Chapter 3 "A Cup" Teacher

Jiang Ning spread out the 50 yuan on his face, carefully studied it against the sun for a long time, and carefully stuffed it into his chest pocket.

"Mr. Jiang! I finally found you! I've been waiting for you to cut the ribbon for the urban activities. Have you forgotten again?"

He Yuan was out of breath and hurried forward to greet him.

"I'm not going. I'll go to work later."

"Go to work?"

He Yuan had a headache. Ever since he saw Jiang Ning yesterday, he had noticed that Jiang Ning was moody. Jiang Ning was sometimes happy and sometimes gloomy.

He had never drunk in public, but last night, he was wasted in a bar.

"Where are you going to work? Which listed company hired you? How much is your annual salary? Several million yuan?"

"The monthly salary is 1,800."

Jiang Ning said lightly. He Yuan was still in shock.

"Damn it! Jiang Ning, are you crazy? You just write a program and you can sell it several million yuan?"

"Drawing, not writing a program."

Jiang Ning rubbed his temples and got up lazily.

He Yuan sat there in a daze for five minutes.

Six years ago, Jiang Ning won first place in the provincial art examination, but he refused the invitation of all the top art academies in the country. After the college entrance examination, Jiang Ning selected the advanced computer science major in a science university. It was the cultivation model of straight entrance as an undergraduate-graduate student.

Even though he had entered the university later, the major art universities still kept inviting him.

[I don't want to draw anymore.]

These words cut off all the thoughts of art schools.

Now that he was already one of the best in the computer industry, why would he want to draw again?

"Mr. Jiang, are you drunk? Last month, you went to college as an external teacher to teach students photography. The price of a class is more than that! What's more, even if you haven't painted for six years, you were still the top scorer in the province back then. The salary of 1,800 yuan is too low for you."

He Yuan was confused and didn't understand why Jiang Ning did this.

"What kind of company is this? It's so insulting!"

Jiang Ning lit a cigarette skillfully, but before it could reach his mouth, it was put out.

He opened his mouth slightly, and the corners of his mouth hurt. Su Meng was really ruthless.

It was good that he couldn't smoke. In his impression, Su Meng seemed to have rhinitis and couldn't smell cigarettes.

"Let's go to the No. 24 Middle School."

The campus was really a magical place. No matter how long one had been away or how old one was, as long as one stepped into the campus, one seemed to go back to the days when one was young.

"Su Meng!"

"Hello, Miss Ji."

Su Meng politely lowered her head and greeted him, just like when they first met seven years ago.

"Good girl! I have a morning meeting temporarily, and there will be an intern teacher later. Please help me greet him. The door of the studio is open. They happened to paint in watercolors last night. Take a closer look and help me choose a few talented ones!"

Without waiting for Su Meng to reply, Miss Ji patted Su Meng on the shoulder and left quickly.

"Watercolors..."

Su Meng couldn't hide the joy in her heart. When she pushed open the door of the studio, the smell of water paint mixed with the smell of pencil wood made her feel tempted.

She rotated it over and over again, and her fingers gently stroked every painting. The particles of the dried paint flowed across her fingertips and seeped into her heart.

[Draw a picture! Draw a picture!]

The inkling in her heart urged her to swiftly assemble the canvas, delineate, shade, and sculpt...

She was deeply engrossed in the artwork, oblivious to the tall figure outside the entrance.

Jiang Ning stood outside the door. It was as if he had returned to many years ago, when he had first met her, she was also so serious.

Her watercolors were outstanding, and she was also very pretty. Sometimes when he stared at her paintings for a long time, he would forget whether he was admiring her paintings or her.

Maybe he was drawn to both her paintings and herself.

If it weren't for the mischievous sunlight casting its rays on Su Meng's painting, obscuring her perception of true colors, she might not have spotted Jiang Ning beyond the threshold.

Su Meng's face fell, causing the joy and focus to vanish from her expression.

"Morning, Miss!"

Su Meng pretended not to see him, closed the curtains, and sat back in front of the drawing board.

Jiang Ning was not annoyed. He took the opportunity to sit next to Su Meng and carefully observed her coloring the painting.

"Hey, why don't you go back to your seat and copy a painting by yourself?"

Jiang Ning smiled.

"Miss, you are painting a model painting for free. How can I miss it?"

"Sorry. But I can't draw with you next to me."

Su Meng deliberately made sweeping brush strokes, creating a splash effect, as a way to vent her frustration.

"Miss, why aren't you revealing your process of crafting a model painting to the public?"

Su Meng found herself unable to argue with him, and her thoughts were in disarray. Naturally, she made a mistake when she ended up highlighting the character's pupils.

As Su Meng glanced at the somewhat obtrusive highlights, she turned around with resentment. In the midst of preparing to reprimand Jiang Ning, her attention shifted to the vivid red teeth marks imprinted on Jiang Ning's shoulder. Overwhelmed with guilt, Su Meng hurriedly made her way towards the pool.

When she turned around once more, Jiang Ning had already covered the obtrusive highlights with the paint brush. Her entire masterpiece was flawlessly showcased.

Su Meng's eyes brightened, and she couldn't resist praising him.

"Your painting skill..."

[Knock, knock, knock!]

Su Meng was interrupted by a knock on the door, and she was the only one who diverted her attention towards it.

"Hey, you two must be the new interns, right?"

[You Two? Was Jiang Ning the other intern?]

Su Meng looked at Jiang Ning in surprise. However, Jiang Ning pretended not to hear the teacher's voice outside the door and continued to perfect Su Meng's painting.

The cynical grin vanished from his face, replaced by a rigid and disapproving countenance.

"Ah... Yes, we are."

Su Meng braced herself to answer on behalf of Jiang Ning.

"You need to be more diligent. Quickly clean the house and empty the garbage for me!"

"Okay, teacher."

Su Meng was about to take the garbage from the teacher when she was stopped by Jiang Ning.

"Go back to your painting. I'll do this."

"It's okay. I will go with you."

"No need. Just finish your painting."

Jiang Ning cast a chilling gaze at Su Meng, his voice carrying an unmistakable air of authority.

"Be quick. I still have something to do!"

The teacher standing at the entrance urged them, but Jiang Ning stubbornly crossed his arms over his chest, showing no intention of picking up the garbage.

"Who are you?"

"I am, undoubtedly, a teacher in this school!"

"I don't know you."

Jiang Ning closed the door of the studio. The teacher outside the door pointed angrily at the door and scolded,

"Hey! What do you mean by that? You shouldn't behave so impolitely! Don't you understand the importance of showing respect to your seniors!"

Ji Yun, who hurriedly arrived, hurriedly tried to mediate and calm down the teacher's emotions.

"Mr. Wang, come on. Don't be angry. Children don't know any better!"

"No, Ji Yun, don't try to persuade me! Look at the exceptional intern you have mentored! I must tell Director Zhao and let him judge!"

Ji Yun helplessly watched the teacher's back as he walked away. She pushed the door open and entered the studio.

Su Meng quickly went up to Ji Yun and asked if she should apologize to the teacher.

"There's no need to apologize. You're not wrong. It's okay. She just went to complain to Jiang Ning's aunt!"
