HELENA'S POV:

I walked towards the elevator in order to go to my cabin and pressed the button for twenty eighth floor where my cabin is. I started going through my phone as the door of the lift was about to get closed but then someone stopped the door from closing by stepping in between. My eyes noticed the brown leather shoes but I didn't focus on it. I moved my eyes back to my phone and started scrolling through social media. It had been quite a time since I logged in last time and the very next moment, I regretted it a lot.

I saw a photo posted by Andrew on his profile where he was kissing on Melissa's cheeks with a caption "Love of my life." That was the moment I got to know that it still affects me, I still feel the same pain when my eyes welled up. The moment a drop of tear fell upon my mobile screen, I came back to senses. A rage of anger grew in my heart when those moments flashed in front of my eyes, the promise I made to dad flashed back in my mind. The tears in my eyes were not allowing me to see anything clearly but I still managed to press on the "block" button.

I locked my phone and kept it back on my pocket and was about to wipe those tears on my cheeks with my hands when a white handkerchief came in front of my sight which made me scared. I forgot that I wasn't alone in the elevator, a man had entered in as well. I looked up so see who it was and that was someone who I never expected to see. It was... It was him.

AIDEN'S POV:

"Take it." I said forwarding the handkerchief even closer while she was still staring at me. Another drop of tear slipped from her eyes, those deep black eyes were still staring at me. I never expected to see her in this state and I don't know why I felt uncomfortable seeing her cry. She was still not talking handkerchief so I... wiped out her tears with handkerchief myself which made her shiver. I came back to my senses looking at her reaction so I pulled out my hands back immediately.

"I.. I'm sorry." She nodded her head looking down. As the door opened in twenty eighth floor, she walked out of the elevator without even looking back. I stared at her back which was moving away from me until and unless the door closed back again. The lift opened back again on thirtieth floor so I walked towards my cabin after coming out of elevator.

It had been an hour since I started studying the files but I was still not being able to concentrate upon my work. Her tears, her sad face was still flashing in front of my eyes. I followed her into the lift to find a chance to irritate her but when I saw her crying, I couldn't help but peek on her phone and that's when I saw a couple posing being cosy. And I'm being super honest, that man looks like a scum itself from his face. Could it be that, she faced a heartbreak?

But whatever it is, why am I even concerned about her? She's just a worker in my company and I'm the boss, I shouldn't forget that. "So all these days, you were having fun teasing and irritating a worker huh?" My mind reminded me how I kept on teasing her and at the same time my heart was not ready to deny that I enjoyed every moment being around her.

Ughh... Aiden concentrate upon your work. I brushed all my thoughts and then started going through files again. Just as I finished going through the third file and moved towards the fourth file, I realized it was the file of the same proposal that she presented the other day which I had to sign. A strong, confident and fun to tease kind of woman, that was what I used to picture her until I saw her today. I saw another shade of her today and now it's making me more curious. What else might be her shades?

"Lost in thoughts of some beauties huh?" I swear I was so startled when I heard the voice all of a sudden and guess who it was? It was G who was sitting on the chair in front of me with a mischievous smile and here, her smile was enough to tell me that she caught me off guard. But still, I need to make it up in front of her.

"Nah, I don't have any time for beauties. I was just lost in some business thoughts." I smiled trying my best to make it look as a normal smile so that she wouldn't doubt and as she didn't ask anything further about it, I think the plan worked out. "By the way G, you here?" I asked placing all the files aside. "Ah yeah, just wanted to see the office after so many years and I must say it has grown much better and progressive. I'm proud of you both." That's what I work hard for, to make my family happy and proud.

We both were talking about the company when there was a knock on the door. "Come in." As I allowed, Diana entered the cabin and there was someone else following her, Ms. thief. As soon as I saw her, the incident earlier flashed in my eyes. I found a different lady in front of me than earlier, she's more stronger and confident than in the morning.

I was still lost in my thoughts but G's words brought me back to reality. "Who's this beautiful lady Diana?" G walked towards them and her gaze was fixed on Helena all the time. Ah Helena, quite a good name. Calling her actual name sounds quite weird as I'm used to call her Ms. thief. "She's so beautiful, isn't it Aiden?" G winked at me asking and now I'm in dilemma.
