Chapter 2 The Beautiful Boy Ran Away from Home

Early in the morning.

The train slowly stopped at the Lake City Railway Station. There were very few pedestrians on the station, and only three of them got out of the train.

After the bumpy ride, Xia Wan felt carsick again. Her small body curled up into a ball as she was held by her adoptive mother all the way.

There was no direct train to Lake City, so they could only transfer the long-distance bus back to it. However, it was too early and Xia Wan vomited badly. Xia Aijun suggested that they let Xia Wan have a rest first and then took a taxi back.

In a daze, Xia Wan sat in the waiting room and drank the brown sugar water handed over by her adoptive father. She felt much better, and the feeling of dizziness and vomiting gradually disappeared.

Seeing that she was in better spirits, Xia Aijun asked,

"Xiao Wan, what else do you want to eat? I'll go and buy it." He asked.

He was very nice, as if he was treating his own child.

Xia Wan smiled and shook her head.

"Daddy, I don't want to eat anything."

Xia Aijun knew that the child was precocious and sensible. He guessed that the child was afraid of trouble him, so she said that she didn't want to eat. Xia Aijun insisted on going out to buy breakfast and went to find the long-distance bus back to Lake City by the way.

At this time, there was no one else in the station except for the working staff who were dozing off. Xia Wan had just drunk some water and wanted to go to the toilet. Li Aizhen was also relieved to let her go to the WC in front of her within her sight.

At the door of the bathroom was a large sink with a mirror. There was a men's and a women's toilet on each side, which was relatively clean.

Xia Wan finished quickly. When she came out to wash her hands, she saw a pair of sneakers standing behind the hot water door in the mirror.

The brand was obvious, with excellent workmanship and in a small size. It looked like for a half-grown child.

Xia Wan was still dizzy after carsickness and did not realize what was going on. She subconsciously returned to the hall. Seeing her come out, Li Aizhen took out a handkerchief to wipe the water on her hands carefully.

Everything was calm. Suddenly, a group of people rushed in from outside the station. Their leather shoes stepped on the floor tiles, making a sudden sound with a loud echo. The sound was so loud that it immediately woke up Xia Wan.

Li Aizhen nervously hugged Xia Wan and looked warily at the dozens of people in black suits like a lioness. The leader pointed to a few groups of people to go to the station hall, toilet, snack shop, and other places to look for someone, while he went to communicate with the staff.

When Xia Wan heard that this group of people obviously had a Beijing accent, she was even more surprised. Suddenly, she thought of the pair of sneakers hiding in the hot water room. She guessed a little in her heart, but her eyes were still fixed on the men in black who were searching everywhere and did not look at the hot water room at all.

The leader quickly walked toward Xia Wan and the others with a cold face. When he got closer, the leader squatted down. Unexpectedly, he had a very young face, and he looked only in his early twenties, gentle and kind.

He handed a lollipop to Xia Wan and said gently,

"Little sister, did you see a boy? He's at about your age and looks good, but he has a bad temper. This time, he ran away from home when his family lack of attention. It's been long for us to find him."

Really?

Xia Wan did not trust him. These people were not ordinary people at first glance. The man in front of her was wearing an expensive long coat. His clothes touched the ground but he did not care whether the clothes would be dirty or not.

He was definitely a man with a very rich family background. From his appearance, he looked like a member of the Chu family, a rich and powerful family in the capital.

In her previous life, the relationship in the Chu family was complicated and the struggle was serious. The head of the Chu family had forced his first wife to die and made the mistress be his wife. Later, the bloody struggle between the mistress's youngest son and the first wife's son had become a joke in the capital circle for many years.

Now that it was worthwhile for him to take people to find the boy from the capital to Lake City. The person he was looking for must be very important. It was probably the first wife's son of the Chu family, Chu Ye, who had an awkward identity.

Thinking of this, Xia Wan couldn't expose the position of the child.

She immediately pretended to be frightened and shrank back into the arms of Li Aizhen.

Li Aizhen nervously protected Xia Wan and interrupted sternly.

"We're just ordinary people. We didn't see anyone! If you harass us again, I'll call the police!"

The man did not give up and looked at the two of them. He still wanted to say something, but at this time, his men, who had finished searching, came forward to report that they did not find the person.

The man looked around before standing up and leaving with his people.

After a long time, Xia Aijun came back with breakfast. After breakfast, Xia Wan held the lollipop left by the man in her seat, took some biscuits and fruits, and went to the water room with the excuse of getting some water.

As expected, she didn't see anyone.

Xia Wan suddenly pushed open the window and looked out. A beautiful boy was curled up under a tarpaulin.

His body was dirty, and he looked pitiful, but his face was angular, his eyebrows were sharp, and his eyes were like those of a young wolf. He stared warily at Xia Wan, who had suddenly appeared, with hostility and arrogance.

The boy looked too young, but Xia Wan still recognized him at a glance. He was Chu Ye, the legitimate son of the Cook family.

She put everything next to him and whispered,

"They're all gone. Here you are. You don't have to hide anymore. I heard that you ran away from home?"

The girl was only seven or eight years old, but her eyes were extremely bright, shining like stars. At this moment, his face was clearly reflected in her eyes.

The boy did not speak.

Xia Wan continued,

"What's the point of running away from home?"

"Children could make a scene and get lost. If there is something wrong, you can complain to those who are more powerful than your parents. We can't suffer any grievances! If we want to do something, we should do something that will give adults a headache! We should fight for what we should fight for and what should be resisted! Fighting for own benefits is right!"

The boy's eyes widened, as if it was the first time he had heard of this kind of rogue theory.

Xia Wan looked at the boy, who was only looking at her obediently, but had a proud and independent temperament. She thought to herself, "No wonder the youngest son of the mistress couldn't defeat him in the end. Chu Ye suddenly became the youngest head of the wealthy circle, and even the adoptive mother of An family wanted to send the daughter to marry him."

Unfortunately, Chu Ye refused the blind date of An family with the excuse of focusing on his career.

Xia Wan was lost in thought. There seemed to be stars falling from the sky in her eyes, which burst out a terrible light. The boy looked at the light and was completely fascinated. His tense body suddenly relaxed a little and he nodded subconsciously.

It was six o'clock in the morning, and the slightly cold air made people shiver.

Xia Wan was about to leave. She stopped and handed him the red scarf on her neck. The bright red scarf blocked in the air and the boy didn't reach for it. Xia Wan had no choice. The little boy straightened his neck and looked straight at her, and said,

"What's your name?"

The voice was so low that Xia Wan didn't got his words before she heard the voice of Li Aizhen coming from the waiting room.

"The bus has arrived, Xiao Wan!"

Xia Wan agreed loudly. She turned her head and hung the scarf in her hand on the windowsill. She ran back to the waiting room in a few steps. Li Aizhen saw that her hand was empty and the scarf around her neck had disappeared. She instantly thought of the group of men in black looking for someone just now.

But she didn't ask any more questions. She tied the scarf around her neck back to Xia Wan. The three members of the Xia family hurried out of the station with bags in various sizes and got on the earliest long-distance bus to Lake City.

The boy straightened up and looked at their backs as they walked away through the window, murmuring,

"Xiao Wan?"

The voice was so soft that it disappeared into the air as soon as it came out from the mouth.
