HELENA'S POV:

I was packing my suitcase as I'm finally moving to California tomorrow. I still can't believe a week passed by so fast. I couldn't even enjoy as much as I wanted with dad.

Yesterday's day was fun with dad, baking and cooking together, movies at home and playing cards. At the end of the day, we both went to visit mom on her grave and I promised her to make her and dad proud and make sure that dad will have a better life now.

"May I come in darling?" dad asked knocking the door. "Yes dad" I replied keeping my certificates on my suitcase.

"All set baby girl?" dad asked looking at my suitcase. "Yes dad." I said moving my eyes over my things on my suitcase.

"Your certificates?" he asked coming back go his policeman form. "Yes sir." I replied in the same spirit.

"Passport and ticket?"

"Yes sir."

"All necessary clothes and belongings?"

"Yes sir."

"Dad's special cookies?"

"Ye..No sir." I was confused with what he said. I don't remember any cookies he had baked for me. He smiled at me and brought a jar of cookies on his hands from his back and that is my favourite.

"Wowwwww Dadddd... My favourite cookies. I love you dad." I hugged him tight and he hugged me back. I was smiling getting my cookies but then I remembered that I'll be going away from him tomorrow. Only the thought of him being away from me made me feel hollow and my grip on his arms grew more tight, not wanting this moment to pass away. My eyes shed tears although I tried my best to control them.

"Baby, Please don't cry. How will I stay strong if you cry like this?" dad caressed my hair and my silent tears turned into loud cry. I cried in his arms till I felt light. I parted away from him and found my dad silently shedding tears. I wiped his tears and took the jar of cookies from his hands and put it on my suitcase. I made him sit on my bed and laid on his lap.

"Dad, will you make me sleep like you used to do in my childhood? Will you sing for me to sleep?" I said making puppy face at him. He smiled lightly and sang for me until I drifted to sleep.

Next morning, I woke up feeling someone's hand moving on my hairs. I opened my eyes to find my dad staring at me lovingly. "Good morning dad." I smiled at him and he kissed on my forehead.

"Get ready, we'll have breakfast together." he left the room after saying it and I got ready in comfy joggers and crop top hoodie after quick shower and walked towards dinner table. I had my breakfast with dad and he had prepared all my favourites.

We both hopped inside the cab that I had booked and reached to airport. It was so hard to control my tears all the way. Mel came to airport after ten minutes. She gifted me a scarf and made me wear it. Later after sometime, Andrew too came to see me off and he had brought a photo frame of both of us for me. Even Mr. Jack came to see me off.

I was having mixed emotions all the time. I was happy and excited to explore new place and work but I was sad to leave my loved ones at the same time, especially my dad. Dad was reminding me do's and don'ts all the time until the announcement was made.

I hugged everyone for the last time. "Mel, Please take care of my dad for me." I said while hugging her and she nodded at me. "Andrew, I want to see you becoming a successful engineer and I love you." I hugged him tight saying so. I smiled at Mr. Jack and said, "Thank you for all your support. Please look upon my father for me." and he nodded at me.

Then I moved towards dad and hugged him tight. I couldn't say anything to him. I just looked at him with teary eyes and whispered, "I love you dad. Take care until I come back." and walked away without looking back at them cause I know I won't be able to stop myself if I turn back to them. Goodbyes, are really hard.

I sat on my seat and took deep breaths closing my eyes. I'm going to start a new journey now. I'll make my life the best and I'll treat my dad as a king as he deserves. The flight took off as high as my dreams and after hours of travelling, the plane finally landed at California. I came out of airport to see the beauty of this place. I'm going to make my name in this place for sure.
