Wen Jia sat uneasily in the living room, waiting for Mu Tianen. She frequently looked towards the door.
Although she looked fine when she left in the morning, Wen Jia was afraid that she would feel wronged. That was the first time she was so indifferent to her.
When Mu Zongwen came down from the study and saw this scene, he felt worried. He had not seen her like this for a long time.
"Ah Jia, what's wrong?" he asked softly as he walked up to her and sat down beside her.
Wen Jia just shook her head. In her life, she only kept one thing from her husband. It was a matter of her good friend Yuan Qing. But now, her younger daughter wanted to know. She was very confused.
Moreover, for so many years, Yuan Qing had stayed on Mount Qingyun, never leaving, and never said anything unusual.
Being suddenly mentioned by her younger daughter, she was a little scared.
Mu Zongwen did not force his wife. He hugged her, silently sitting with her and waiting.
Mu Tianheng and Mu Tianyu came back one after another. Wen Jia was disappointed again and again. The other three saw it and looked at each other. They thought about it, but they could not come up with anything.
Later, Mu Tianheng called Mu Tianen. She said that she would not come back for dinner. She was with her senior brothers and sisters and would come back later. Then the meal was served.
"I'm full." Wen Jia had no appetite at all.
When Wen Jia walked out and Mu Tianheng was sure that she could not hear, he asked, "Did Mom act like this after sending Tianen to school?"
Mu Tianyu's face sank. She remembered her mother was as usual in the morning. However, Mu Tianen seemed to want her mother to send her to school. "It should be related to Tianen."
"Did something happen to Tianen in school?" Mu Zongwen frowned.
He came back from the company in the afternoon and the servant said that his wife was in her study, so he also went to his study.
They all had their own study room.
Mu Zongwen really couldn't think of anything that could cause his wife to be so troubled. All these years, other than the that her youngest daughter had yet to return, he had never seen her worry about anything.
Mu Tianheng didn't think so, but he couldn't explain the reason. He could only say, "I'll ask later."
Mu Zongwen got up and left to check his wife.
The remaining two siblings looked at each other and lost their appetite. They quickly left as well, returning to their own rooms.
Mu Tianheng first went to the study to finish the work. After washing up, he took a book downstairs and wait for Mu Tianen, reading.
The huge living room was so quiet that only the sound of Mu Tianheng flipping a book could be heard. The breeze blew in and it was comfortable and cool. He looked up at the direction of the door from time to time.
Mu Tianen rubbed her neck and walked into the living room. She did not pay attention to her brother who was sitting there and went straight to the stairs.
"Tianen."
Mu Tianen stopped and look over. Only then did she realize that her brother was sitting on the sofa. He seemed tired. His eyes were even red. She forced out a smile. "Brother, are you waiting for me?"
"Go wash up and rest first. We'll talk about it tomorrow morning." Mu Tianheng also noticed his sister was tired.
Mu Tianen walked over with heavy footsteps and sat down. "Brother, go ahead."
She felt that since her brother was still waiting for her so late, there must be something important.
Although she was very tired, be it physically or mentally, she had been reading the materials in the studio for several hours to check on Master's classmates. It would take a long time to check whether they had been to Country A before Yuan Family's incident and whether they had anything to do with Yuan Family.
Only then did Mu Tianen realize how difficult her senior brothers and sisters had been all these years.
"Sit down first. I'll get you a glass of milk," Mu Tianheng said, standing up.
"Yes." Mu Tianen grabbed a pillow, lowering her head, but she did not doze off.
Two minutes later, Mu Tianheng came over with warm milk. He saw that his sister, who had just said that she was not sleepy, had already fallen asleep. He laughed and gently put down the milk and carried his sister upstairs.
Coming out of her room, Mu Tianheng took out his phone and dialed Leng Yan's phone number. The phone got through after ringing three times. "Ah Heng," Leng Yan said in a low voice.
"Do you know what happened regarding Tianen these days?" Mu Tianheng asked as he walked towards his room.
"Isn't she preparing for the mid-term exams?" Leng Yan asked anxiously. "Is there something wrong with her?"
Mu Tianheng did not get the answer he wanted. He frowned. He knew his younger sister's learning ability better than Leng Yan. He was not worried about her academic performance at all. Although first place couldn't be guaranteed, it was easy for her to get a good score.
"It's fine. Don't call Tianen. She's asleep. That's it."
Mu Tianheng hung up without giving Leng Yan a chance to speak.
Leng Yan, who was hung up the phone, was not angry. He was haunted with Mu Tianheng's words.
He called to ask about Mu Tianen. There must something wrong with Mu Tianen.
Leng Yan looked at his watch. It was almost midnight and Mu Tianen was said to have already fallen asleep.
Suppressing his uneasiness, he could only continue to busy with work to divert his attention.
In another room of Mu family, Wen Jia returned to her room and sat on the rattan chair outside the rooftop for a long time before she went back to wash up and rest.
Not long after she fell asleep, she suddenly sat up. Her eyes opened, and her face was filled with horror as she cried out, "Ah Qing, run! Fire! It's a huge fire!"
"Ah Jia, what's wrong?" Mu Zongwen got up immediately and hugged Wen Jia to comfort her as he was so worried about her that he kept awake all the time.
The moment Wen Jia was hugged, she realized that she was having a nightmare. She relaxed a little. She leaned on her husband's shoulder, closed her eyes, and calmed her rapid breathing.
"It's fine, it's fine. I'm here. Don't be afraid." Mu Zongwen didn't ask any more, just hugging her and patting her back.
Wen Jia leaned her head closer to her husband and needed his warmth to tell her that it had been a long time since that incident.
The nightmare just now was too horrible, exactly the same as what happened more than twenty years ago, except for the result.
But the dream just now was so real that she thought it was real.
She still could not figure out why her daughter would suddenly want to know about this.
When Mu Zongwen saw Wen Jia like this, he also thought of something.
Mu Tianen opened her sleepy eyes and turned over in the warm quilt. The memory of last night slowly returned to her. She talked to her brother in the living room. Then she waited for him to pour milk and fell asleep.
She looked outside the window. The sunlight was bright, and it could be seen through the thick curtains.
Mu Tianen got up and stretched. She lowered her head and looked at her wrinkled clothes in disgust. She quickly got up to wash up.
After taking a shower, Mu Tianen checked the time. It was already after 7 AM. She woke up late today and did not have enough time to meditate. She changed and picked up Eight Treasure Bag to go downstairs.
However, when she was about to reach the stairs, she remembered what happened yesterday morning and slowed down.
When Mu Tianen recalled what happened yesterday, she felt that she was too impatient.
Her Master had lost such a big family overnight. Her opponent must be very powerful. Her senior brothers and sisters had investigated for so long. It proved that the murderer had hidden very deep. She could not be anxious.
As Mu Tianen thought of this, she immediately regained her vitality.
She also understood that her mother did not want to bring it up. After all, she and Master were good friends, so it was normal for her to refuse mentioning it.
When she arrived at the dining room, her family was there. Mu Tianen looked at her mother. She gracefully placed the breakfast for her. "Daddy, Mommy, Brother, Sister, good morning."
"You are here. Come and have breakfast." Wen Jia immediately waved at Mu Tianen and smiled gently.
No one knew that Wen Jia had practiced with the mirror in the bathroom for a long time before returning to her usual smile.
She was also very nervous that her younger daughter was still concerned about what happened yesterday morning.
Seeing that her mother was the same as before, Mu Tianen slowly calmed down. She was afraid that her mother would feel uncomfortable because of her words. She smiled and said sweetly, "Okay."
Both of them had an understanding that they not to mention what happened yesterday morning.
The other three people looked back and forth between the two of them. It seemed that they just had an illusion that they acted weird yesterday, but they did not ask.
After breakfast, Mu Tianheng picked up his suit jacket. "Tianen, I'll send you to school today."
"Brother, can I take the driver's license after I finish my mid-term exams?" Mu Tianen asked as she put down her cup.
The others looked at her in surprise. Mu Tianen got up and picked up Eight Treasure Bag. "I learned it from Fifth Senior Sister. I can drive."
"Alright, let's go." Mu Tianheng nodded.
Mu Tianen smiled sweetly and waved at her family. "Bye-bye, Daddy, Mommy, Sis."
"It's time to start reviewing," Mu Tianyu reminded.
"Alright, I know." Mu Tianen hopped and left with her brother.
"Tianen, Mom waited for you for a long time last night. I felt uneasy all night. What happened last morning?" Mu Tianheng asked, looking at Mu Tianen with a smile. She was looking outside the car window, while she looked the same as before.
Mu Tianen came back from the secnery outside. Only then did she realize that her brother had been waiting for her so late last night because he had something to say.
"I'm just asking Mommy about Master. It might be some bad memories made her uneasy." She said.
Mu Tianheng recalled his mother's mood yesterday. It was not anger, but uneasiness and a trace of fear.
And the only fear that she had over the years was about Tianen, so they all thought that it was related to her this time, but they did not expect it to be related with her master.
Mu Tianheng had seen his younger sister's Master and his mother's best friend, Yuan Qing, five times. It was the first five years since his younger sister had been sent to Mount Qingyun. Every year, he went to see her, and Yuan Qing brought her to meet her.
His impression of her was that she was dignified and elegant. There was no expression on her face. She seemed to have no desire. She was like an otherworldly expert who had achieved the Dao and was very mysterious.
"Tianen, everyone has their own secrets. I won't ask, but you have to talk to Mom about it." Mu Tianheng didn't question her anymore.
Mu Tianen nodded and felt that it was necessary. "I know."
