HELENA'S POV:

I was in kitchen preparing dinner for dad and myself but my mind was full of words tha Mel said today. You know I've always ignored her words but today, I couldn't brush them off. I don't know what value I have in her life but she is important to me and her words today, were confusing me a lot.

"Dad, let's have dinner." I called dad from dining table while serving dishes for both of us. "Yes darling, I'm coming." Dad replied from his room.

"So, how was your shopping today?" I could hear that dad was saying something but as my mind was busy in thinking, I couldn't listen to his words properly.

"Yes, Yes dad." I said turning towards dad.

"What are you thinking darling?" he said looking at me but I replied without looking at him "Ah, Nothing dad." He would've caught me if I'd have looked into his eyes.

"Heli..." that's it. whenever he calls me Helena or Heli, that's the signal that he's serious. I have no other option now. I didn't want to speak about it to dad cause I didn't want to stress him but I know he won't let me off without speaking about the matter. He's really strict about it, the "policeman" spirit is still there inside him.

"Dad...actually, today..." God, this is really tough, he already doesn't like Melissa. He's always suggested me to be careful around her and if I speak about her words, I know he'll burst out. I'll have to make it as simple as I can.

"Baby, I'm here to listen to you." Dad put his hand over mine bringing out of my thoughts.

"Dad, actually today while I was out for shopping......" I told him everything that happened today with minimal harsh words she had used.

"Heli, who am I?" he asked raising his brows.

"You're my Dad." I said unknown about what he's going to say next.

"Exactly. I'm your dad and I know you very well. I can see how hard you're trying to modify the words and make it sound normal but I'm your dad. I can see through your soul baby." he said smiling at me making me speechless. I couldn't say anything to him.

"Baby girl, you know I've seen a lot in my life. I've met with many kinds of people in my life and trust me baby, people change colour faster than chameleons. I'm usually cool with everyone but I find something off about this Melissa. She's totally different from us.

I don't mind her thoughts being different than us. She's carefree and doesn't think before speaking and I can tolerate that. But her behaviour of judging you or anyone else on the basis of lifestyle or personality isn't right. Every individual has their own choices and priorities and it isn't necessary that everyone will live as per her rules or wishes.

She has to understand this and I hope she understands this as soon as possible cause life doesn't go easy without accepting this fact. Baby, I don't oppose her being around you. But I don't want you to change yourself because of what she or anyone else thinks about you.

You know what baby, you're strong. Strong enough to stand up for yourself depending upon your capabilities. Talent, hard work and efforts are the factors that makes you capable. So just focus upon making yourself strong and hard working, life will bless you with success itself.

Baby, I know you're going to new place but never let yourself get changed. Your originality, innocence, dedication towards work is your strength. This world is cruel than you think. It'll try it's best to change you, snatch your originality but you need to be strong, strong enough to face everything and make yourself better. Don't let anything change you. Just be yourself and work hard and make me proud." he said patting my shoulders.

Every single words said by him made a clear vision on my mind. I was doubting upon myself but his trust upon my capabilities made me realize that I have a lot to do. He's right, I'm different but I'm proud of myself. Moreover, my dad is proud of me.

"I love you dad. You're the best mentor who clears everything in my life." I said holding his hands and he kissed on my forehead. "I'm going to do my best, I'm going go make my dad proud." I repeated these words for numerous times before drifting to sleep.
