"Purple Demon Blade!"
Little Bai said with a sly grin.
"Great name!"
Du Fei complimented lightly, then slowly lifted the Purple Demon Blade, inspecting it up close. Upon closer examination, Du Fei noticed that the blade of the Purple Demon Blade had delicate purple lines, spreading out like spider webs, nearly covering the entire blade. It appeared as if there were blood vessels on the blade, looking incredibly unique.
Furthermore, Du Fei could distinctly feel the chilling aura emanating from the Purple Demon Blade, seemingly originating from these purple lines. If he were to activate it, the Purple Demon Blade might unleash an even more formidable power.
"Master, don't be fooled by its current rank as a sixth-grade talisman. You must know that the Ancient Demon Tiger, being one of the four major clans in the Monster World, is naturally incomparably strong. It's said that all its special abilities were concentrated in its Tiger Demon Bone. Hence, this bone contains the essence of the Ancient Demon Tiger. When the Ancient Demon Tiger perished, a trace of its consciousness might have fused with this Tiger Demon Bone. So, if you're lucky, Master, you might be able to summon the residual soul of the Ancient Demon Tiger," Little Bai spoke softly, squinting his eyes.
"Oh? Summon the residual soul of the Ancient Demon Tiger?" Hearing this, a twitch appeared at the corner of Du Fei's eyes. He hadn't expected that this seemingly ordinary Purple Demon Blade could have such a function.
"Of course, summoning the residual soul of the Ancient Demon Tiger isn't as simple as you might think. At least for now, I haven't figured out a way for you to successfully summon the residual soul contained within. However, even so, with the existence of the Ancient Demon Tiger's soul, this Purple Demon Blade is beyond comparison to ordinary talismans," Little Bai said after a moment of contemplation, his tone slightly uncertain.
"I see. Well, think of a way when you have the time. If we can summon the residual soul of the Ancient Demon Tiger, it'll be another ace up our sleeve for survival," Du Fei mused for a moment before nodding in agreement.
"True, I will do my best in these upcoming days. At least before the Palace Contest concludes, we must find a way. Even though Master, you have many cards up your sleeve, the Yunshui Long Family isn't to be underestimated. The more tricks we have, the safer it is for us," Little Bai commented in agreement.
Du Fei nodded, then hesitated, "Since we used the tiger demon bone to forge the Purple Demon Blade, will the remaining ancient demon tiger remains lose their effectiveness?"
"Not at all. I've already extracted the Ancient Demon Tiger's legacy from the bone. When the time comes, we can let your Little Round Tiger try it." Little Bai grinned, "Master, you shouldn't worry too much. The Palace Contest is less than a day away. You should focus on refining the Purple Demon Blade. Even though it's ownerless and was crafted with your Qi, making it into a life force martial talisman won't be as easy as you might think."
"Alright, I'll start now," Du Fei nodded.
"Here's the method to craft a life force martial talisman. Remember, Master, you cannot make a mistake. Continue crafting it in the pill room. Meanwhile, I'll figure out how to make this silly little tiger stronger." Little Bai smiled, then with a small gesture, a profound stream of information appeared in Du Fei's mind.
After a moment, Du Fei slowly nodded. The Palace Contest was just a day away, and he didn't want to miss the opportunity to participate because of a failed bone-refining process.
Without delay, Du Fei entered the pill room and sat cross-legged. Taking a deep breath, he fiercely pointed at his forehead with his right hand. Immediately, a rich surge of mental strength emanated from him, and the Purple Demon Blade quickly floated up. Almost simultaneously, a bone-chilling coldness radiated from the blade, faintly accompanied by ancient, deep tiger roars.
Du Fei focused on the hovering Purple Demon Blade in front of him, then slowly closed his eyes. With a thought, a dense wave of mental strength mixed with his Qi enveloped the blade. Soon after, a series of peculiar noises emanated from the blade.
Clearly, the Purple Demon Blade was not willing to be easily refined by Du Fei. However, since it was a martial talisman crafted from Du Fei's own Qi, despite its reluctance, it couldn't resist Du Fei's refining process.
The entire refining process that followed went smoothly, as if everything just fell into place.
Even so, the refining took an entire day. Only when the Purple Demon Blade was completely subdued did Du Fei take a sigh of relief. He then abruptly opened his eyes, bit the tip of his tongue, and a spurt of fresh blood sprayed out, landing directly on the Purple Demon Blade.
The moment the blood touched it, a faint bloody scent began to emanate from the Purple Demon Blade, making the purple hue of the blade now tainted with a hint of bloody red.
The instant this color took shape, Du Fei felt a distinct connection with the Purple Demon Blade, as if it were an extension of his own body.
This sensation was something that the martial talismans he had acquired before couldn't compare to.
Feeling this connection, Du Fei's gaze became fiery. He then slowly extended his hand and gently gripped the Purple Demon Blade.
This time, when he held the Purple Demon Blade, although it still felt slightly cold, the chill was not piercing. Instead, it felt extremely comfortable. Of course, this comfort was only for Du Fei. If he were to use the Purple Demon Blade in an attack, the chilling aura within the blade could surely pose a significant threat to many.
With the Purple Demon Blade in hand, Du Fei gave a swing, slashing it forward. Immediately, a deep swooshing sound echoed, followed by a fierce gust of wind that left a deep crack on the floor of the pill room. The crack was even covered with a layer of thin ice crystals, which looked dazzling to the eye.
Seeing this, Du Fei nodded in satisfaction. With a thought, the Purple Demon Blade instantly retracted into his palm, seemingly becoming a part of his body, a sensation that felt incredibly wondrous.
"Is this what a life force martial talisman feels like?" Sensing the peculiar connection, Du Fei couldn't help but nod slightly. This sensation was incredibly unique, making him feel that using the Purple Demon Blade was much more intuitive than using the Canglong Reverse Claw Imprint. If he had had the Purple Demon Blade that day, he might not have been defeated by Crazy Blade Lv Yu.
"Successfully refining your life force martial talisman is just the first step. The next thing to do is to store it within your body and nurture it day and night with your Qi. This way, the power of the martial talisman will grow increasingly formidable. With the right opportunity, it might even evolve instantaneously. So, Master, you should treat it well," Little Bai said as he entered the pill room, sensing Du Fei's successful refinement and nodding in approval.
"By the way, while you were refining this, I extracted the Ancient Demon Tiger's legacy and infused it all into Little Round Tiger's mind. However, how much it can grasp depends on its luck," Little Bai suddenly mentioned in a soft voice.
"Oh? What happened?" Du Fei asked, his brows slightly furrowed.
"Look," Little Bai pointed at the Little Tiger, which currently resembled a kitten and was snoring away in the courtyard. "Since you started refining the Purple Demon Blade, Little Round Tiger has been restless. It left me no choice but to try to insert the memory of the Ancient Demon Tiger's legacy into its mind. Yet, judging by its current state, it probably hasn't succeeded."
Du Fei glanced at the Little Tiger, picked it up to inspect it for a moment, then held it close, saying, "Is this little guy going to be drowsy like this forever? If it continues to sleep like this, won't it just get fat and die?"
Little Bai shook his head, "I'm not entirely sure about that. However, if I'm not wrong, it's probably still trying to comprehend the Ancient Demon Tiger's legacy. The legacy of the Ancient Demon Tiger Clan is exceptionally intricate, so I'm not optimistic about Little Round Tiger's chances of success. Thus, we might not want to have any immediate expectations for its combat abilities."
"What will happen if it fails?" After a moment of hesitation, Du Fei sighed.
"It's hard to say. Regardless of the outcome, it's its own choice. So, we can only wait. If you're willing, Master, you can extract all the essence blood from the Ancient Demon Tiger's remains and let it consume it. This might help a bit. However, if you do this, the remains of the Ancient Demon Tiger will be wasted and won't serve any other purpose," Little Bai pondered for a moment and then spoke solemnly.
"Alright, let's proceed that way. Tell me the method to refine the essence blood," Du Fei decided instantly. Without hesitation, he waved his right hand, and the massive Elixir King's Ancient Tripod appeared in mid-air, soon crashing to the ground. Du Fei lightly tapped, and a rich pill fire instantly rose.
Seeing Du Fei promptly getting everything ready, Little Bai could only shake his head with a wry smile. After closing his eyes for a moment, he imparted the refining method to Du Fei.
The method to extract the essence blood was quite simple. One only needed to disintegrate the remains of the Ancient Demon Tiger and burn them all in the medicine tripod. In the end, the essence blood would naturally form. Although the value of the essence blood is high, compared to the whole carcass, its worth is rather minimal. However, Du Fei didn't think much about it, especially considering Little Bai's sake.
Under the boiling burn of the pill fire, it didn't take long for the dissected remains of the Ancient Demon Tiger, handled by Du Fei and Little Bai, to gradually turn into a liquid. Eventually, under Du Fei's watchful eyes, it transformed into two drops of pale-colored blood, slowly dripping into the Elixir King's Ancient Tripod.
With a light flick of his right hand, he extinguished the pill fire. Staring at the two drops of pale-colored blood before him, Du Fei slightly furrowed his brows. After a while, he sighed in relief because within these essence blood drops, he faintly sensed a wild power—a force so formidable that even he found it hard to fathom.
"Did Long Aotian desired these remains so much just for the essence blood?"
With that thought, even the corner of Du Fei's eyes twitched slightly.
