Chapter 7 An Xia's Family

An Xia was extremely surprised. the woman said as she stuffed the money into An Xia's hands and said, "This is its monthly living expenses. Please take good care of it."

In the evening, there was a sizzling sound in the kitchen. An Xia was wearing a Doraemon apron. The wooden shovel flipped the imported steak in the pan and An Xia swallowed her saliva.

Wen Shu drooled all over the ground. She stood on the side and licked her lips, "Has it cooked?"

"It's about time." An Xia carefully placed the steak on the plate, along with broccoli and fried eggs, and put it on the dining table with both hands.

At dinner time, the Siamese cat jumped onto the table. The steak was cut into small pieces, just perfect to eat.

It stuck out its claws but felt two burning eyes staring at it.

At the dining table, there was a roll of cabbage, two cold noodles, and a small plate of pickled vegetables. The only meat was on the Siamese cat's plate.

The three of them looked at each other in an awkward atmosphere.

"I'll go get vinegar. Wen Shu, do you want some?" An Xia blushed and quickly slipped away to cover it up.

"Knock! Knock! Knock! "

At this moment, there was a knock on the door. An Xia paused for a moment, then turned around and walked towards the door, "Who is it?"

When she opened the door, her face turned cold. Three people were standing outside the door, one man and two women. They were her father, her stepmother, and her half-sister-An Jin.

"Why are you here?" An Xia's facial expression did not look good. She took two steps back and poured water for them. The fruits on the table were also moved to the coffee table.

"Hello, uncle and auntie." Wen Shu greeted them with a smile. She didn't have time to eat and was busy welcoming the guests.

An Guofeng was wearing a grey T-shirt with creases. He had big eyes and a square face, looking honest. He waved his hand and said, "Don't bother. We won't be staying long."

The stepmother, Zhang Xiafei, sat coldly on the sofa and glanced around with her eyes half-closed. A cold snort came out of her nose.

"Sis, your house is too small. The sofa is also too small to put a cat rack. There is almost no place to stand." An Jin, who sat next to Zhang Xiafei, said in disgust. She held her phone and played with it. The membrane on the back of the phone had not been torn. It was brand new and shiny.

"It's the best I can do. Isn't our house also too small and there is no place for me to live in?" An Xia put on a fake smile, with extreme resentment in her heart.

Ever since Zhang Xiafei married into the family with a child, the best things in the family were all given to An Jin. She graduated from university and returned home, only to find her bedroom having been occupied by An Jin. No matter what, she had already graduated. It was time for her to go out and take care of herself.

"That's true. It's just that living here is a bit poor." An Jin smiled at her and waved the new mobile phone in her hand. "I just got it. How is it? It looks good, right?"

An Xia took a deep breath. This phone was worth a month of her salary.

"It looks good." She picked up the remote control, turned on the TV, and returned to the dinner table, "You probably don't like our dinner, so I won't entertain you."

Their life was far better than hers. She couldn't do anything about her fate. But she believed that as long as she worked hard, everything would be fine.

Holding the chopsticks, she grabbed the noodles and put them into her mouth. For some reason, it was full of bitterness.

"What are you eating?" An Jin stretched her neck and glanced at the dining table. Looking at the cold noodles, she smacked her lips and walked to the fridge to open the door.

"Splash -"

A large pile of food smashed down, An Jin reflexively retreated, her eyes wide open in a second.

New Zealand steak, imported vegetables, and extremely expensive Chili cherries...

Although her family was not rich, An Jin's life was not bad. But she rarely saw these things.

"Ah! Sister, not bad. You are hiding it. Who are you afraid of snatching it?" An Jin kicked the ingredients and said sarcastically.

"They are not mine. Don't touch it!" An Xia hurriedly ran over and pushed An Jin away. She picked up the things scattering all over the ground. The lady of the Yu Family entrusted- 'Wangcai' to her. She would definitely make use of everything and give the Siamese cat the best care.

"I can't touch them? Mom, come and take a look. An Xia is rich and is hiding from us!" An Jin angrily stepped on the steak and accidentally stepped on An Xia's hand.

An Xia cried out in pain. An Jin didn't care and ran straight towards Zhang Xiafei.

Zhang Xiafei walked over and took a long, drawn-out look. From the moment she entered the room, she finally revealed a smile. Her voice was as gentle as a loving mother's, "An Xia, you see, you're doing well. You can't forget your roots. Look at your father. It's not easy to support the whole family. He's about to hand in his retirement insurance. Why don't you help?"

She knew it would be like this!

An Xia rubbed the red back of his hand and was about to explain when Zhang Xiafei grabbed An Guofeng's sleeve and pushed him forward.

An Guofeng staggered back a few steps. Zhang Xiafei glared at him, and his face turned pale. He stammered, "Xiaoxia, your mother is right. It's not easy to raise a daughter into an adult..."

"Don't say anymore." What An Xia disliked the most was her father's cowardly behavior. He didn't dare to run counter to Zhang Xiafei.

She sniffed her nose and picked up the wallet on the table. Wen Shu suddenly pulled the hem of her clothes and shook her head.

An Xia knew what her best friend meant, but she still took out the money and handed it to An Guofeng. "Dad, I haven't got this month's salary. These are my living expenses. You can take it for emergencies!"
