Chapter 1 Why Is the Child out of Breath?

In a mental hospital of South City.

Song Zhiyi lay on the shabby operating table with a big belly and a pale face.

She had been giving birth for a long time, and her consciousness was getting weaker and weaker, but the medical staff who delivered the baby sat indifferently and played with their mobile phones, not caring about her life.

"Are you really not going to save her? After all, she is also the second daughter of Song family." A young nurse said with worry.

"Don't worry, she is just a daughter adopted by Song family. In their eyes, she is just a despicable woman. Her elder sister has told us to just keep the child alive and let her die. Let's control the time and give her an oxytocin injection later."

Their discussion reached Song Zhiyi's ears without missing a word.

Her face was pale and her heart was full of doubts.

Ten months ago, she was about to get married, but just before getting the marriage certificate, her boyfriend disappeared.

She searched all over the city like a lunatic, but couldn't find any trace in any way. It was as if he whom she had met and fell in love with a year ago was all her fantasy!

Song family even told others that she was mentally ill and that the man was a figment and did not exist at all.

In order to "treat" her, Song family imprisoned her in this remote mental hospital!

There was a child in her belly, which was the only evidence that he had existed.

After a contraction, Song Zhiyi tried her best to let the baby out of her body.

"She gave birth?"

"Hurry up and pick up the baby."

"Wait, why is this child out of breath?"

Six years later in the South City International Airport.

Song Zhiyi was wearing a black suit and a pair of rimless glasses on her nose. She has subdued the beauty while added some outstanding professional elite atmosphere around her. She looked bright and agile.

After six years, she set foot on this land again and found that she still couldn't stop the pain in her heart.

Those years she spent with Song family and the murdered child left indelible scars deep in her heart.

After so many years, as she delivered more and more babies, her hatred towards the Song family grew stronger and stronger.

She walked out of the airport dragging her luggage. When she looked up, she saw a familiar figure.

The figure she saw stood expressionlessly in the center of the crowd wearing a pair of black suit trousers without a single wrinkle. With an air of cold indifference, he listened to the people around him talk. Now and then, he responded with a nod.

"Jinyan..."

Song Zhiyi could not help but call out the man's name. Then she dropped the luggage in her hands and strode forward. Her almond-shaped eyes filled with excitement and tears and the rims of her bright eyes were red.

She strode forward, and to everyone's surprise, she threw herself into the man's arms. She tightened her arms around his waist with tears of grievances welling up in her eyes.

"Where have you been all these years?"

"I've been looking for you for so long..."

Before she could pour out her grievances, she was quickly drawn away by the man's followers.

"Sorry, Mr. Gu. We didn't do our job well."

His underlings held their heads down in fear and didn't have the nerve to look at Gu Jinyan's face.

Gu Jinyan frowned and lowered his eyes to straighten his shirt that had been rumpled by Song Zhiyi. The disgust in the corners of his eyes and brows couldn't be concealed.

Song Zhiyi was stunned. Looking at the man's cold eyes and his strange countenance, for a moment, she almost thought she had made a mistake.

But...

She was sure that there was no mistaking his appearance, his facial features and the person he was.

He was Jinyan, her boyfriend who had been missing for six years.
