Chapter 5 I Want You to Marry Me

"A rose?" Qiao An'an smiled as she said this. She couldn't help but find the petal-shaped birthmark on her wrist somewhat abstract. She added, "One could argue that it resembles any type of flower. It could be a wild flower on the roadside."

This was just a short interlude, and Qiao An'an didn't dwell on it for too long. Instead, she commented, "You've already recognized me. There's no need to dwell on it any further. As it turns out, half of the unborn child inside me belongs to you, so I hope you'll take responsibility. Naturally, I don't harbor any love feelings towards you. But, after all, the child growing in my womb is connected to you. Even though there is no personal relationship between us."

Gu Ting nodded approvingly and inquired of Qiao An'an, "How may I assist you?"

"I don't ask for much. Throughout my pregnancy, I require the assistance of a specialized nanny and nutritionist to take care of me. I also need a chauffeur to transport me to my routine maternity check-ups. In addition, it is vital to have a live-in doctor on standby 24/7 to ensure my continuous health until the baby is delivered. Rest assured, once the child is born, they will solely belong to you and I will not contest it. I will promptly depart. However, you should know that giving birth to a child involves risking my life. So it is only right that you give me a payment after I give birth to my child and leave."

"Alright, let's proceed as per your suggestion."

Gu Ting readily agreed without any hesitation whatsoever.

"Shouldn't you inquire about my desired compensation?"

"How much do you want?"

In the novel, Gu Ting, the youngest and wealthiest man in the country, boasted assets worth billions of dollars. To him, 100 million was merely a minuscule fraction of his fortune.

She couldn't treat the richest people like ordinary people. She must claim a large sum of money.

The bolder she was, the more money she got.

Qiao An'an then said decisively, "500 million for one kid."

Considering Gu Ting's income level and the context of the novel, this was the most appropriate price Qiao An'an could ask for.

"For one kid?"

Gu Ting leaned in, his gaze fixated on Qiao An'an's enticing lips. Delicate and plump, her lips bore a slight, rosy hue akin to the oil painting of blooming rose gracing the wall behind his desk.

"Don't get me wrong, I don't mean anything else. Whether I'm carrying twins or triplets can only be determined by B-scan after two months of pregnancy. For the sake of caution, I have to be clear with you first."

As a reader who had finished the novel, Qiao An'an knew that the protagonist was expecting twins. However, she couldn't claim to have foreseen it like a prophetic vision. She could only attempt to rationalize it in her own way.

"Alright." Gu Ting nodded again.

He appeared to be relatively affable in negotiations, contrary to the depiction of his character as resolute and unreasonable in the book

"Also, in order to alleviate my financial burden during my 10-month pregnancy, I need necessary financial support during this period. Finally, you may deduct the required amount from my compensation."

Gu Ting took out his Ultima card and hande it to Qiao An'an, " No restrictions, no passwords."

Qiao An'an took the card decisively and said, "We need a contract outlining our negotiations today."

Certainly, a mere verbal promise was not legally binding without any witnesses. Would it not be easy for him to give up his promise if he wanted to? If Gu Ting reneged on his promise, Qiao An'an would be unable to receive the compensation.

A paper contract was imperative as a guarantee.

"Okay, but I want to add another clause to the contract."

"Sure. What terms would you like to add? I can assure you that the child is yours. If it turns out to be otherwise, I'm willing to comply with your wishes."

Qiao An'an made a solemn vow.

Gu Ting crossed his legs and leisurely unbuttoned his shirt, unveiling his slender yet robust wrists, "Marry me."
