."

Wang Qing's face darkened and his hand closed on the knife handle. His eyes filled with anger, he was already thinking about how he should wipe out the governor's entire official residence one day.

Murong Xue said to Wang Qing, "Then I go by myself. You go back first."

"Ugh." Wang Qing put down his hand and walked to the other side, implying his consent. He was not afraid that Mu Tian would run away now since Feng Ziling was in his hands.

Murong Xue followed the guard inside.

The governor's official residence was pretty much the same as what she had imagined, brimming with modern elements: a comfortable continental garden, and brick and cement dwellings different from the wooden houses outside. The houses here looked quite new.

Behind the garden was a big outdoor swimming pool.

The guard said, "Here we are."

Murong Xue looked around to search for the governor when a man suddenly rose up from the pool.

"Our governor is swimming. Please sit down and wait." The guard took a look at Murong Xue and thought to himself, "Why our governor wants to see her here like this?" He had asked the governor if he should take the guest to the meeting room, but the governor wanted to meet by the pool.

The guard was also surprised by Murong Xue, who remained calm when seeing a naked man. Neither ladies from good families nor girls in brothels would behave like this.

The guard also found the governor a strange man, who liked to swim every day.

Murong Xue nodded and sat down in the lounge chair under the sun umbrella by the pool. She found that the governor seemed to be good at enjoying life.

She saw the governor's face and he seemed to be a stranger.

Lin Yang, the governor of Black City, swam several more laps before he disembarked. Then the guards brought him a towel and a bathrobe. He tossed his wet hair and dried his hair with the towel before he put on the slack robe. Then he walked up to Murong Xue.

Lin Yang was checking her out while Murong Xue was looking at him. She had a bad image now as most of her face was wrapped up because of the wound.

Lin Yang asked, "You wrote the letter?"

Murong Xue nodded. "Yes. You also come from that place?" She implied it because there were many guards around them.

Lin Yang waved his hand. "Leave us."

All the guards left at once.

"So, do you want something from me?" Lin Yang had been looking for people from the future, but there was no result. Therefore, he believed that he was the only one who came to this world.

Taking advantage of his modern knowledge, Lin Yang managed to earn a place in this gray area, so he was unwilling to see someone else who was able to do what he was doing here.

But he did not expect the owner of the letter to be a woman.

Before he saw her, he was thinking if he should kill the one who wrote the letter to assure that he could rule the world.

"Yes, I do." Murong Xue had been thinking about how she should start the conversation.

Although she and the governor both came from the future, she could see that he had no empathy for her. What was worse, he got hostile.

Lin Yang sat down next to Murong Xue and crossed his legs. "Say it."

Murong Xue asked directly, "Do you want to take over this world?"

Lin Yang's eyes shone cold. "What? You are also interested in it?" He was thinking about how he should deal with this woman all the time.

Murong Xue answered flatly, "Don't worry. I have no interest in taking over this world, and I won't help anyone achieve it, either. I just want to ask you for a favor."

"So you're saying you can beat me if you want? Let me guess. You just came to this world no long ago." Lin Yang's men were keeping an eye on strange people and he got no report yet.

"Don't you want to know what I'm asking for?"

"I don't need to know. Besides, you are bold enough to come here alone. Do you think I'll let you go?" Lin Yang raised a cold smile.

Murong Xue now realized that this man was difficult to deal with. She saw how well this city was running, so she thought that the governor must be a good leader and decided to meet him. Otherwise, she would never have come here and exposed herself.

"But I don't think you can trap me." Murong Xue was very indifferent to his threat.

Lin Yang pulled out a gun from his robe and aimed at her between the eyes. "I can make you stay here forever now."

Murong Xue laughed and vanished.

Eyes wide open, Lin Yang look around to search for her. After a long time, he cried out in anger, "Come out."

Murong Xue could see Lin Yang's reaction from the Space, but she was not going to confront him before she found something to defend herself. With no spiritual power outside, she felt insecure.

She unwrapped her face and laughed at the horrifying image she saw. She thought of Huangfu Yi, who would never allow her to hurt herself. If he had been here, he would have been mad at her about hurting herself. She missed him and she wanted to see him right here, right now.

She took a healing pill and gathered her spiritual power to heal the wound on her face. She would not sacrifice her face easily. After all, she wanted to be perfect in front of Huangfu Yi.

The wound was being healed at a rapid speed and a scab was gradually formed.

Murong Xue took back her spiritual power and walked into the pagoda, only to see Xiaobai bending over.

She reached out to grab and lift Xiaobai. "Xiaobai, what are you doing?"

Xiaobai's face was red and sweaty, which made Murong Xue change her face. "What's wrong, Xiaobai?"

Xiaobai kept sweating, and its white fur was wet and entangled. It was clear that Xiaobai was in pain. Murong Xue wanted to check on it with her spiritual power, only to find the spiritual power in Xiaobai's body raging and rushing out.

Xiaobai was hurt badly inside. What was worse, in its pubic region, Murong Xue saw weird runes that were sending out black gas, but she had no idea what these runes were.

She evaded the storming spiritual power in Xiaobai's body and tried to check the runes. The moment she touched the runes, a strong force of spiritual power came at her.

"Ah!"

Murong Xue was pushed back a few meters away, spitting blood. Despite her injuries and the pain, she ran over to Xiaobai. Clearly, something had gone wrong, and Xiaobai looked awful.

She called its name anxiously. "Xiaobai, Xiaobai..."

However, Xiaobai seemed to have passed out and did not respond to her, blood oozing from its body. Worried, Murong Xue took out the best healing pills and forced Xiaobai to open its mouth and swallow down the pills.

A few minutes passed. Instead of getting better, Xiaobai was getting worse.

Murong Xue's soul was filled with a throbbing pain, which she knew was what Xiaobai was suffering.

All of a sudden, Murong Xue thought of something and ran out to the grass outside the pagoda, looking for the nameless fascinating seven-color flower.

She had seen this kind of flower once on the drawing on the stone wall in which a spirit beast was eating its petal.

She did not know what the flower could do, but she had to have a try now. If not, Xiaobai was going to explode and die soon. Murong Xue only picked one petal of the flower and returned to Xiaobai.

Not wanting to waste any time, she stuffed the petal in Xiaobai's mouth.

Changes happened to Xiaobai at once and the raging spiritual power inside its body seemed to quiet down.

Murong Xue felt relieved that the petal actually worked and she was ready to pick one more when Xiaobai started to give out golden light centering on it.

Murong Xue and Xiaobai were separated by an invisible shield.

Murong Xue didn't dare to blink, fearing that something would happen to Xiaobai.

The golden light hurt her eyes, so she did not know what was going on inside the shield. She could not go near the shield, either. But the throbbing pain deep inside her disappeared, which told her that Xiaobai was not in danger.

Time went by and the golden light became dim.

Murong Xue finally could see what was going on, but what she saw astounded her. She blushed and turned back immediately. "Who are you?"

In the center of the golden-light circle was a naked man. His gold eyes were slightly open and looked blank. The next second, the man stood up and kept jumping excitedly. "Ha-ha, I am back."

Seeing Murong Xue, he rushed forward to hug her, lifted her up with his strong hands, and twirled her around. "Ha-ha, I'm back."

"Put me down. Put me down." Murong Xue felt dizzy and she was too scared to open her eyes as she knew she would see something unspeakable.

Ravished with joy, Xiaobai did not put her down until a long time passed. Confused, he asked, "Why are your eyes closed?"
