Chapter 6 Going out to Find out Information and Encountering A Patient

Tang Yingying glanced at the servants coldly and shouted, "Get out of here!"

Several servants ran away in a hurry.

Tang Yingying looked at Xiaomei with a smile and asked, "Are you willing to serve me?"

She lacked a maidservant who could help her leave the residence and take care of her daily life.

Xiaomei was an unfavored maidservant. She usually did odd jobs and was often bullied by other servants.

Hearing this, she was naturally willing to do so. Although she didn't have a good life with the Princess, at least she wouldn't be bullied every day like before.

Tang Yingying helped Xiaomei up and brought her back to her courtyard, preparing to leave the mansion tomorrow.

She didn't have much money, nor did she have any dowry.

The dowry had originally belonged to Tang Rou. After the Tang family had designed the Substitute Marriage, they had casually left some of the dowry for her and carried the rest back.

Sooner or later, she would get back all her dowry, including her original mother's.

The next morning.

Wearing a veiled hat, Tang Yingying sneaked out of the Prince Regent's Residence from the back door with her maidservant, Xiaomei, under the escort of Dahua. They headed straight for the street.

When they arrived at the street, the master and her maid strolled leisurely.

"Miss Tang, what do you want to buy?" Xiaomei held Tang Yingying and looked around while paying attention to the surroundings.

It was so lively.

Tang Yingying looked around the bustling street.

There were many shops on the street, and vendors could be seen everywhere. All kinds of people were chatting loudly. Carriages, donkey carts, or ox carts could be seen from time to time.

There was a fragrance in the air, which made people's stomachs growl.

In the distance, there was a towering city wall. Looking from afar, it conveyed a feeling of ancientness and majesty.

Tang Yingying noticed that there were a few beggars sitting on the street in groups of twos and threes, begging passers-by.

Seeing this, a thought flashed through her mind and she quickly walked to the beggars.

There were both men and women among these beggars. The leader leaned against the wall calmly, while the others begged the passers-by.

"Can you help me?" Tang Yingying asked directly.

The leader of the beggars glanced at Tang Yingying.

The woman was wearing a light green dress and a veiled hat, and her face could not be seen clearly. She had an excellent figure and an elegant and noble temperament, implying that she was not easy to deal with.

It was obvious that he was from a rich family.

"It depends on what it is. Different things have different prices." His attitude was lazy, and he was not surprised by the fact that Tang Yingying had a different identity.

Tang Yingying gave him an ingot of silver with cold eyes. "I want to know everything about the master of Tang family."

The leader of the beggars stretched out five fingers. "No bargain."

Tang Yingying gave another ingot of silver. "The remaining three will be delivered when the goods are delivered."

The beggar weighed the silver in his hand and joked, "Aren't you afraid that I won't admit it after receiving the money?"

Tang Yingying looked at him indifferently and said unhurriedly, "You won't ruin your reputation."

The beggar only felt that his scalp was numb, and he knew that this woman was not to be trifled with, so he did not dare to neglect her. "Don't worry, you can come back in three days, and I will keep the news for you."

Tang Yingying knew that these beggars formed a group and had their own connections and resources. They would not do anything stupid that would damage their reputation.

Even if the beggar really took her money, she had a way to make him spit it out.

"Alright."

She went to a nearby restaurant with Xiaomei and sat in a corner of the lobby, collecting all kinds of information while eating.

She knew too little about this era.

She had to find out more about the Tang family before she could break away from the Prince Regent's Residence, take revenge for her real body and her mother, and settle with the Tang family.

"Haven't you heard? Tang Rou was sad because of the Substitute Marriage of the legitimate daughter of Tang family. Tang Rou is so kind to her."

"A Substitute Marriage? No, is this legitimate daughter is so capable? This marriage was arranged by His Majesty. Isn't Tang family afraid of being beheaded?"

"Tang Yingying is the ugliest woman in the world. I heard that she set up a Substitute Marriage to step on Tang Rou."

"Hey, hey, hey, this is outdated. Have you heard that King Jin and King Cheng are interested in proposing marriage to Tang Rou and want to take her as their legal wife."

Hearing this, Tang Yingying pricked up her ears. King Cheng and King Jin wanted to marry Tang Rou?

This was interesting.

The diners' attention was immediately attracted to this matter.

"I've also heard of her. Tang Rou is the most beautiful woman in the world. She is talented and gentle. She naturally deserves to be the legal wife."

"In the past, Tang Rou did a lot of good deeds, unlike Tang Yingying, who always made trouble and thought very highly of herself."

"Have you forgotten that Tang Rou is a daughter of a concubine? How can she be the legal wife? A daughter of a concubine, not the daughter of the legal wife! Tang Yingying is at least the legitimate daughter of the legal wife."

A chivalrous young man bent one leg and threw a peanut into his mouth. "A legitimate daughter is superior to the daughter of a concubine. Besides, I heard that Tang Yingying's life in Tang family is even worse than that of a servant, but Tang Rou is as noble as a legitimate daughter."

"How can you flatter such an unruly member of the Tang family?"

Tang Yingying looked at the man in surprise, and didn't expect that someone would say something bad about Tang Rou.

Tang Rou was good at pretending, so she had a good reputation. No one would mention the matter of her being the daughter of a concubine, and everyone would flatter her.

Who was this person?

If she could make friends with him, it might be good for her.

The diners looked at each other, and realized the fact that Tang Rou was the daughter of a concubine. No matter how outstanding she was, a daughter of the concubine was not qualified to be the wife of the Prince Regent.

"Who are you?"

A young scholar pointed angrily at the man. "How dare you slander Tang Rou in public! It is true that she is the daughter of a concubine, but she is much kinder than the vicious Tang Yingying."

"If it weren't for Tang Yingying's Substitute Marriage, Tang Rou would have been the wife of the Prince Regent."

The man glanced at the scholar with disdain and sneered, "Oh, the admirer of Tang Rou."

Seeing that the scholar blushed, he continued, "Tang Yingying is an unfavored legitimate daughter, but she was able to substitute Tang Rou and marry the Prince Regent on the wedding day. How impressive she is!"

"Besides, a concubine's daughter is always a concubine's daughter. No matter how outstanding she is, she can't forget the superiority of the legitimate daughter. As a scholar, have you forgotten all the etiquette and rules?"

His words were too harsh. Under the strange gazes of the people around him, the scholar covered his face and fled.

After that, everyone felt that Tang Rou was not so good. She was just a daughter of a concubine. No matter how outstanding she was, she was still a daughter of a concubine after all.

Then, the diners talked about the hostile relationship between the Prince Regent and others, such as how cruel the Prince Regent was and how he killed the officials, how bad his relationship with his parents and younger brother was, and how he wanted to kill his parents and brother.

This news made Tang Yingying stop thinking about keeping up with the man. As far as she knew, Mo Chen and his brother were twins, but his mother didn't like Mo Chen and only doted on his brother.

Listening to the diners talking about Prince Regent's Residence, Tang family, Mo Chen's parents, and some gossip, Tang Yingying had a real understanding of this era and the situation she was facing.

After hearing the news in the restaurant, Tang Yingying ran to the teahouse to get the news. Then she walked around on the street, learning about the situation in this time and space while buying the medicinal materials she needed in the pharmacy.

By the way, he also learned about the medicinal materials, the price of the medicine, the treatment, and so on in this time and space.

With a rough understanding of the situation, Tang Yingying had a clearer direction.

Next, before leaving the Prince Regent's Residence, she would deal with the Tang family.

Without the backing of the Prince Regent's Residence, it would be almost impossible for her to deal with the Tang family.

While she was walking, she suddenly heard a cry of surprise.

"Master, what's wrong with you?"

The voice sounded a little shrill, like a man's, but not as rough as a man's.

Just as Tang Yingying, with the benevolence of a doctor, was about to go over and take a look at the situation, a middle-aged man rushed up to her and asked in a panic.

"Miss, do you know where a clinic is nearby?"

The middle-aged man wore fine silk clothes, with a valuable piece of warm white jade hanging from his waist. His hands were delicate, and apparently he came from an official family.

Tang Yingying could tell that this person's identity was not simple, but her expression was calm, and she softened her voice, "I am a doctor."

"If you believe me, I can help with the treatment. The clinic is far away from here, and it may delay the treatment when you get there. Why don't you let me try?"

The middle-aged man looked at her suspiciously and did not believe her at all, "Miss, please don't joke now. It's a matter of life and death."

Tang Yingying said no more words and pointed in the direction of the clinic. "It will take you at least 15 minutes to get there."

"Thank you!" The middle-aged man ran toward the clinic as fast as he could.

Tang Yingying entered the alley with Xiaomei but was stopped by a guard with a knife in his hand.

She glanced at the old man lying on the leg of a servant.

The old man's face was pale, and he was covered in cold sweat. His lips kept trembling, and his eyes kept rolling.

But from a distance, she could still feel the terrifying aura of the old man. Even she did not dare to approach him easily.

"I'm a doctor. Can I have a try?"

Tang Yingying was a little worried, and she elegantly and calmly asked the middle-aged man who was kneeling on the ground.

The middle-aged man looked at Tang Yingying in surprise and vigilance.

That glance was extremely sharp, like a knife cutting through Tang Yingying. This made her even more certain that these people were not from an ordinary official family.

"Is your master suddenly feeling unwell and in a coma? Is he sweating profusely and trembling as if he's having a stroke?"

Tang Yingying slowly explained the old man's condition and said firmly, "If he doesn't get treated in time, even if a doctor is found later, there will be sequelae."

"Why don't you let me try? What if I save your master?"

The middle-aged man did not believe Tang Yingying and motioned for the guard to drive them away.

The guard pulled out his knife and said with a fierce look, "Leave!"

Tang Yingying stepped back a few steps with Xiaomei and did not leave.

If she left, something major would happen to the old man.

Indeed, very soon, the old man struggled violently, and traces of foam appeared at the corners of his mouth.

"Master, Master?" The middle-aged man was a little flustered, but he was still calm. "Hurry up and call the doctor over."
