Chapter 5 Great Sadness In Desperate

Jiang Yanyan pursed her lips, which had been smeared with a bright red color. "Wen Shu, you're back! This lipstick is so beautiful! Can you give it to me?" She was asking, but she had already put it directly into her pocket.

"How did you get in? Put it down!"

"I asked her to come! Don't yell at your sister!" A woman in a knitted gown came over. Lin Su touched the head of Jiang Yanyan with love and turned her face to Wen Shu with a fierce look. There was a bit of anger in her eyes. "I just want to see, you have married into the Qin family, and you are not even willing to give a little pocket money to your sister."

"She's not your biological daughter!"

"Slap-" Lin Su slapped her like an enraged female beast. "How dare you say that to Yanyan? If it weren't for her mother..."

However, she was her daughter! Jiang Yanyan's mother was Lin Su's younger sister. Back then, when the village flooded, she saved Lin Su and lost her life. In order to protect Jiang Yanyan from her alcoholic father, Lin Su brought Jiang Yanyan over and treated Jiang Yanyan as her own daughter.

She had repeatedly asked Wen Shu to treat Jiang Yanyan well. No matter how hard Wen Shu tried, she couldn't see it. But as long as Jiang Yanyan did something well, she was an angel...

Year after year, she was tired of watching...

Out of respect for her mother, Wen Shu gave her a spare key. But now, she was given a chance to blame Wen Shu.

Jiang Yanyan was stunned. She lowered her head and carefully pulled Lin Su's clothes. She took off the mask. "Aunt, don't cry..."

Lin Su hugged Jiang Yanyan and choked with sobs.

In winter, the cold wind blew. She stood at the door and watched her mother crying with someone else's daughter in her arms. She was the "culprit" who had hurt them. The lights in the room pushed her shadow out of the door, keeping her out of the light.

She only deserved to stand in the shadows and survive...

"Wen Shu." An impatient voice sounded behind her.

Wen Shu turned around in a daze. Qin Mingyue did not go to work today, nor did he wear a formal suit. He was dressed casually in a simple white sweater, just like the young man who had barged into her dreams and become the obsession of her half life.

Qin Mingyue looked into her eyes. The rims of her eyes were red, but she stubbornly refused to shed a single tear. He frowned and emphasized, "It's Grandma that she asks me to pick you up."

"Mingyue, you're here." Hearing the voice, Jiang Yanyan immediately laughed. Her voice was crisp and sweet. Her face was slightly red, and her eyes kept blinking in that direction.

Lin Su also saw the man at the door. She restrained her emotions and also smiled. "Mr. Qin, you are here. Please come in!"

Wen Shu didn't want to stay any longer, so she immediately interrupted them and replied, "No need. Let's go."

Logically speaking, since Wen Shu was so sensible, he should have taken her away.

But at this moment, Qin Mingyue turned his head and sized up the two women in the room. He said in surprise, "The master has left and is about to lock the door. Are you still not leaving."

Wen Shu looked at the man in front of her. His words were gentle but extremely sarcastic.

"Mingyue..." Jiang Yanyan wanted to refute.

"You've called me twice. I remember that Wen Shu is the only child. When I got married, I saw her household register. She doesn't have a younger sister." Qin Mingyue chuckled. He was just stating the facts, but it was as if he was saying that she was trying to build a relationship with him.

Jiang Yanyan blushed and pulled Lin Su away. "Mr... Mr. Qin, let's go."

"Wait, Mom, give me the key!" Wen Shu suddenly reached out to stop them. "This is my house."

Lin Su had never been humiliated like this before. She said angrily, "I'm your mother!"

Wen Shu didn't say a word or move her hand.

Qin Mingyue pondered for a moment. "You two should leave the key behind. I'm worried that you won't be able to afford to pay for the things that were lost in the house." Others said this was incredible probably. But in the Qin family, anything slipped through the gaps between their fingers was valuable.

Ye Su took out the key from her pocket and threw it in the hands of Wen Shu before she escorted Jiang Yanyan away.

Wen Shu waited until the "mother and daughter" were out of sight before she closed the door and quietly followed Qin Mingyue out.

After getting in the car, she leaned back in the back seat and stared blankly at the scenery outside the window.

"You're not so spineless in front of those reporters. How dare you make up stories about me?" Qin Mingyue saw that she was not in a good mood and felt a little annoyed. He said sarcastically, "But when you got home, you were bullied by such a little girl."

"Mr. Qin, you don't have to worry. I won't make a mistake in front of grandma." Wen Shu didn't move and still looked at the lights outside the window. The night view was moving. He might have forgotten who she was...

"Have you heard of a saying, Qin Mingyue," she said suddenly.

"Unlucky childhood needs to be cured with one's whole life."

There was a long silence in the car. Qin Mingyue sneered and said in a gloomy and sarcastic voice, "So this is the reason why you hurt people? Why did you blame others for your misfortune? What did Zhiwei do wrong?"

Wen Shu paused, and a chill rose from the bottom of her heart.

She turned to look at the man's angular side face and said in a hoarse voice, "Are you sure that I killed Yan Zhiwei, Qin Mingyue? You won't believe me no matter what I say?"

Qin Mingyue inadvertently fell into the woman's eyes, which were full of despair. His heart skipped a beat, and an inexplicable sense of irritation rose in his heart.

Then he gritted his teeth and said angrily, "You don't deserve to call Zhiwei by her name."

In an instant, Wen Shu understood what it meant to live with sorrow rather than to give up.

She was really tired. This marriage had been wrong from the very beginning.

She thought that she would be able to move this man in the future, but... she was too confident. The feelings Qin Mingyue had for Yan Zhiwei had trapped him and her.

Perhaps she shouldn't have forced herself from the very beginning. Instead of praying for pity and love from others, why didn't she get rid of it as soon as possible.

The thought of divorce reached its peak at this moment. Wen Shu became determined, and her tone became cold. She no longer hid her feelings. "I know that I will never be as good as Yan Zhiwei in your heart. This marriage is my own fault. You win, I admit defeat."

Qin Mingyue suddenly stepped on the accelerator and the car came to a stop.

"What did you say?" His eyes were scarlet red, carrying a bit of darkness.

Wen Shu curled her lips and smiled bitterly. "I will find evidence to prove my innocence. I hope that Mr. Qin will let me go when the time comes. I will be free, and so will you."

"Hah." Qin Mingyue was getting increasingly annoyed that his voice turned cold. He sneered and grabbed Wen Shu by the chin, exerting so much force that his fingertips turned white. "You want a divorce?"

"That's impossible. We have to torture you like this for the rest of our lives. You deserve it."

After that, he shook off the face of Wen Shu and looked ahead coldly. "Get out!"

Wen Shu didn't know why he suddenly became furious, but she didn't care. She pushed the door open and got out of the car.

The car sped away, leaving her shivering in the cold wind.

But what was colder than her body was her heart.

"Ring, ring~~~"

The phone rang for a long time, and Wen Shu picked it up.

"Miss Wen, there is news about what you asked me to investigate!"

Wen Shu looked happy and asked faintly, "What did you find out?"

The lawyer said in a low voice, "The man who accidentally killed Yan Zhiwei appeared at the Jiuyu KTV. Maybe we can find out what happened from him?"

"I'll be right there."
