Chapter 17 I Will Not Go

The military training soon came to an end. Ever since she started talking about her with Leng Yan that day, Mu Tianen had felt that her feelings for Leng Yan seemed to have increased a little, but she could not say what it was.

In short, every day when she saw Leng Yan, she would be very happy and say everything to him, and he would quietly listen to and accompany her.

Although a lot of people were still talking about Mu Tianen during this period, no one dared to find trouble with her, so she still lived happily by ignoring those discussions about her.

On the last day of the military training, there would be an exam in the morning and parents would come to watch the presentation in the afternoon.

Mu Zongwen's family of four came very early and sat in the audience. Wen Jia raised her head and looked around, but she could not find her daughter.

"Don't worry," Mu Zongwen reached out to hold her hand and patted it. "Isn't Tianen telling you that she's safe every day? Don't worry."

"Sweetie has always come to tell us the good news and hide the bad news." It was hard for Wen Jia not to worry. She should have asked her elder daughter to cancel the military training.

"Tianen is here," Mu Tianheng said.

"Where?" Wen Jia looked up.

"Over there."

Following the direction in which his son was pointing, Wen Jia and Mu Zongwen saw Mu Tianen. She was thin and looked even more slender in ill-fitting camouflage clothing. However, she still had a smile on her face as chatting with the girl beside her.

"Sweetie is tanned and thinner," Wen Jia said distressedly.

"Mommy, military training is always like this." Mu Tianyu's voice was very calm, but she could not help looking in the direction of her elder brother's finger pointing at.

Mu Tianheng knew that his sister always spoke one way and thought another. A smile appeared on his warm and jade-like face.

Mu Tianen was looking for her parents too. With her sharp eyes, she quickly found them. She secretly raised her hand to signal to them. Qiu Ziyi, standing beside her, saw this and her eyes flashed with envy. Her mother had to work and could not ask for a leave.

After two hours of military training, Mu Tianen said goodbye to Qiu Ziyi and then skipped to find her parents. She held their arms and happily shared her joy. "Mommy, Daddy, I won first place in military training."

Wen Jia took off her daughter's cap and wiped the sweat on her forehead. She looked at her face, which was full of smiles even though it was tanned. The worry she had for the past month also dissipated, replaced by a relieved smile. "Sweetie, are you feeling tired?"

"I'm not tired." Mu Tianen shook her head and looked around. She was looking for Leng Yan, but she could not find him. She was disappointed as he had disappeared since the morning exams.

"Alright, let's go. I've booked a restaurant to celebrate Tianen." Mu Tianheng noticed something but did not say anything.

Mu family of five was about to leave when they were stopped by someone.

"Chairman Mu, Madam Mu, long time no see."

"Mrs. Zhou," Mu Zongwen looked towards the source of the voice and said expressionlessly.

It was Zhou Yan and her mother.

"Sweetie, greeting Mrs. Zhou," Wen Jia said to Mu Tianen.

"Hello, Mrs. Zhou."

Of course, Mrs. Zhou had heard about Mu Tianen, but she preferred to build connections with Mu family rather than believe in those things.

Although the Zhou family was one of the four great families, in recent years, under the leadership of Mu Zongwen and his son, Mu Family had left the other three great families behind.

She did not find a chance to talk to Mu Family at the previous introduction party. Today, she guessed that Mu Zongwen and his family would come.

"Madam Mu, Young Miss Mu looks much like you. She is cute, beautiful, and elegant."

Wen Jia did not have much contact with the wives of the other three families and was not familiar with them. However, she was still very happy to hear her praise for Tianen regardless of whether she was sincere or not, "Lady Zhou, you are so kind."

Zhou Yan, holding her mother's arm, used all her strength to suppress a trace of fear when seeing Mu Tianen. The scene from that day was still in her mind. She was afraid that Mu Tianen would suddenly rush over and push her down.

"My Ah Yan is also a freshman this year. They can take care of each other in school in the future."

"Zhou Yan and I can't take care of each other."

Mu Tianen's direct words caused everyone to look at her.

Wen Jia glanced at Zhou Yan and realized that she looked horrified and a bit angry. Then, she tilted her head and looked at her daughter. She had always been direct. If she wanted to say something, she would say it directly. Now that she said this, she must have had a conflict with Zhou Yan.

The smile on Mrs. Zhou's face froze, and there was a trace of awkwardness. Hearing this, Zhou Yan was angry and wanted to refute it, but when she looked up and saw that Mu Family was there, she could only swallow all the anger.

"Mrs. Zhou, we will take our leave." Wen Jia looked back from Mrs. Zhou and said coldly.

Since her daughter did not like someone, then there was no need for Wen Jia to be polite.

Mu Tianen's temper was more or less inherited from Wen Jia.

Wen Jia said that she was leaving. Mu Zongwen had always doted on his wife. Mu Tianheng and Mu Tianyu had sharp eyes. When they saw Zhou Yan arrive, they noticed that she was unhappy with their little sister. The family of five just ignored Zhou Yan and her mother and left.

Madame Zhou was stunned. She didn't know how to react. In the past, no matter how powerful Mu Family was, they wouldn't directly slap the face of the other three big families. What was going on?

Zhou Yan did not expect Mu Tianen to be so direct. Many emotions such as embarrassment, anger, and discontentment appeared on her face, but she had no choice.

Mu Tianen and the others did not go far before they were stopped again. This time, it was Zhang Lei.

"Student Mu Tianen, this is the military training graduation gift from Instructor Leng."

When Mu Family heard this, they subconsciously looked at Zhang Lei coldly.

"Thank you, Instructor Zhang," Mu Tianen said with a bright smile.

"Mu Tianen, see you again." Zhang Lei was frightened by Mu Family's gaze.

Zhang Lei did not think that the military training this time was as boring as before. He even felt that he had gained something that Mu Tianen was more skillful than him.

"See you later."

The school only started after a week of rest when military training was over.

It was rare for Mu Tianen to sleep late. If not for her phone ringing and waking her up, she would not get up. After checking her phone, she washed up and changed her clothes before going downstairs. No one was home.

After breakfast, Mu Tianen changed the TV channel and felt bored. The butler hurried in, "Miss Tianen, Young Master Mu Tianmin is coming."

"What does he come for?" Mu Tianen thought for a moment before recalling Mu Tianmin's appearance.

"I'm not sure. Young Master Tianheng said that if you don't want to see him, I'll send him off." The butler asked.

"Let him in. No matter what, he is my cousin." Mu Tianen shook her head.

"Yes."

Soon, the butler brought Mu Tianmin in.

"Uncle Butler, serve tea. I want fruit juice." Mu Tianen looked up at the butler.

The housekeeper looked at Mu Tianen worriedly, but she shook her head. So he just left with a slight nod.

Mu Tianmin sat down and crossed his legs. He looked at Mu Tianen with contempt and coldness. "Cousin, how is the military training going?"

"Not bad, cousin. Why are you here today?" Mu Tianen asked directly.

"Haili is an elite school. You are not suitable." Mu Tianmin did not hide the disgust in his eyes.

Haili's university was Mu Tianmin's pain. He was only a few months older than Mu Tianheng. They studied together, but Mu Tianheng was very smart and kept skipping grades. He graduated with a master's degree at the age of twenty and even Mu Tianyu graduated a year earlier than him.

Therefore, he did not want to go to Haili because he was afraid of being compared with Mu Tianheng and his sister, and he did not want to hear ridicule from others.

Mu Tianen stared at Mu Tianmin. The anger and indignation that flashed through his eyes were all seen. She did not know why and did not want to dig out the reason. "What you said does not count. Is there anything else?"

Mu Tianmin narrowed his eyes and smiled mockingly. He took out some documents from his pocket. "Mu Tianen, take a look."

What?

"After you see it, you will know that you should leave here and never come back."

Previously, Mu Tianen was protected very well, and there was almost no chance for her to be alone. After that, she was sent to Haili University for military training. Coincidentally, his second uncle's family had all gone out today except Mu Tianen.

In fact, he did not believe that Mu Tianen was a jinx. But Grandfather believed. If Mu Tianen left, he could make Grandfather happy, and he could also strike his second uncle's family, so he must make Mu Tianen leave.

Mu Tianen picked up the document and looked at it. It happened eighteen years ago. She was born with a difficult birth; her father was in a car accident, and the company was in a crisis, on the verge of bankruptcy, and so on.

Although Mu Tianen knew the truth, she had only heard about it and had never seen it with her own eyes. When she saw the photo of her father being injured, she was shocked.

She took the photo close, a little unable to believe that the dying man in the photo inserted full of tubes was her father; in her memory, her father was tall, powerful, and healthy.

At this moment, many emotions welled up in Mu Tianen's heart.

She was afraid, afraid that such a thing would happen again.

She was annoyed, wondering why she was so young and could not help at that time.

She felt distressed for her father, wondering why he had suffered so much.

However, she did not feel guilty. She did not think that it was because of her and she would not leave. She now had the ability to protect her family.

Mu Tianen put the documents back on the coffee table, raised her eyelashes, and looked at Mu Tianmin with clear eyes, "Thank you, cousin, for letting me see this."

"You should leave now." Mu Tianmin thought that Mu Tianen would feel guilty when she saw this. A little girl who had just grown up did not have much courage. Just threatening a bit would make her afraid. It was normal for her to be sentimental at this age.

"I won't leave. This is my home. I won't go anywhere."

Mu Tianmin looked at Mu Tianen's expression. She slowly smiled. It was so firm and confident that all the words in his throat were stuck.

"Cousin, do you want to stay for lunch?"

Wen Jia, who came back just after 12 o'clock. She knew from the housekeeper that Mu Tianmin had come, but she did not know what exactly he came to do.

When she went in and saw her younger daughter watching TV, she smiled very happily. Wen Jia was relieved and asked the housekeeper to prepare lunch. Then she put on a gentle smile and went forward. "Sweetie."

"Mommy," Mu Tianen turned around and waved cheerfully.

Wen Jia sat down beside Mu Tianen. The latter immediately held her hand. "Mommy, where did you go?"

"I have something to do. Let's eat first."

"Sure." "By the way, my cousin came. I asked him to stay for dinner, but he left," Mu Tianen said.

"He still stormed off. "

"What is he here for?" Wen Jia asked.

Mu Tianen stopped her mother and let go of her hand. She hugged her with both hands and rested her chin on her mother's shoulder. She said seriously, "Mommy, I will protect you and our family in the future."

Wen Jia's first reaction was that Mu Tianmin had said something to stimulate his daughter. She pushed her away with both hands, but she was shocked when he met her bright but determined eyes.

"Mommy, no one can let me leave you." Mu Tianen smiled brilliantly.
