Chapter 7 He Was Quite Annoyed

In the early morning, the park benches were imbued with a refreshing coolness carried over from the previous summer night.

As soon as Su Meng sat down and took a breath, the bike fell under the weight of her luggage, crashing to the ground with a resounding thud.

She saw deformed bike tires, and scattered sundries.

Su Meng sat there in a daze, staring blankly at the mess on the ground for a long time.

Like a walking corpse, she packed up her luggage on the ground.

As the motorcycle made a sharp turn, the dust billowed and seeped into Su Meng's already opened suitcase, staining the few pieces of clothing a dull gray.

Jiang Ning didn't mean to do that. He just applied the brakes a bit too abruptly.

He didn't expect to meet Su Meng in the park so early. Logically speaking, she should have appeared half an hour later.

"I'm sorry..."

Without giving him a chance to apologize, Su Meng raised her head and glared at him angrily. Her eyes were bloodshot and tears began to well up.

When their eyes met, Jiang Ning panicked for a moment. His heart was in turmoil and he felt a little upset.

Su Meng glared at Jiang Ning, feeling utterly unfortunate to have encountered such an insufferable nuisance after being forced to leave.

Jiang Ning sized Su Meng up carefully for a few seconds and couldn't help but grin.

It was rare to see such a scene. He was used to seeing Su Meng being bullied in front of others, but now she was akin to a fierce tiger ready to devour its prey!

Su Meng was even more annoyed. How could there be such an annoying person in the world? Not only did he not know that he had caused harm to others, but he even snickered!

Su Meng randomly packed up her things, quickly pulled up her suitcase, and pushed the deformed bike away.

Jiang Ning's mouth lifted up a beautiful curve again, and he snatched Su Meng's suitcase and hooked it onto his own motorcycle.

"What are you doing!"

Su Meng didn't want to get too involved with him, she just wanted to retrieve her own luggage.

Jiang Ning deliberately propped half of his body on the suitcase and sized up Su Meng, as if scrutinizing his own belongings.

The smile on his face widened.

Su Meng exerted all her strength to retrieve her suitcase, yet it remained immobile beneath Jiang Ning's weight.

"What is the matter with you, Jiang Ning!"

Su Meng questioned him angrily.

Jiang Ning, adopting a cynical demeanor, tilted his chin and raised an eyebrow as he glanced at the dysfunctional bicycle not far away, asking,

"There's a garage ahead. Would you like to go there?"

"You don't have to worry about it. I know the way! Give me my suitcase!"

Jiang Ning skillfully fastened the suitcase to his car, picked up the bicycle with one hand, and quickly walked to the garage.

"Jiang Ning!"

Su Meng trotted behind him. No matter how unwilling she was, she seemed to be unable to change his mind.

The garage tech had just gotten to work and was idly fiddling with his tools.

He lit a cigarette, pushed up his old glasses, and said slowly,

"Do you want to sell this bike for scrap?"

"No, no, no. I want to fix it!"

Su Meng waved her hand repeatedly, for fear that the tech would decompose her bike in the next second.

"Fix it?"

The old man raised his eyes and glanced at the two people in front of him. The man exuded an aura of radiance and charm, while the lady looked impoverished.

"Girl, the tire axle of your bike is broken. It will cost 500 yuan to repair and replace the tire!"

"Five hundred yuan? Dude, you're ripping me off! How about 50 yuan?"

[Your Alipay account has received a transfer of 500 yuan.]

"Hey, buddy, make sure you fix it. I'll pick it up tonight."

Jiang Ning disregarded Su Meng's objections as he settled the bill and dragged Su Meng away.

"Jiang Ning, are you out of your mind? He's asking for a sky-high price!"

"He is fixing the bike for you, not me. Therefore, he is exerting pressure on you rather than me. Could it be..." Jiang Ning halted his steps, turned around, and fixed his gaze upon Su Meng's indignant face, smirking, "Could it be that you have no intention of compensating me, Miss?"

"I will pay you back!"

"Deal! I won't pressure you. Just pay me back when you get your salary."

"You!"

Su Meng wanted to smash Jiang Ning on the ground with a hammer to vent her anger. Had she been had?

By around six o'clock, the sun's rays had gained intensity, resulting in the motorcycle seat becoming slightly heated.

Jiang Ning stepped on the motorcycle, handed Su Meng a spare helmet, and turned his head to signal her to get on.

Noticing Su Meng's hesitation, Jiang Ning retrieved the helmet in his hand.

"Since you refuse to take a seat, let's forget it then. It is already past six o'clock. It will take you at least an hour and a half to walk from here to school. I will be waiting for you at the school gate, anticipating your tardiness, Miss!"

"I am not talking about not riding your motorcycle!"

Jiang Ning beckoned her with a crooked finger, signaling for her to approach so that he could assist in securing her helmet.

"I'll do it myself."

Su Meng took the helmet and struggled to put it on properly for a long time, but she failed. In the end, she could only awkwardly hand it back to Jiang Ning.

The helmet emitted a subtle lemony scent. When Su Meng wore it, it fit perfectly, much to her surprise.

As the motorcycle sped along the road, the spacious back seat was occupied by the suitcase. Su Meng clung to the back of Jiang Ning, not knowing where to put her hands.

"Don't move!"

"What?"

"Do not move!"

Jiang Ning was forced to park the car by the side of the road. He turned his head, lifted their masks, and said seriously, "I said don't move!"

"Oh, okay."

Su Meng wasn't sure if it was her imagination, but she caught a glimpse of Jiang Ning's face turning slightly flushed.

It was only normal because this helmet was really stuffy.

"Mr. Jiang. Mr. Jiang?"

Jiang Ning stared at the palette for a long time while he was changing his painting. It was not until the student behind him shouted several times that he came to his senses.

"What's wrong?"

"Mr. Jiang, what are you thinking about?"

The student standing behind Jiang Ning was Xiao Hua, the same person who had teased Su Meng yesterday.

"Are you thinking about Miss Su? I saw you and Miss Su enter the school together this morning with a suitcase. Could it be that you..."

[Thud!]

Jiang Ning dropped the brush in his hand into the bucket and looked coldly at Xiao Hua.

"If you have time to gossip, why don't you improve your drawing skills. That way, you can choose any seat in Class A!"

Jiang Ning got up and handed the drawing plate to him grumpily. As he turned around, he did not forget to assign Xiao Hua the task of creating two watercolor paintings and submitting them to him by tomorrow morning.

In the corner of the playground, Jiang Ning instinctively lit a cigarette, but just as he was about to smoke it, he snuffed it out.

He was extremely annoyed. Maybe it was due to Su Meng's bloodshot eyes, or perhaps it was because she was standing alone, burdened with her luggage, exuding a sense of loneliness...

Maybe it was because she was lying next to him today and he could feel her soft, tantalizing breasts...

[No matter what the reason was, it was evident that the silly woman was suppressing her anger once more. She abruptly moved out without considering a way out.]

After walking around for a while, Jiang Ning called He Yuan.

"What can I do for you, Mr. Jiang?"

"Are you free? Help me organize a camping event."

"Sure, when and how many people?"

"Tonight, you can choose the number of attendees. Just make sure not to invite too many people. I'll take one more person with me."

He Yuan on the other end of the phone was stunned for a long time before he came to his senses.

"Tonight? You're taking another person with you? A man or a woman?"

"Help me prepare two tents."

Before He Yuan could continue to gossip, Jiang Ning had already hung up the phone.
