Chapter 84 Finally, She Was Dead Inside

After two years, King Yun gradually arranged his men into the Congress. He regained control of the entire Kingdom of Yun and sent his mother, the Empress Dowager, to a nunnery. He killed the Prime Minister and other men who ever had a relationship with his mother. King Yun’s brothers and sisters dared not make trouble again. He finally became the real king of the Kingdom of Yun. He was now the powerful King Yun.

A carriage taking his mother left Huaiyang City slowly. The young king stood on the gate tower, yelling like a madman.

“Ah... Ah... Ah...” His voice spread far away. King Yun laughed. He had been suppressed these years. He had been bearing patiently and acting these years discreetly. It wasn’t until this moment that he felt the air was fresh. Finally, he was truly free. No one could threaten and control him in this kingdom. He was not anxious to deal with his brothers and sisters who had framed him. When his kingdom was stable and everything was settled, he would let them pay for what they did.

Walking down the gate tower, King Yun had become a real strong man. However, he didn’t go to pick up Meng Xi immediately even though she was the woman he had been thinking day and night. The first place he went was the mansion of the Mengs. He moved the phoenix tree from the courtyard to the royal palace. He knew Meng Xi’s personality was not suitable for the sophisticated life in the royal palace. Therefore, he deliberately chose a remote yard for her and planted the phoenix tree himself. He asked people to build a simple but elegant palace named Xiyan Palace.

Xiyan Palace was the yard King Yun specially built for Meng Xi at that time. He hated everyone, but he loved Meng Xi. He wanted to live a normal married life with her like a couple in this complicated royal palace. Unfortunately, this was just a beautiful dream that would never come true. However, years later, this place carried Meng Xi’s daughter, Shui Yinzhu’s many happy memories and became unforgettable for her in her life.

King Yun saw his beloved woman again when he led an army to the mansion of the Jins. The Jins panicked at that moment. They didn’t know why they were surrounded by the royal army after they woke up.

Madam Jin, who had known everything, ran to King Yun. She was silly, but she was not a fool. Immediately, she knew it was not merely for taking Meng Xi away. However, she was stopped by the soldiers. Madam Jin could only ask King Yun loudly, who was standing in front of the crowd, “Your Majesty, you told me you only want that woman. Why are you surrounding our mansion?”

“Why? Madam Jin, you really have no idea about it? Do you think I will spare people who have the nerve to covet my consort?” The young king glanced at Madam Jin. This woman had helped him keep an eye on Meng Xi and provided him with a lot of intelligence about the Jins, which gave him excuses and evidence to destroy the Jins. Out of good intention, he explained to her so that she knew why she was killed.

“But you had promised me that my husband and I will be together.”

“I didn’t break my words! If you guys go to the underworld together, no one will disturb you in the future.”

“Y-Your Majesty...you are so cruel, like an animal.”

“I am the chosen one, the king of the Kingdom of Yun. Thanks to you, Madam Jin, I can finally get rid of the Jins.” King Yun was no longer patient with Madam Jin. He ignored her words. Now King Yun finally saw his most beloved woman. He ran to her and held Meng Xi, who was brought here by soldiers. “Xier, my Xier, I finally see you again.”

Now Meng Xi was more mature than a few years ago. Clearly, she had lived a comfortable life these years. She wore a light blue dress and looked elegant. She was no longer like an unrestrained boyish girl as she was. She now looked like a real mature and attractive woman. However, Meng Xi was overwhelmed by deep hatred when she saw the person she didn’t want to see again. She tried to push King Yun away desperately, but she failed. “Why? Why? You just can’t let me go... Why do you always want to destroy everything that I have?”

“Xier, I don’t. I love you and want to be with you!”

“But I don’t love you anymore. Please, let me go. Let me go.”

“You don’t love me anymore? Is it because of him?” King Yun said, pointing at Young Master Jin, who was still calling her name while he was tied up by the soldiers.

“What do you want to do to him? Please let him go. Leaves the Jins alone,” Meng Xi begged King Yun anxiously. Over the years, Young Master Jin had treated Meng Xi very well. Without him, she would not have survived. It was his gentleness that gave her a sense of belonging and support. She did not love Young Master Jin at first, but she gradually fell for him after getting along with him these years. Now, Meng Xi didn’t want his family to be ruined because of her, just as her family did. “If you are willing to spare the Jins, I am willing to go back to the royal palace with you.”

However, Meng Xi’s words made King Yun feel even more hateful. Meng Xi kept staring at Young Master Jin. When the two people looked at each other, there was a sincere and deep affection between them. They had fallen in love.

King Yun was so angry that he carried Meng Xi on his shoulder and walked out of the mansion of the Jins directly. He walked toward his palace, ignoring Meng Xi’s desperate struggle, “Put all the Jins in prison to wait for their death. Xier, you have to come with me no matter you want it or not. Don’t even think about seeing him again. I won’t spare any one from the Jins.”

The woman kept crying silently. Eventually, she had brought disaster to him. As the only son of the Jins and a gifted scholar of the Kingdom of Yun, he should live a happy and carefree life. However, now he was involved in trouble because he loved Meng Xi. Meng Xi’s felt so heartbroken. She wanted to die. She wanted to die so much. However, her sisters were still alive. For them, she couldn’t die. However, how could she live in this hopeless palace?

King Yun took Meng Xi to Xiyan Palace, which was exclusively built for her. He held Meng Xi in his arms tightly.

“Xier, look, this is Xiyan Palace. I built this place only for you. The phoenix tree in your yard was also transplanted here.”

Seeing the phoenix tree that had grown up with her like her family member, Meng Xi couldn’t stop crying. Now she cried more bitterly. The woman didn’t want the tree to see her sorrowful face at this moment. She struggled desperately, trying to break away from King Yun’s arms.

King Yun said anxiously, “Xier, you said you loved me. You said you would accompany me and support me even if all the people in the world abandoned me. Now my father is gone, my mother is gone, and everyone has betrayed me. I only have you.”

However, Meng Xi no longer wanted to answer any questions of King Yun. She lost her mind because of the piercing pain. Meng Xi struggled harder, and she finally broke free of King Yun’s arms. She ran out.

Meng Xi didn’t care about how she looked now. She ran around madly, no longer looking like a stunningly beautiful woman. Meng Xi ran and ran, not caring about anything else. All she wanted was to run away from everything.

Looking at the poor, maniac woman, King Yun couldn’t be more painful. She had been such a lively and pure girl, but now that girl had been killed by him. He chased after her and didn’t care about what he should behave like a king. He only wanted to hug her. No matter what kind of woman she became, he would never let her go.

Finally, King Yun caught up with her in the corner of the Royal Garden. He ignored Meng Xi’s mad resistance, hugged her, and pressed her onto the ground where all kinds of flowers grew. He kissed her forcibly. King Yun became irrational because of his suffering from lovesickness for so many years and the woman’s current situation. He loved her but didn’t know how to win her heart. He could only keep her in this way to feel she belonged to him.

King Yun kept kissing her. Meng Xi bit King Yun’s tongue hard, and he tasted blood in his mouth. However, King Yun did not hesitate, and he continued kissing her. His hands were also busy. One of his big hands held the woman’s hands while his other hand lifted her dress. He raped her again ruthlessly. Meng Xi was no longer a virgin. However, the tight feeling he had told him a fact.

Meng Xi had never been touched by another man. King Yun felt excited and became even crazier to conquer her desperately. The sky had gradually dimmed, and the moon slowly rose. However, the erotic thing continued among the flowers in the corner of the Royal Garden. However, no one dared to take a step closer. Well, no one had the nerve to watch the king’s sex life! They walked away from this place as far as they could.

When Meng Xi woke up again, she had been on the bed in the bedroom of Xiyan Palace. She only remembered that King Yun had raped her again. She had no idea when she lost consciousness. Now her clothes were clean and intact. However, her hands and feet were sore. Her body didn’t have any strength, and her voice was hoarse. Traces all over her body had told her that everything was real. She still fell into the hands of King Yun.

Meng Xi kept crying. Her eyes had been so red and swollen that she couldn’t see things. There was no light of hope in her eyes anymore—they were deadly dim. Meng Xi no longer smiled. She felt being alive was more painful than dying. Now she had lost everything again, but she still had to live. The word “pain” was not enough to describe how she felt inside. She no longer talked, and she was as lifeless as a porcelain doll.

Doll-like Meng Xi staggered and put on a mourning dress after regaining her strength. She didn’t allow any palace maids or court eunuchs to touch her. Meng Xi walked under the phoenix tree alone. Touching the phoenix tree with both hands, she saw the images of her family and Young Master Jin, who had accompanied her. It was like she was glancing over a book. After a long time, she let go of the phoenix tree. She didn’t want the phoenix tree to witness her misfortune. She seemed to be going to a funeral. She stumbled away from Xiyan Palace and never stepped into this place ever since.

Meng Xi became Noble Consort Xi. However, she had worn the mourning dress since that day she put it on. Without any expression, she seemed to be at a funeral every day. She stayed in King Yun’s bedroom. King Yun loved her. He didn’t force her because he knew she didn’t want to go to Xiyan Palace. Xiyan Palace gradually became a palace colder than the Cold Palace until many years later. No one had been there before Shui Yinzhu.

King Yun held her every night and raped her. However, she no longer resisted. She was like a porcelain doll without a soul. She allowed him to do everything he liked and did not cry, make trouble, laugh, or talk. The only male allowed to accompany her was the child called Lan Li they rescued together back then. Now this child was four years old. Lan Li called her mother when he saw her. He was the only person she did not reject now.

In a blink of an eye, another month passed. King Yun did his best to spoil Meng Xi and love her. However, he could no longer see her smile or win her heart. He thought at least Meng Xi would be with him forever, even though it was such a situation. However, one day, King Yun lost her again after he finished his work.

On that day, King Yun asked the entire city to be on guard, searching for Noble Consort Xi. For her, King Yun sent out all the people he could mobilize. He had searched everywhere. Finally, his men found Meng Xi on a cliff, along with Young Master Jin, who had escaped from the prison.
