"Not that way, please make sure you decorate every corner of the hall with lavender flowers please." A girl who seemed to be extremely excited was running from one corner to the other while ordering people to do their job with the perfection she wanted.
Smile never left her face all this time, as if she was the happiest person on the Earth at this moment.
"Clara!" A man in his fifties called out her name, it was Mr. Trey from her favourite bakery who had come up with a delivery.
"Thank god you're on time. Thank you uncle Trey." She smiled whole heartedly and was taking out the money from her purse for the payment.
"No daughter, you don't have to pay for the cake."
"But uncle...."
"This would probably be your last order. All these years, you've grown up in front of my eyes eating pastries and cakes from my bakery. Now that you're going away, I want to gift this to you. I will miss you."
"Un... uncle, I will forever be grateful to you. Thank you so much."
Mr. Trey walked away after giving her the box and Clara came back to her form, all excited about the celebration and most importantly; that special someone who'd be here today.
After checking out on everything for three whole times, she dressed herself into a beautiful gray top and jeans with a little make up. She was getting impatient, when no one showed up for quite a long time, she dialled a number.
"Hello, where have you people been?" She asked immediately as soon as the receiver picked up the call.
"We're on the saloon and almost done. We'll be there within fifteen minutes."
She started fidgeting from one end to the other in the hall while her eyes never leaving sight of the door. Soon, she heard a honk from a car which announced the arrival of the person she was waiting for the most, the one she loved, the one she cherished.
The complexion of emotions covered her heart on thinking of seeing that person; love, nervous, shy and happy. She heard some footsteps marching into her direction and soon, he came into her vision.
But this time, he looked different. His long and rough hairs were neatly trimmed and gelled, his body covered under well designed suit and his beards shaved like that of a gentleman. He looked way different than the one she fell in love with but one thing was as it is, his eyes. His eyes held the same innocence and peace.
"Look whom did we bring? I hope you recognized him." said Helena.
"Oh my! I.. I can't believe this!" Exclaimed Clara with her hands covering her mouth as tears made their way down on her face.
Everyone were standing right there with no one speaking anything, all of them could feel the importance of this silence at the moment. With the little sniffing of Clara, the surrounding had turned out to be emotional.
He slowly moved towards her and gently wiped her tears with his fingers. Her tears turned out more vigorous as if his touch acted as fuel to her emotions. He kissed on her forehead and pulled her into a hug, her grip over his arms tightened as if she was afraid that he'll run away if she lets him go.
"Hey, I didn't know that my bubbly wobbly would be so emotional." He said caressing her hair.
"I was trying my best but I still couldn't believe that we'll be finally living our lives together." She sniffed while breaking the hug.
"Awww! You two look so cute together." Exclaimed Helena resting her head on Aiden's shoulder. Aiden loved the way his wife was looking cute, he didn't leave a chance to hold her on his arms. He simply hugged her waist with one hand while the other was holding her hand.
"So do you two." Said Jonathan, looking at them.
"Thank you. Well, let's cut the cake birthday boy." As Aiden said that, Clara nodded while wiping her tears and walked out to get the final things done. Helena joined her too, within few minutes everything was set.
The three of them sang the birthday song while Jonathan blew the candles and cut a slice of cake. He first fed it to Clara and then to the couple. The men started talking with each other after a little celebration while Clara was busy on taking care of things around.
Helena walked to her side and started helping her, after a little hesitation she finally decided to ask it to her.
"So are you sure about leaving the country?"
Clara smiled at her and answered, "Yes I am. And I'm happy that he agreed to me as well. The society thinks he's a criminal. They would never accept him back in this society. But I want him to get all the happiness and respect he deserves. We'll start afresh with only two of us, where no one would know us and his past."
"Have you decided your new destination?"
"Not right now. But we'll decide it by the evening and fly out to start our new life tomorrow."
Helena just nodded at her and walked towards Aiden. When it was almost time for them to leave, they both walked to the two of them and handed a cover to them.
"What is this?" Asked Jonathan looking at them.
"This is your birthday gift from our side." Smiled Helena.
He opened the cover while Clara was curiously looking at his actions with her hands wrapped around his arm. Jonathan's eyes widened looking at the paper. Reading his expression, Clara thought some thing was serious. So she peeped at the papers on his hands.
It was a paper of small property which was under Jonathan's name in Hallstatt, Austria along with flight tickets of two of them.
"Aiden, Helena.. We can't take this. This is too much to call it a gift." Jonathan said while handing the papers to Aiden.
"Come on man, it's not too much. We've done this for you and Clara cause we consider you as our friends and important part of our lives. You two are about to start a new life and we'd be more than happy to be involved in your new journey." Said Aiden giving back those papers.
"But you've already done enough for us. If it wasn't for you, Jonathan could've never come out so early." Said Clara looking at Jonathan with her voice holding pain.
"It was Jonathan who proved himself righteous to get out of the cell, all I did was to request. But it was Jonathan's behaviour and contribution while living in the cell that helped him to come out."
"Yeah and please, don't say no to this. This is really special for us, we heartedly got this for you. It's not too big to feel awkward." Added Helena.
After frequent insistence, they finally agreed to accept it. Helena and Aiden left back for their home while Jonathan and Clara walked back to Clara's home. Later at night, Jonathan was just staring at Clara who was busy on packing.
"Why are you staring at me Mister? Don't you know, it's wrong to stare at someone else's daughter like that?" Teased Clara. Jonathan smiled looking at her, he loves the way she's always smiling and bubbly. That is why he calls her bubbly wobbly.
"Are you sure you want to leave everything behind and go with me?"
"A hundred times yes."
He walked by her side and started helping her in packing. When they were done, he carried her to bed and hugged her to sleep. He kept on staring at her while she was sleeping. He couldn't believe he was actually having her in his arms.
JONATHAN'S POV:
Today finally after around seven years, I got released from the jail. Ever since I was taken to jail from the hospital that day, I was living like a lifeless body. I didn't know who I was, I didn't know my own identity. Helena and Aiden would come to see me every month and that day would be the most happiest day for me. I would be happy with the fact that I'm not alone, there's someone who knows me, someone whom I can call mine.
I used to do the assigned work and spend my time in cell. Sometimes I'd have to sweep, sometimes clean dishes. One day when I was sweeping around the cells, I saw a long slender legs standing in front of me. As I looked up, I saw a girl smiling at me.
"Hey! I am Clara Simpson." She introduced herself while forwarding her hand for a handshake. I was not used to people talking to me like that, so I didn't feel comfortable with her being around me. I walked back to my cell without answering her back and I thought that was it. But then she kept on visiting the cell often.
Finally after three months, we had a little conservation when I felt she wasn't harmful. Things changed later, she started visiting often and our bond started getting strong. I had not much to share about myself except for my name and my birthday which was not actually my birthday. Helena and Aiden thought of celebrating the day I woke up from coma as my birthday as it was the beginning of my new life.
But she had a lot to share about her life. She'd always make me smile and laugh with her silly jokes. Her smile would make me smile, I didn't realize that I was falling for her until that month when she didn't come to see me.
She didn't come to see for a whole month, I started getting scared for her. I was hoping that I'd see her soon or I'd go insane. That day when she came back after a month, I pulled her into a hug and kissed on her lips. It was too late to back out, I felt I lost her. Why would she fall in love with a criminal like me?
I was all set to run away from her after pulling back but she pulled me back and kissed on my lips. That was enough to express the feelings in our heart but I wasn't sure if she'd really stay by my side. But she said that she'd always be on my side and she proved her words.
I had never expected her to cry but when she did today on my release, I knew she's the one. I can't describe how lucky I feel to have her on my side. Though I don't remember my past, I know I was a sinner and even after knowing about me, she stood by my side. Now that I've got chance, I'll make sure that I try my best to fill her life with all the happiness she wishes for.
CLARA'S POV:
Right now, we're on the flight to Austria. He's sleeping on my shoulder while I'm adoring his features. I still remember the first day I had seen him. I was there on the jail to interview the criminals for my journal which was part of my syllabus, he was the only one who didn't look scary. He had that innocence in his eyes that made me hard to believe that he could be a criminal.
He didn't reply to my hello which increased my curiosity to know him. I started visiting him often and checked about him in the police station at the same time. I was startled to know his past but with the interaction I had with him, I knew he had a different side of story that wasn't mentioned in the case file. Later, I got to meet with Aiden and Helena. They helped me to get clear about his past.
I don't know why but he had turned so important to me. I'd always wait for a chance to meet him. That month when I couldn't go to meet him because I had to go to my hometown for my step mom's funeral who actually had no attachment to me, I was dying to see him.
I had no one to call as my own after dad's death. Step mom was never on my side so I had been living all alone. But when I got him, I felt like I got someone who is like me; alone and starving for love.
I was determined to tell him that I love him that day but I was the happiest when he initiated first, with that mind blowing kiss. We got in a relationship but it wasn't easy at all. He was inside the cell while I was outside. We could only meet and see each other on the limited time bound and people looking at us like insane was a different stress.
I was called foolish to fall in love with a criminal but that never bothered me; maybe because I had never seen him in his old avatar. All I knew was he had changed, he had no memories and I wanted to make new memories with him that would be enough for both of us.
I had planned about shifting a long ago to which he agreed and what Helena and Aiden did for us was such a big deal for me. I'll be always grateful to them.
After the plane landed, we got a cab to the address after coming out of airport. It was a beautiful house with a little garden, perfect for two. We thought of exploring the area around so we started walking around with our hands intertwined.
Just as we were walking, we heard a bell. As we were starting our new life, we decided to pay a visit to church and seek for blessing. As we entered, we saw a couple taking their wedding vows.
"Congratulations for the new journey of your life." With that said, every one clapped for them. Our eyes met with each others, he pulled me closer.
"I want to start a new journey of life with you." He said.
"Me too." I replied thinking that he was talking about our life now onwards.
"So shall we?"
"What?" I asked confused.
"Shall we promise to each other to always stay by each other's side till death in front of Lord? Shall we take vows to love each other and make a beautiful family? Shall we mark our relationship. Will you marry me?"
I was taken aback with his words, I was lost in his beautiful orbs. "Say yes! Say yes!" I realized that everyone in the church including the newly weds were surrounding us while waiting for my answer.
"Yes.... yes. Let's... Let's get married." I knew I was smiling like there's no tomorrow. I had been dreaming of this day since we got into relationship but I wasn't hoping to see this day so soon.
Father got us rings before the wedding started. We took vows and I know, every words that came were from heart. We made each other wear the rings before he kissed me in front of everyone.
"Thank you for being my wife, for being my life. Thank you for accepting me with my past. I love you."
"I love you too."
He pulled me into a kiss again, every one around us were clapping and hooting for us but we were too lost in ourselves to care about that. This is my life now, which now has nothing called me or mine. It'll be us and our on everything we do, everything we have❤
