Chapter 6 The Marriage Registration at the Civil Affairs Bureau

Marrying him?

Qiao An'an almost choked on her milk. She never expected that Gu Ting, the hero of the novel, would propose to her on the first day she became the heroine. Gu Ting didn't play by the rules.

In the novel, after Gu Ting met Qiao An'an at the airport, the two embarked on a grueling series of trials, separations and reconciliations. It was only at the end of their journey that they finally entered into marriage.

Why was it that Gu Ting was marrying her the first time they met? That's three years earlier than in the novel.

Was it possible that her departure from the original plot led to a deviation, causing the storyline to deviate from its intended course?

"I do not want our children to be born out of wedlock. Besides, if you live in my residence as an unmarried woman, you will inevitably be criticized. Perhaps we can come to a mutually beneficial agreement? As my wife, you can live in my house and give birth to our child. After the child is born, you can choose to stay or leave as you wish."

Qiao An'an suddenly remembered something. As the hero of I'm pregnant with twins: Love Me Gently, My CEO Husband, Gu Ting had a rough childhood. He was born in a single-parent family and grew up with his mother. He never knew who his father was.

Due to this, he had been branded as a bastard since his early years and endured mockery for a staggering 18 years. It was not until he was 18 years old and his father was seriously ill that he was recognized as the heir of the family business.

No wonder Gu Ting wanted to marry her despite her lack of feelings for him. Qiao An'an believed that Gu Ting was making this sacrifice for the sake of his unborn child, in order to spare the child from experiencing the same sorrow that he went through during his own childhood.

After organizing this logical sequence, Qiao An'an relaxed. Qiao An'an knew that marrying Gu Ting was actually beneficial to her as well.

As a tragic heroine who tragically lost her mother at a young age, was neglected by her father, and was relentlessly tormented by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters, Qiao An'an had endured a myriad of injustices over time that she couldn’t simply describe.

Not only did Qiao An'an get pregnant before marriage, but she stayed at Gerard's house for nine months to give birth. If Qiao family knew about this, they might come to make a scene, potentially leading to a scandal that could severely harm her reputation.

Qiao An'an believed that by marrying Gu Ting and playing the role of his wife, she could ensure that her reputation was preserved, considering the protective hand that Gu Ting would naturally extend.

When she gave birth and left, she could announce to the public that they were no longer in a relationship and had decided to raise the child as friends, which was harmless to both of them.

She wouldn't have anything to actually lose. In the end, Qiao An'an nodded in agreement.

Wu Hao was Gu Ting's special assistant and held dual degrees in management and law from Jiangcheng University. Under Gu Ting's five years of mentoring, Wu Hao had gained the experience to do things with excellence and efficiency. In a fraction of the time, he effortlessly drafted a contract.

The contract clearly stated:

"During the period of Qiao An'an's pregnancy, Gu Ting and Qiao An'an are married in name only, and the parties may not disclose the fact of the sham marriage to a third party. Upon expiration of the contract, both parties shall choose to continue or terminate the relationship on a case-by-case basis."

In other words, only Qiao An'an and Gu Ting knew about their fake marriage. They couldn't tell anyone about it. They must show the public that they were truly and legally married.

Qiao An'an carefully read through the contract three times, using her index finger to navigate the document word by word. Once she confirmed its accuracy, they proceeded to sign and seal the contract with their fingerprints.

There were two copies of the contract, one was kept by Gu Ting and the other by Qiao An'an.

"Let's go."

Gu Ting rose from his seat and approached Qiao An'an, naturally reaching out to her.

Qiao An'an was not sure what he meant, "Where are we going?"

"To register our marriage at the Civil Affairs Bureau."
