Chapter 7 Set Up A Positive Image

It was Monday afternoon when she saw Ivy again.

She came back with a work card in her hand, and her makeup was not as delicate as when she joined the company the first day.

At this time, Wen Ran was about to take a lunch break. She looked at Ivy, who had just returned, and asked politely, "Have you eaten yet?"

Ivy looked at Wen Ran and shook her head. "Would you like a cup of coffee?"

???

Wen Ran was still wondering if she should ask her to go with her, but Ivy had already pointed at the door. "Let's go."

Because it was lunch break, there were not many people in the cafe on the second floor.

Wen Ran and Ivy sat in the corner, as if they wanted to whisper something.

Ivy did have this goal. She looked at Wen Ran and whispered, "Do you know that Xu Yuling and Wu Yunshan used to have a good relationship, like a mentor and a friend?"

Wen Ran shook her head and didn't know.

She was a little sleepy, the corners of her eyes drooped, and her eyes were dull.

Ivy had already guessed that Wen Ran wouldn't know anything. Ivy only felt that Wen Ran really looked pitiful when she saw her current fragile and helpless look.

Ivy calmed herself down and smoothed out her current dangerous situation for Wen Ran. " Wen Ran, there are three chief designers in our department, led by three teams respectively. You should know this, right?"

Wen Ran nodded.

Although she had been invisible for a week, she still had a general idea of the situation.

In addition to the independent Watch Design Department, the Counter Product Design Department, and the Haute Couture Design Department.

There were three teams in the Counter Product Design Department where Wen Ran worked, led by three chief designers.

The chief designer of Group 1 was Chen Xing, and the chief designer of Group 3 was Wang Xuyang.

Ivy snorted. "I heard that Wu Yunshan became the temporary design director of the Counter Product Design Department. Not only did she quickly distance herself from Xu Yuling, but also she had done much of Xu Yuling's firing."

Wen Ran had never heard of it.

Ivy said, "Wu Yunshan acts according to circumstances. Now few people in the department obey her."

Wen Ran could see that the chief designers, Chen Xing and Wang Xuyang, were unhappy whenever they came out of Wu Yunshan's office.

Ivy said, "We're in the most hopeless group."

Wen Ran nodded and slowly poured the milk into the hot chocolate.

Seeing that she didn't seem to be listening carefully, Ivy frowned and raised her voice. "What are you doing?"

"Ah???" Wen Ran cried in surprise and explained, "I don't like it to be too sweet, so I diluted it with milk."

Hearing what Wen Ran said, Ivy was stunned and then angry. "I'm talking about something serious. Are you listening to me?"

"Yes." Wen Ran nodded, looked at Ivy seriously, and repeated, "You said that our team has the least future."

Only then did Ivy feel satisfied. She slightly restrained her anger and said, "Maybe it's because Xu Yuling recruited us herself, and Wu Yunshan estranged us, so she arranged for us to be in the same group."

Having learned her lesson, Wen Ran immediately replied when Ivy finished speaking, "Understood."

She looked so well-behaved.

Ivy took a deep breath and said in a softer tone, "I heard from my colleagues that you sit there obediently every day and get off work on time, right?"

Wen Ran didn't know where Ivy had heard of it, but she nodded honestly.

"Wen Ran, you have to understand that only big companies like Carlyle, which stand at the top of the industry, will recruit designers with their works. Except for Carlyle, no company dares to employ designer without authorization and experiences. Do you understand?"

"...I understand."

Academic qualifications are the key to success.

No matter how capable one was, no one could employ a person without a beautiful resume.

After all, in a society with fast paces, efficiency was a necessity.

Compared to others, Wen Ran was lucky to have a good birth, so her educational background became less critical.

But she was no longer the last disciple of Bai Weiliang, Cynthia, but a jewelry designer at the bottom of the industry, Wen Ran.

She understood all of this.

Ivy said, "So, you must seize this opportunity to pass the internship period."

Past the internship period?

Didn't that mean...

"If not past..." Wen Ran shook her hand, and the milk slid down the edge of the glass. Her eyes widened a little, filled with obvious worry. "Will I be fired?"

Ivy pulled out a tissue and placed it beside the milk cup. "Now you're anxious?"

Wen Ran frowned slightly and asked, "Is there any assessment standard for passing the internship period?"

"As far as I know, Chen Xing, the chief designer of our team, has the most important part of the score."

Wen Ran frowned even more tightly.

Ivy did not intend to scare her. "Well, it may not be too late now."

"It's not too late." Wen Ran asked humbly, "Then what should I do?"

"First of all, you have to get along well with the seniors in the group. You are not an independent designer. It's not good for you to be alone. Then, you can't just sit around and do nothing. If you have nothing to do, you should take the initiative to fight for something. You have to make others feel that you are very active."

Wen Ran nodded and felt that what Ivy said made sense. "What should I do to get along with the seniors better?"

Ivy tilted her head and looked at the coffee bar counter, raising her eyebrows meaningfully.

Wen Ran nodded. "Got it."

At the end of the lunch break, Wen Ran handed the coffee to every senior in the group.

In the end, she took the coffee to Chen Xing's Office.

Chen Xing was still young.

In terms of makeup, she was cool.

Wen Ran handed her a cup of coffee and said, "Ms. Chen, you might feel sleepy in summer. Have a cup of coffee to refresh yourself."

"Thank you." Chen Xing was a little surprised. He looked at Wen Ran and asked, "Is there anything else?"

Wen Ran handed over a stack of design drawings and said, "I didn't receive a task last week, so I drew some drafts in my spare time. If you're free, please give me some advice."

Wen Ran thought that such an explanation should be able to restore her image and become more positive.

"You don't have to." Chen Xing took a sip of coffee and looked at the drawing in Wen Ran's hand. She remembered her impressive self-introduction. "Don't you know how to draw a sketch?"

Wen Ran could draw it.

Wen Ran said, "Compared to that, I prefer to draw on paper."

Chen Xing's expression was unreadable, and he glanced at the desk and said, "Put it there. I'll look at them when I'm free."

Wen Ran nodded, put them on the desk, and said euphemistically, "Miss Chen, no matter what arrangements you make, I can cooperate with you."

"Yes."

Seeing that she was silent, Wen Ran sensibly planned to leave.

When she turned around, Chen Xing told her to practice sketching on a board more.

Wen Ran nodded in agreement.

When Wen Ran returned to her desk, she saw her colleagues drawing draft design and discussing in a low voice.

Except for the slightly stronger coffee fragrance than usual, there seemed to be nothing different in the office.

As soon as Wen Ran sat down, Ivy approached her.

"I'll add you to the group chat."

Wen Ran's phone vibrated before she could figure out what group chat it was.

She opened it and saw that Ivy had invited her into a group chat called "Workers Don't Sleep."

The members of this group were all colleagues in Group 1.

Wen Ran looked at Ivy.

Ivy said in a low voice, "Actually, we're all ordinary workers. What hostility do we have? We're just a group. We have to take the initiative to integrate into the group later."

Wen Ran nodded at the coffee cup on the table, so coffee was the stepping stone to the group chat.

Ivy moved closer to her. "Don't talk nonsense in the group chat. You should know that people may hide their really thoughts from others. It's common for three people to have three groups."

Wen Ran paused for a moment and nodded.

She suddenly remembered that her teacher and senior brother had once told her that she should only focus on design when she entered the company in the future. She did not have to worry about anything else.

At that time, she didn't understand. After all, what could a designer do besides designing? What else could she be worried about?

So that's how it was.

Wen Ran suddenly rejoiced in her trip out.

Ivy stood up and packed her bags. "I still have to go to the counter. Bye."

Wen Ran thanked Ivy from the bottom of her heart.

Wen Ran said, "I'll treat you to dinner when you return."

Ivy did not put on airs. "Ok."

After Ivy left, it was quiet around Wen Ran again.

Occasionally, her phone would vibrate. Wen Ran picked it up and saw that it was her colleagues complaining in the group chat.

Her colleague A: [Is Mrs. Wong crazy?]

Her colleague B: [Why doesn't she send it to the raw gemstone venue?]

Her colleague A: ["I don't want to receive her tomorrow. Why don't I ask for a sick leave?"]

C: [Don't do that. Pick your burden.]

...

Wen Ran couldn't figure out what had happened, but she probably knew Mrs. Wong will come tomorrow. Mrs. Wong was a problematic client whose colleagues wanted to avoid receiving her.

The next day, before Wen Ran could sit down after putting down her bag, Chen Xing came out of the office and said, "Come in, Wen Ran."

Wen Ran immediately went over.

Sitting on the chair, Chen Xing tapped on the album and asked, "Did you draw this in a week?"

Wen Ran nodded. "Yes."

Chen Xing leaned back and said, "I remember that you haven't been to a professional school, have you?"

"Yes."

"Where did you learn all this?"

Wen Ran replied calmly, "I learned it from an old teacher."

Chen Xing didn't say anything. She sized Wen Ran up with sharp eyes and then curled her lips. "I see. You're quite talented."

Wen Ran looked calm on the surface, but her palms were sweating.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the office door.

Chen Xing looked away and said, "Please come in."

A male colleague came in and looked like he was in trouble. "Ms. Chen, Mrs. Wong is here, but..."

The male colleague swallowed and said, "Li Wan hasn't come yet, and she didn't answer the phone."

"Have she arranged it in advance?" Chen Xing asked impatiently.

"No." The male colleague breathed a sigh of relief. "Ms. Chen."

"What's the matter."

The male colleague said, "Mr. Yan is in the exhibition hall."

Chen Xing paused for a moment before standing up and walking out. She passed by Wen Ran quickly.

Wen Ran followed her out of the office and heard Chen Xing ask, "Who's free?"

No one answered.

Wen Ran seized the opportunity and took two steps forward. "Ms. Chen, I'm free."

Chen Xing glanced at Wen Ran. "Follow me."

Wen Ran had only been to the cafe on the second floor. This was the first time she had entered the exhibition hall of the Carlyle company.

The exhibition hall was very large. The color of the lights and the setting of each section could show the most perfect visual effect of jewelry.

There was a dazzling array of jewelry designs, but Wen Ran didn't have time to look at them and followed Ms. Chen in. That was the customer reception hall.

From a distance, Wen Ran saw Yan Wangshu sitting on the sofa. A lady was sitting opposite him, as if they were chatting.

Chen Xing walked fast in her high heels, and Wen Ran followed.

Wen Ran rarely exercised, so her heart was beating very fast.

No one knew if it was because she was running or because Yan Wangshu suddenly looked over.

Chen Xing slowed down her pace. By the time she reached Yan Wangshu, she was already calm and composed.

She nodded slightly and said, "Good morning, Mr. Yan, Mrs. Wong."

Mrs. Wong was a little fat, sitting on the sofa with a tiny top hat on her head. She didn't look back. "Is it still early? Mr. Yan and I have been talking for a long time."

Chen Xing looked embarrassed.

Yan Wangshu slowly buttoned up his cufflinks like an outsider and stood up. "Mrs. Wong, excuse me."

He had an attitude that they had to solve their own problems.
